I am an American who is living in France for almost 3 years now.

私はフランスに住んでもうすぐ3年になるアメリカ人です。

I live in Aix-en-Provence, so I thought it was a great idea to share with you some places that you can visit on your trip here to France, specifically Provence.

私はエクス・アン・プロヴァンスに住んでいるので、フランス、特にプロヴァンスへの旅行で訪れることができるいくつかの場所を紹介するのは素晴らしいアイデアだと思った。

So I've created a guide if you are coming here for the week and which places you need to see, so let's jump right into it.

The first place on my list is of course where I live, Aix-en-Provence.

Aix-en-Provence is such a beautiful city with beautiful architecture, there's museums you can visit, so many cafes, great food.

エクス・アン・プロヴァンスは美しい建築物のある街で、美術館もあるし、カフェもたくさんあるし、食べ物もおいしい。

You can wander the streets and see all of the fountains.

通りを歩き回り、すべての噴水を見ることができる。

We have so many fountains here in Aix-en-Provence.

エクス・アン・プロヴァンスには噴水がたくさんある。

You can do guided tours, you can visit the museums, or one of the artists here that actually lived here was Cezanne, so they even have his atelier that you can visit.

ガイドツアーもあるし、美術館を訪れることもできるし、実際にここに住んでいた画家の一人にセザンヌがいるから、彼のアトリエを訪れることもできる。

So there is plenty of things to do here year round.

So start off in Aix-en-Provence and just kind of have that be your home base, and then you can travel to different places in Provence all throughout the week.

Next on my list is my favorite village.

次は私の大好きな村だ。

It is Lormorin.

ロルモリンだ。

Lormorin is a quaint village located in the Louberon, and you don't need much time to explore this village because it is very small, but it is definitely a must see.

ロルモランはルーベロンにある趣のある村で、とても小さいのでこの村を散策するのにあまり時間は必要ないが、間違いなく必見である。

There is a beautiful renaissance castle, cobblestone streets, little cafe shops where you can go ahead and enjoy lunch there.

美しいルネッサンス様式の城、石畳の道、小さなカフェがあり、そこでランチを楽しむこともできる。

And if you visit on Fridays, you can see their farmer's market where you can go ahead and browse all of the fresh produce, taste their olives.

また、金曜日に訪れるとファーマーズ・マーケットを見ることができ、新鮮な野菜やオリーブを味わうことができる。

Their olives are so good here in Provence.

ここプロヴァンスではオリーブがとても美味しい。

It's one of my favorite things to get at the farmer's market, the fresh fruits.

ファーマーズマーケットで新鮮なフルーツを買うのは私の楽しみのひとつだ。

You can see the local artisans selling their crafts.

地元の職人たちが工芸品を売っているのを見ることができる。

You can pick up souvenirs.

お土産も買える。

And then also, if you do visit the castle, there is a museum inside that you can go ahead and see.

それから、もし城を訪れるなら、中に博物館があるので、そこで見学することもできる。

After your visit to Lormorin, make your way to Bonhieu, which is another beautiful village located on a hilltop with beautiful scenery of the countryside.

ロルモリン観光の後は、美しい田園風景が広がる丘の上にある美しい村、ボニュへ向かう。

You can just definitely take your time there because it is really, really tiny, and it's just lovely to kind of enjoy the slower pace of life while wandering the streets.

You can definitely have dinner there.

間違いなくそこでディナーを食べることができる。

They have really nice restaurants where you can have beautiful scenery of the landscapes.

It's really just a time to kind of slow down and just embrace the slower lifestyle that the French live, and you can enjoy local wine from the local bars or cafes.

フランス人のゆっくりとしたライフスタイルを受け入れ、地元のバーやカフェで地元のワインを楽しむことができる。

It's the perfect way to end your second day in Provence.

プロヴァンスでの2日目を締めくくるのにふさわしい。

Third day here in Provence, you definitely need to make your way to Rousillon.

プロヴァンスに来て3日目、ルシヨンに行く必要がある。

Rousillon is very different from the other villages here in Provence.

ルシヨンは、ここプロヴァンスの他の村とはまったく違う。

They have these beautiful red and orange cliffs that is created basically from the ochre in the soil.

And you'll see all of the buildings here.

The facades of the buildings are the orange-red colors.

It is a really, really beautiful village.

You can also start your day here at the Sentier des Aux, where you can hike and just see the beautiful landscapes of these orange cliffs.

Definitely start your day there.

And then, since I'm sure you've worked up an appetite, you can have lunch at one of the local restaurants here, or you can go ahead and pack a lunch.

食欲が湧いてきただろうから、地元のレストランでランチを食べてもいいし、お弁当を持って行ってもいい。

That's what I did when I visited.

私が訪れた時もそうだった。

And they have little nice park benches where you can just be surrounded by olive trees.

オリーブの木に囲まれた公園には、ちょっとしたベンチもある。

It's just really, really a beautiful village.

本当に、本当に美しい村なんだ。

And after you're done with Rousillon, you can head to Gourde.

ルシヨンが終わったら、グールドに向かうといい。

It is another hilltop village with stone houses, cobblestone streets.

石造りの家々、石畳の道が続く丘の上の村だ。

It is really a must-see.

本当に必見だ。

Just be prepared.

ただ、準備はしておいてほしい。

Gourde does get very, very busy.

瓢箪はとてもとても忙しくなる。

And if you're lucky, if you are visiting during June and July, you can go ahead and take a short drive down from Gourde to visit the Abbey, where they have lavender fields.

