So now I have a 15 Pro Max and I want to see how the lenses work on this phone because a lot of other brands are having trouble.

Every lens brand has had to update their lenses because of the larger sensors and larger camera bumps in the later generation phones.

And that really started with the 13, the 12 a little bit, but really the 13 and then the 14 and 15 in particular.

To be honest I kind of feel sorry for these lens makers because with the iPhone changing so much their lenses have to be updated and it's got to be costly and it's irritating for not only them but then us as customers as well because then we have to update our gear and it gets expensive.

Well pretty much every brand has updated for the 14 and they all worked really well with the 14 and that includes ShiftCam, Bscript, recently Moment and their T-Series and then Freewell just released these Sherpa lenses.

Well the other brands are having trouble with the 15 series phones.

In particular their Anamorphic and their Telephoto.

So I recently got a 15 Pro Max case from Freewell and so now I want to test out the Sherpa lenses today.

最近Freewellから15 Pro Maxケースを手に入れたので、今日はSherpaレンズを試してみたい。

First up is the 1.33 times anamorphic.

So I'm really just looking at the edge to edge sharpness, the clarity of the lens, whether there's chromatic aberration and just how sharp it is overall.

And by the way you may notice I'm actually shooting all the other lenses that have tested recently.

And overall this lens looks pretty good.

I'm not seeing anything really noticeable in this interior location.

Now we'll hop outside and look at the footage in a brighter situation and sometimes that will show more imperfections.

And overall the lens looks good.

If you pixel peep on the right edge you will see just a little bit of what I would almost call smearing.

It's just very very subtly soft.

Not seeing in the left side though.

So it could be an alignment issue.

It's very minimal and so I don't think it's a big deal at all.

And if it bothers you, you could just push in and post-production and reframe it.

それが気になるなら、ポストプロダクションでリフレーミングすればいい。

And now back in the studio, this is the same shot but I'm using the virtual lens, the 2x 48mm.

そしてスタジオに戻って、これは同じショットだが、バーチャルレンズの2x48mmを使っている。

So the anamorphic is on the main camera still but I'm pushing in two times.

That way if there is any edge softness at all that you don't like, you can push past it.

Or the main reason people use this is to get more of a telephoto look and then get rid of the anamorphic distortion.

Next up is the 1.55x anamorphic.

Now I've had trouble with this lens with this lens is of course a little wider than the 1.33 and it has more distortion.

このレンズは1.33より少しワイドで、ディストーションが大きい。

But like its predecessor, it looks pretty good.

しかし、前作同様、かなり良さそうだ。

I don't see any real issues in this interior shot.

この内装のショットには特に問題は見当たらない。

Overall the clarity looks good.

全体的に透明度は良さそうだ。

It's a sharp lens and I like the overall look of it.

シャープなレンズで、全体的な外観も気に入っている。

Now we'll jump outside and do the same test as we did with the other lens.

では、外に飛び出して、他のレンズでやったのと同じテストをしてみよう。

And a very similar result here.

そして、ここでもよく似た結果が出た。

Overall the image looks great.

The far right side there might just be just some ever so slight softness but you really can't even see it.

And again if you didn't like it you could push in just ever so slightly in post-production.

We'll jump back in the studio and do the same thing.

Now the 48mm.

今度は48mmだ。

So we're zoomed in in the iPhone using the same main camera.

You're now getting more or less a telephoto shot using the anamorphic.

アナモルフィックで望遠撮影ができるようになった。

Overall the image looks good and of course you've lost all that distortion which some people like and some people don't like.

全体的に画像はよく見えるし、もちろん、好きな人もいれば嫌いな人もいるディストーションもすべてなくなった。

All right now the 18mm wide-angle.

今は18mmの広角だ。

And with other brands they have been fine.

他のブランドでは問題なかった。

Both Moment and Shift Cam and of course B-Script, their lenses work fine with the 14 Pro or the 15 Pro.

MomentもShift Camも、そしてもちろんB-Scriptも、彼らのレンズは14 Proでも15 Proでも問題なく使える。

This lens has been solid.

このレンズはしっかりしている。

And the Freewell 18mm looks to be the same.

フリーウェルの18mmも同じようだ。

I would say it looks sharp edge-to-edge.

Does have a little more distortion I think than some of the other brands.

Not a big deal.

大したことではない。

That can look kind of cool depending on what you're doing.

It is a nice wide look though.

And now we're going outside.

And this lens looks very clean.

Good image.

And I'm not seeing any issues out here at all.

No soft edges.

No chromatic aberration.

Again, really solid lens here from Freewell.

And just because I can, I shot this lens with the 2x, the 48mm virtual lens on the iPhone.

そして、せっかくなので、このレンズをiPhoneの2倍、48mmのバーチャルレンズで撮影してみた。

So again the lens is on the main camera.

だからまた、レンズはメインカメラに付いている。

I just pushed in 2x.

You probably wouldn't ever do this but in case you did want to lose the distortion and get a tighter shot using the 18mm, this is how it looks.

Alright, now the last setup.

We're looking at the Fisheye.

And wow, this is a really big chunk of glass.

In my original video I talked about how big it is, how heavy.

And it is.

But it is a really high quality piece of glass.

It just feels robust in your hand.

And the image quality is very good.

Now of course this is a stylized look.

Like for a music video or almost a GoPro kind of look.

Not seeing any issues whatsoever.

Sharp edge to edge.

The clarity looks good.

And so if you want this fisheye look, this is a good option with the 15 Pro Max.

この魚眼レンズ的な外観を望むのであれば、15 Pro Maxは良い選択肢だ。

And that includes being outside.

Outside I'm not seeing any issues whatsoever.

No softness, no chromatic aberration.

So minus the little bit of soft edge on the 1.33x anamorphic, these lenses are great across the board.

And I can't say that with the other brands.

And so if you are looking for lenses and you have a 15 Pro or a Pro Max, then Freewell probably jumps to the top of the list for consistency across the line.
