Right when you walk in, you'll be greeted with lots of food options. I don't know if you noticed, but Taiwan takes 7-Eleven very seriously. There are over 6,000 locations across Taiwan.

店に入ってすぐ、たくさんの食べ物が出迎えてくれる。お気づきかどうかわからないが、台湾はセブン-イレブンをとても大切にしている。台湾全土に6,000以上の店舗がある。

It's literally everywhere in every corner and open 24x7.

文字通り、いたるところにあり、24時間365日営業している。

From quick bites, beverages, ready to eat meals to household essentials, convenience stores in Asia are the real MVPs.

軽食、飲料、調理済み食品から生活必需品まで、アジアのコンビニは真のMVPである。

First thing I'm trying is hot rice ball and soy milk, a iconic breakfast duo from the most famous Michelin breakfast spot in Taiwan.

まず最初に試すのは、台湾で最も有名なミシュランの朝食スポットを代表する朝食コンビ、温かいおにぎりと豆乳だ。

This is actually really hard to find and normally, this whole set takes around 2 hours to line up to get in Taipei.

台北でこのセットを手に入れるには、通常2時間ほど並ぶ必要がある。

If you've never tried hot rice ball before, imagine sticky rice ball packed with lots of yummy toppings on the inside.

温かいおにぎりを食べたことがない人は、もちもちのおにぎりの中においしいトッピングがたくさん詰まっているのを想像してみてほしい。

There are lots of different textures and flavours such as pork fluff, which is sweet,

Chinese donuts, which is crispy, and other savoury vegetables and toppings.

Don't forget to ask them to heat it up.

The soy milk was perfect. Not too sweet and still super rich.

豆乳は完璧だった。甘すぎず、それでいて超濃厚。

The soy milk is actually really creamy. I think this actually tastes really good.

豆乳は本当にクリーミーだ。これは本当においしいと思う。

It's really comparable to the ones you get in stores.

お店で売っているものと本当に遜色ない。

This was actually recommended by my grandma.

So she says to go try at 7-Eleven and try the whole line.

Next up, we got the sandwich.

This is what I ate growing up.

Whenever I didn't know what to eat for breakfast, we would go get sandwich at 7-Eleven.

So we have a double ham and egg cheese sandwich.

That way every bite is like a perfect ratio.

Next up, we got steamed yams.

7-Eleven is actually the only convenience store that has steamed yam compared to slow roast to provide a healthier and smoother option.

When you walk into 7-Eleven, you'll instantly be greeted with the smell of TA.

So if you're ever wondering what smells so good, it is TA.

I usually come here to get their ice cream bars, but we'll grab that later.

Family Mart has over 3,000 stores across Taiwan.

ファミリーマートは台湾全土に3,000以上の店舗を展開している。

Similar to 7-Eleven, you're able to find many food and household items here.

セブン-イレブンと同様、食料品や日用品が多く揃う。

However, they are most known for their limited time collab products.

しかし、彼らは期間限定のコラボ商品で最も知られている。

Their lineup is always changing with new trips popping up all the time.

For lunch, I was craving noodles.

So let's make some beef noodle soup together.

Okay, so I went a little bit crazy here.

Oh, and last thing, I saw that they have French tea.

And I can't believe it.

I know 7-Eleven has boba tea, but look at this.

The hot dogs are actually really juicy on the inside.

The rice is really soft and you would think it's really hard because it's been in the fridge, but it's not.

And the packaging with seaweed, the seaweed is still really crispy.

And there's so many different fillings you can choose from.

Whenever I'm busy and on the go, onigiri is my go-to lunch.

But still, nothing beats the beef noodle soup.

Oh my goodness, the drinks in Taiwan are just so elite.

It feels like you're drinking at a professional bubble tea shop.

I think if you get ice and you add it in, it would be really, really refreshing.

This is part of their family collection, and there's tons of different other flavors that you can choose from.

Next up, we got the mini Taiwanese sausages.

次はミニ台湾ソーセージ。

If you like garlic, you would really like the sausages in Taiwan.

I love garlic, but these are super garlicky.

I'm still a little bit hungry, so let's go down and get some dessert.

This is one of my favorite ice cream bars.

So it is oolong tea on the top and milk tea in the bottom, and it tastes like one big boba tea.

Once you bite into it, the outer layer is tea, and the inside there's even more creaminess.

And then there's chunks of chocolate.

It's like a pretty intense ice cream bar for sure, but if you're craving something rich and creamy, this will hit the spot.

Next up, we got my favorite,

Tongyi Pudding.

トンイプリン。

It's like an egg pudding, but it's really silky smooth and soft.

The bottom has a rich caramel.

底は濃厚なキャラメル。

For dinner, my parents joined me as we walked downstairs to grab something to eat at 7-Eleven.

夕食は、両親も一緒にセブンイレブンで何か食べようと階段を降りた。

Living in Taiwan where you have good food every corner you look, you may be wondering, why do people eat at convenience stores?

どこを見ても美味しいものがある台湾に住んでいると、なぜ人々はコンビニで食事をするのだろうと不思議に思うかもしれない。

Well, that's because they're quick, reliable, and affordable.

迅速で、信頼性が高く、手頃な価格だからだ。

Office workers can have proper meals even on their short breaks.

