I'll be in trouble if I say anything other than he is, but the truth is I am.

How did you guys meet each other?

どうやって知り合ったの？

We met actually in Los Angeles.

実はロサンゼルスで会ったんだ。

Back in 2013.

2013年のことだ。

When did you know you were gay?

自分がゲイだと知ったのはいつですか？

I mean, I feel like I've known that I was different for for as long as I can remember from when I was like my earliest memories.

つまり、自分が変わっていることは、物心ついたときからわかっていたような気がするんだ。

And as I got older, I started to figure out that actually it what I was feeling wasn't the same as everyone else in my class.

そして大人になるにつれて、実は自分が感じていることがクラスのみんなと同じではないことが分かってきた。

And then I just gradually got to a point where I felt comfortable with who I was, I met Lance and I came out when I was 19 years old.

Do you get any hate for being gay?

ゲイであることで嫌われることはありますか？

You know, that's a very good question.

とてもいい質問だね。

When I first came out, it was actually lots of people were really, really supportive and sent lots of loving messages.

初めてカミングアウトしたときは、本当にたくさんの人が応援してくれて、たくさんの愛のメッセージを送ってくれた。

But when I was at school, I was actually bullied for being a diver.

でも、学生時代にはダイバーであることを理由にいじめられたこともあった。

People would call me names, take the mick out of what I would wear in my diving competitions and it was something that I really, really struggled with.

みんなに悪口を言われたり、ダイビングの試合で私が着ているものをバカにされたり、本当に本当に苦労した。

I hear that lots of you are like anti-bullying ambassadors, is that right?

皆さんの多くがいじめ防止大使のようなものだと聞いていますが、そうなんですか？

Are you guys ambassadors?

あなたたちはアンバサダーですか？

Really?

本当に？

Yeah, amazing.

ああ、驚きだ。

Which is absolutely amazing.

これは本当に素晴らしいことだ。

And to be able to have people in school in school that you can go and talk to and people that you're able to go and confide in is really important.

So what you're doing is going to really help and change so many people's lives.

Um, how do you deal with bullying?

いじめにはどう対処していますか？

It was really hard when I was little and I would sometimes just go away by myself and and feel sad.

小さい頃は本当につらくて、一人でどこかに行ってしまうこともあったし、悲しい気持ちになることもあった。

It's also really good to have someone that you can talk to.

相談できる人がいるのも本当にいいことだ。

Whether that be one of someone from an anti-bullying ambassador or if it's someone that you can confide in whether it's a teacher or a parent or a friend.

それがいじめ防止大使の誰かであろうと、教師であろうと、親であろうと、友人であろうと、打ち明けられる人であればいい。

I think it's really important to not bottle things up and being able to speak to someone.

物事を溜め込まず、誰かに話せるということは本当に大切なことだと思う。

When was the last time you cried?

最後に泣いたのはいつですか？

Well my mom taught me that when you cry, it's actually you getting better, it's a sign that inside your heart and your mind is getting stronger and better.

母が教えてくれたんだけど、泣くということは、実は自分が良くなっている証拠で、心の中が強くなって、良くなっている証拠なんだって。

And so some people think it's a sign of weakness, but that's they're actually wrong.

だから、それが弱さの表れだと考える人もいるが、実はそれは間違いなんだ。

What are your hopes and ambitions for Robbie?

Our son is four years old now and it's just been like this crazy dream come true.

息子はもう4歳になるけど、まるでクレイジーな夢が実現したようだよ。

Does anybody here know any other kids who have like two moms or two dads or?

誰か、二人の母親や二人の父親を持つ子供を知っている？

Yeah?

The main thing we want is for him to be happy.

私たちが一番望んでいるのは、彼が幸せになること。

I think the one thing I really wanted for him is to him to be curious and to ask questions.

私が彼に本当に望んでいたのは、好奇心旺盛で質問好きでいてほしいということだった。

And I think those two things are related because even if you're getting bullied, instead of maybe reacting with anger, you sort of ask yourself, you take the time to be curious and go, I wonder what's going on in that person's world that they felt they had to say or do that.

たとえいじめられたとしても、怒りで反応するのではなく、自分自身に問いかけ、好奇心を持ち、あの人の世界では何が起こっているのだろう？

Then it's really hard to hate them and it's really hard to be mad at them.

そうなると、彼らを憎むのは本当に難しいし、彼らに腹を立てるのも本当に難しい。

That would be our our only hope and dream for him, whatever he wants to do for a living or do with his life is his decision.

それが彼にとっての私たちの唯一の希望であり、夢である。

Those are his decisions.

Do you have any swimming tips?

泳ぎのコツはありますか？

To be honest, he actually can't swim very well.

正直なところ、彼はあまり泳げない。

It's true.

He just jumps in the water and he tries his hardest to get to the side.

It's about just going as often as you can to get used to it as much as possible and, you know, keep working hard.

Do you both like wearing Speedo pants?

I can't say they're the most comfortable things, but they are very practical for diving.
