Today's episode is about Tokyo Disneyland vs DisneySea.

今日は東京ディズニーランドとディズニーシーのエピソードです。

What are the differences, and more importantly, which is the better park for you?

違いは何ですか、そしてさらに重要なのは、あなたにとってどちらがより良い方ですか？

Here's a little bit of background first.

まず、その背景を少し説明しましょう。

Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are in the same area, which is accessible from Maihama Station.

東京ディズニーランドとディズニーシーは同じエリアにあり、舞浜駅から行くことができます。

It is a quick 15 minute train ride direct from Tokyo Station, so there are no change of trains necessary.

東京駅から直通の電車で 15 分ほどなので、乗り換えの必要はありません。

However, if you are traveling from other stations, you can check on Google Maps.

First, on how to get to Maihama station.

The walk to Disneyland is 10 minutes from Maihama Station, but to get to DisneySea, you will need to take the Disney Monorail, which will take 10 minutes to get you from Maihama station to the entrance of DisneySea, and it costs ¥260 per person.

ディズニーランドまでは舞浜駅から徒歩 10 分ですが、ディズニーシーに行くにはディズニーモノレールに乗る必要があり、舞浜駅からディズニーシーの入り口まで 10 分、1 人 260 円かかります。

The Monorail itself is a pretty cool train.

モノレール自体はなかなかかっこいい電車です。

It has a Disney theme going on, so there are a lot of opportunities to take great pictures.

ディズニーをテーマにしているので、いい写真が撮れそうです。

If you choose not to take the monorail, you can walk for 20 minutes from Maihama Station to get to the entrance of DisneySea.

モノレールに乗らない場合は、舞浜駅からディズニーシーの入り口まで 20 分ほど歩きます。

If you can actually spare the time and the money for it, then I would recommend that you try going to both parks, especially if this is your first time in the "Happiest Place On Earth"

もし時間とお金に余裕があれば、特にこれがあなたの初めての「地球上で最も幸せな場所」の場合は、両方の公園に行ってみることをお勧めします。

However, if you have been to other Disney parks in the world, Tokyo Disneyland might not offer you a completely new experience because it does share some similar attractions, such as "Big Thunder Mountain", with other Disney parks.

しかし、世界中の他のディズニーパークに行ったことがある場合、東京ディズニーランドは「ビッグサンダーマウンテン」など、他のディズニーパークと類似のアトラクションを共有しているので、完全に新しい体験を提供できないかもしれません。

On the other hand, there's only one DisneySea in the world, and it offers a different experience altogether.

So if you had to choose, I would probably prioritize DisneySea over Disneyland.

Of course, theme parks aren't just about rides, but also meeting & greeting your favorite cast of characters.

もちろん、遊園地は乗り物だけでなく、大好きなキャラクターとのふれあいも大切です。

For both parks, there are special areas where you can meet and greet with them.

どちらの遊園地にも、キャラクターとグリーティングできるエリアがあります。

Depending on the seasons, the characters may actually be wearing different outfits, such as for Halloween, Chinese New Year, or Christmas.

ハロウィン、旧正月、クリスマスなど、季節によってキャラクターが違う衣装を着ていることがあります。

And in Disneyland, you will get to meet Mickey & his gang, such as Minnie, Pluto, Donald and more.

ディズニーランドでは、ミッキーやミニー、プルート、ドナルドなど、ミッキーと仲間たちに会うことができます。

For DisneySea, it's a totally different cast of characters.

ディズニーシーでは全く違うキャラクターが登場します。

Instead, you will meet Duffy and his gang, which includes Gelatoni and Shelley May.

代わりに、ダッフィーとその仲間、ジェラトーニやシェリーメイに会うことができます。

If you are looking to complete your collection of plushes and soft toys, then be ready to face tough competition, as the Japanese are hardcore collectors from kids to adults, limited edition models are usually quickly sold out.

ぬいぐるみやソフトトイのコレクションを充実させたいなら、厳しい競争に覚悟してください。日本人は子供から大人まで熱心なコレクターなので、限定モデルはたいていすぐに売り切れてしまいます。

Next, let's compare the famous landmarks between both parts.

In Disneyland, Disney castles are usually different at every part, but in Tokyo Disneyland, what you get is the Cinderella Castle.

ディズニーランドのお城はパートごとに違うのが普通ですが、東京ディズニーランドにあるのはシンデレラ城です。

It is majestic, it is beautiful, there's a beautiful garden nearby, and there are a lot of spots for great photo opportunities.

荘厳だし、綺麗だし、近くに綺麗なお庭もあるし、写真スポットもたくさんあります。

It's also the same castle that you see in the opening of every Disney movie.

ディズニー映画のオープニングにも出てくるお城です。

This is the moment where dreams come true for many adults and kids alike.

これは多くの大人や子供にとって夢が叶う瞬間でしょう。

Now, when it comes to DisneySea, you get a mysterious island with fire and smokescreen volcano.

さて、ディズニーシーといえば、火山と煙幕のある神秘的な島があります。

It is also the centerpiece for "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" and "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" rides.

また、「センター・オブ・ジ・アース」と「海底２万マイル」のアトラクションの中心的な場所でもあります。

It is breathtaking from far and even more so up close.

遠くから見ても、近くから見ても息をのむような美しさです。

So in Disneyland, you get a beautiful, white, serene castle.

ディズニーランドには白くて美しいお城があるんですね。

In DisneySea, you get a raging volcano.

ディズニーシーには荒れ狂う火山があります。

Take your pick because both are must-see spots.

どちらも必見スポットなので、お好きな方をどうぞ。

Next, let's compare the rides between the two parks.

次に両パークの乗り物を比較してみましょう。

For Tokyo Disneyland, the rides are focused towards kids.

東京ディズニーランドは子供向けの乗り物が多いです。

Here are the top five.

Star Wars The Adventure Continues,

Well, in Disneyland, the best shows and parades are "Happiness Is Here",

ディズニーランドで一番のショーやパレードは 「ハピネス・イズ・ヒア」。

"Once Upon a Time,"

「ワンス・アポン・ア・タイム」。

and the" Electrical Parade Dream Lights".

そして「エレクトリカルパレード・ドリームライツ」。

For DisneySea, it is "Big Band Beat",

ディズニーシーは「ビッグバンドビート」。

"A Table Is Waiting,"

「テーブル・イズ・ウェイティング」。

and "Phantasmic".

そして「ファンタズミック！」。