運がよければ、6月から7月にかけて訪れるなら、グールドから少しドライブして、ラベンダー畑のある修道院を訪れることができる。

I would say the end of June to the beginning of July.

6月の終わりから7月の初めくらいかな。

On your following day, you can visit Moustiers-Sainte-Marie and Lac de Saint-Croix.

翌日には、ムスティエ・サント・マリー（Moustiers-Sainte-Marie）とサン・クロワ湖（Lac de Saint-Croix）を訪れることができる。

Moustiers-Sainte-Marie is known as one of the most beautiful villages in France.

ムスティエ・サント・マリーはフランスで最も美しい村のひとつとして知られている。

They are known for their porcelain.

磁器で知られている。

They even have a museum that you can visit and see the workshop and pick up some souvenirs.

博物館もあり、工房を見学したり、お土産を買ったりすることもできる。

They have many shops all throughout the streets here where you can see the local artists work.

この通りにはたくさんの店があり、地元のアーティストの作品を見ることができる。

Then after that, head to Lac de Saint-Croix, which is a beautiful, beautiful lake, crystal blue waters.

その後、サン・クロワ湖（Lac de Saint-Croix）へ向かう。美しい、美しい湖で、クリスタルブルーの水だ。

And they have so many activities for you to do.

You can rent a kayak or one of their boats or just take a dip in the water.

It is really a must-see if you are going to be making your way to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.

Next up is Les Baux de Provence.

Les Baux de Provence is a beautiful medieval village where you can see beautiful landscapes that are surrounding.

レ・ボー・ド・プロヴァンスは美しい中世の村で、周囲には美しい風景が広がっている。

You can also explore Carrier de Lumiere, where they have famous art installations projected on the wall with music in the background.

また、キャリエ・ドゥ・ルミエールでは、音楽をバックに有名なアート作品が壁に映し出されている。

It's definitely an experience, so make sure you have enough time to see this.

これは間違いなく経験なので、これを見るために十分な時間があることを確認してほしい。

And I would highly recommend probably starting your day there because unfortunately when

I visited, I didn't start my day there and I wish I would have.

After your visit to Les Baux de Provence, you can go ahead and drive to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, which is about 15 minutes, where they have a lot of artwork in the shops here in this village.

レ・ボー・ド・プロヴァンス観光の後は、車で15分ほどのサン＝レミー＝ド＝プロヴァンスに行くことができる。

And the reason why is because Vincent van Gogh actually did a lot of his famous paintings here in this village as he was in an asylum, which you can actually now visit that is a museum.

その理由は、フィンセント・ファン・ゴッホが精神病院に入院していたとき、多くの有名な絵をこの村で描いたからだ。

So after visiting the museum, you can go ahead and roam the streets of this stunning village and enjoy an aperitif on the terrace with the local wines or olives or the local cuisine.

Next up, we have Île-sur-les-Sorts, which is a charming town that's known for its antiques and canals.

I would say if you are staying in Aix-en-Provence, you can actually take a bus there, which is probably about an hour drive.

エクス＝アン＝プロヴァンスに滞在するのであれば、バスで1時間くらいで行けると思う。

Just be mindful though that this bus only has a couple of stops there throughout the day, so just pay attention to the timetable of when it's running.

ただ、このバスは1日のうち数回しか停車しないので、運行時間に注意してほしい。

And if you can, I would visit on a Sunday because that is when they have their markets, and this is a must-see.

できれば日曜日に訪れたい。日曜はマーケットが開かれる時期で、必見だ。

This is one of the biggest markets that I have visited in Provence, where they sell food, clothes, they have beautiful linen dresses and shirts, they have antiques, so many antiques.

ここは私がプロヴァンスで訪れた中で最も大きな市場のひとつで、食べ物も売っているし、洋服も売っている。美しいリネンのドレスやシャツもあるし、アンティークもたくさんある。

This is what Île-sur-les-Sorts is really, really known for.

これがイル＝シュル＝レ＝ソールの本当の、本当に有名なところだ。

After browsing the markets, you can go ahead and walk along the canals where there is restaurants where you can take a lunch break.

市場を見て回った後は、運河沿いを歩くと昼食休憩ができるレストランがある。

It really is a charming town, and I highly recommend making a trip here.

本当に魅力的な町なので、ぜひ足を運んでみてほしい。

We've come to the last stop, and this one is quite different because this is a town located by the sea, and it is Cassis.

海沿いの町、カシスだからだ。

So start off your day eating at one of the restaurants, sit on the terrace and just soak up that sunshine, enjoying a croissant or orange juice or coffee.

一日の始まりは、レストランで食事をし、テラスに座って、クロワッサンやオレンジジュース、コーヒーを楽しみながら、太陽の光を浴びよう。

Then make your way to the port where you can go ahead and take a boat, and this is highly recommended.

その後、ボートに乗ることができる港に向かう。

You have to visit the Calanques while you're here in Cassis.

カシスにいる間にカランクを訪れるべきだ。

It is beautiful.

美しい。

It will be crowded, but I'm telling you, it is so worth it.

混雑するだろうが、それだけの価値はある。

Then when you get back from your boat ride, enjoy lunch, and to end this trip, make sure you stop at Cap Canaille.

そしてボートから戻ったらランチを楽しみ、この旅の最後には必ずキャップ・カナイユに立ち寄ろう。

It is located on a hilltop where you will see stunning views.

丘の上にあり、素晴らしい景色を見ることができる。

And that is the end of my week itinerary here for you in Provence.
