Ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus suggests that death should not be feared because it is simply the end of sensation and experience.

古代ギリシアの哲学者エピクロスは、死は感覚と経験の単なる終焉であるため、恐れるべきではないと示唆している。

According to Epicurus, when we are alive, death is not present;

エピクロスによれば、私たちが生きているとき、死は存在しない；

and when death comes, we are not there to experience it.

そして死が訪れても、私たちはそれを経験するためにそこにいるわけではない。

This perspective can make the idea of eternal oblivion less frightening.

このような視点を持つことで、永遠の忘却という考えが怖くなくなる。
