You ever, you know, have them flying around the kitchen?

Rebecca Cole shows us a DIY trick to stop them from, pun intended, bugging you.

These buggers waste no time flying in to juice your fruits, getting fat, laying eggs, and if not taken care of, those eggs turn into maggots.

So here's a homemade trap that's easy to do and let me tell you, it works.

So for this you need an empty plastic container like a apple cider vinegar and a little bit of water.

So we're going to start by cutting off the top of the water bottle.

Okay, to the bottom we're going to add a little bit of water, about the same amount of apple cider vinegar, and then one or two drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid.

Okay, we're going to mix that together.

So now we're going to take the top of the bottle, remove the cap, recycle that.

We're going to invert this and place it like a funnel inside the container like so.

So here's what's going to happen.

The fruit flies are attracted to the apple cider vinegar.

They fly in and whoops, they can't get out.

Unfortunately they drown and in no time, look at the bottom of this, hundreds, literally hundreds of fruit flies.

So that's one way to keep the fruit flies away.

Also you can do some kitchen maintenance to make sure they stay away.

And finally, if you collect kitchen compost, which I recommend you do, be sure you dump it daily.
