India's railway minister has said that signal failure is to blame for that horrific crash that killed 275 people and injured more than 1000.

インドの鉄道相は、275人が死亡し1000人以上が負傷したあの恐ろしい事故の原因は、信号の故障にあると発表しました。

It's the deadliest crash in more than 20 years of its kind and the images as you say are just horrific.

この種の事故としては20年以上ぶりのことで、画像はまさにおぞましいものです。

A passenger train slammed into that stationary goods train because it was traveling on the wrong tracks,

旅客列車が貨物列車に衝突したのです。その列車は間違った線路を走っていたためです、

and then, carriages flew through the air across the tracks and hit another train that was traveling in the other direction.

そして、客車は線路を横切って空を飛び、反対方向に走っていた別の列車にぶつかりました。

An inquiry has now been launched to work out whether or not this was human error or if it was a maintenance issue.