オフィスワーカーは短い休憩時間でもきちんと食事をとることができる。

Parents can grab breakfast for their kids on their way home from work, and students can get a quick pick-me-up during exam time.

親は仕事帰りに子供に朝食を食べさせることができるし、学生は試験期間中に素早く栄養補給をすることができる。

Within 10 minutes, you can pick up and drop off your parcels, pay your bill, print and fax your documents, grab something to eat, and some locations even have Pokemon Go.

10分以内に荷物の受け渡し、請求書の支払い、書類の印刷やファックス、食事のほか、ポケモンGOができる場所もある。

Trust me, once you experience convenience store life in Taiwan, there's no going back.

It's like a fizzy lemon soda.

This one is 維力炸醬麵, and it's my dad's favorite all-time instant noodle.

これは「維力炸醬麵」で、父のお気に入りのインスタントラーメンだ。

That one's my favorite, that one's his.

あれは僕のお気に入りで、あれは彼のものだ。

I think what makes 維力炸醬麵 so special is that the sauce packet.

私が思うに、維力炸醬麵が特別なのは、ソースの包みにある。

So you can buy the sauce on its own, but it doesn't taste the same.

And it comes with a soup, so as you can see it has two bowls.

You pour out the noodle, and then in the soup you add the soup packet, so you have noodles and soup.

It's a great deal.

This one right here is their chicken curry, also sold separately so the rice doesn't get soggy.

This is one of my favorites at 7-Eleven because the rice soaks up all the delicious curry.

これはセブンイレブンのお気に入りのひとつで、ご飯がカレーのおいしさをすべて吸い込んでしまうからだ。

Obviously it doesn't compare to homemade or professional Japanese curry, but for a convenience store, it's really good.

もちろん、自家製やプロの日本のカレーにはかなわないが、コンビニのカレーとしては本当においしい。

My personal favorite noodle is actually 賴一克, and I love it because you have the seafood on top.

個人的に一番好きな麺は賴一克で、シーフードが上に乗っているのが大好きなんだ。

You can find it sometimes in the U.S. on Amazon and in Canada at T&T, but it's really hard to find so I normally fly back with a bunch of them in my luggage.

アメリカではアマゾンで、カナダではT&Tでたまに売っているが、本当に手に入りにくいので、いつもは手荷物にたくさん入れて飛行機で帰ってくる。

It has a little seafood in it, and me and Dom's favorite way is actually to add a little bit of chili oil on top, then pour the hot soup on top, so it's like a spicy seafood instant noodle.

シーフードが少し入っていて、僕とドムのお気に入りの食べ方は、チリオイルを少し加えてから熱いスープをかけるんだ。

And then here we have pasta.

そしてパスタだ。

This was my sister's picking, but it's a creamy pasta, and then there is cheese as well as ham in it.

It's okay.

Okay, we're gonna finish dinner, and then we're gonna have dessert in a second.

So this one right here is 拐拐.

拐拐 actually means good good, and a lot of engineers or workers in Taiwan will actually put a bag of 拐拐 on any of their electronics, printers, computers, or anything, telling it to be good.

So it's like a routine.

It is made out of, it's a pea cracker, but it has like a really nice garlicky taste to it.

これは豆のクラッカーでできているんだけど、ニンニクの風味が効いているんだ。

It's really crunchy and has a nice swirl like this.

本当にカリカリで、こんな風に渦を巻いている。

So crunchy.

カリカリだ。

Last but not least, we got this one right here.

最後に、これを紹介しよう。

This is more of a new style chip, and this one is 蚵仔煎, which is Taiwan famous oyster pancake, and they sold it in a chip version.

これはもっと新しいスタイルのチップスで、これは蚵仔煎という台湾で有名な牡蠣のパンケーキで、チップスバージョンで売られていた。

And I think this is very common, but chips in Asia are like really really thin, but nice and crispy and really well seasoned.

そして、これはとても一般的なことだと思うけど、アジアのチップスは本当に薄くて、でもパリパリしていて、味付けがとてもいいんだ。

You can find creamy lobster, barbecue, salted egg, so many flavors, but 蚵仔煎 is one of our favorites because it's also very hard to find in the U.S.

クリーミーなロブスター、バーベキュー、塩漬け卵などいろいろな味があるが、蚵仔煎はアメリカでもなかなか手に入らないので、私たちのお気に入りのひとつだ。

For the sweets, this is my favorite dessert of all time in any flavor.

スイーツでは、どのフレーバーでも私が一番好きなデザートだ。

There's milk, chocolate, and strawberry.

ミルク、チョコレート、ストロベリーがある。

I have a strawberry one too, but it is mini cream puffs.

ストロベリーもあるけど、ミニシュークリームだよ。

So they look like this, which is like mini cream puffs, and make sure also to get 艺美.

こんな感じで、ミニシュークリームのようなものだ。

艺美 makes the best 小泡芙 of all time.

艺美は史上最高の小泡芙を作る。

I've tried many.

So this one's my favorite.

And then we also have over here, which is like a cognac jelly.

It has zero calories, and there's different flavors.

My favorite one is for sure the grape.

Oh, and the jelly one actually comes with aloe vera on the inside.
