Why do you make pizza cutters?

なぜ、ピザカッターを作るのですか？

When I thought how to use real weapons like swords, katana and sables,

刀や剣、サブレといった本物の武器の使い方を考えたとき。

I don't like tools which intend to hurt other people

他人を傷つけるような道具は嫌いだ。

Oh right. Especially in this age

そうですか。特にこの時代

That also, and I wanted to make a pizza cutter which looks like a weapon to fill your stomachs

このブースには、どのようなアートが展示されているのでしょうか。

As you can see, these are my works this time

ご覧の通り、今回の私の作品です。

It's called Ago-Hazurex -funny name

アゴハズレックスという名前です。

The concept here is a pun. Ago-hazure (displaced jaw)

こちらのコンセプトは、ダジャレです。アゴハズレ(アゴハズレ)

and T-rex, both word combined and made into a pun figurine

とT-REX、両方の単語を組み合わせてダジャレフィギュアにしました。

This is another work I did

これは私が行った別の作品です。

Knight- ammonites

ナイト-アンモナイト

ammonites are extinct ancient animals, combined with knights

アンモナイトは絶滅した古代動物で、騎士と合体している

This is also a figurines with a pun

これもダジャレでフィギュアを作っています

So you make art with a combination of two words?

2つの言葉の組み合わせでアートを作るんですね。

In figurine art, is there a diffirence between Japanese and foreign?

フィギュアの場合、日本と海外では違いがあるのでしょうか？

For people making this kind of figurine, the software and the machine is pretty much common worldwide

この手のフィギュアを作っている人にとっては、ソフトもマシンも世界共通で結構なことなのだが

but what makes Japanese ones different are the various subcultures in Japan

しかし、日本のものが違うのは、日本には様々なサブカルチャーがあることです。

Anime is not just for kids but for adults here. Also the religious elements involved and the sense of beauty

アニメは子供だけでなく、ここでは大人も楽しめる。また、宗教的な要素や美意識が絡んでいること

I think there are many artist who grew on these elements from very young age and grew up with it

幼少期からこれらの要素に触れて育ったアーティストは多いと思います。

so I believe quite a various artistic arts are born from there

そこから様々な芸術が生まれると思います。

so people experience the Japanese culture from a very young age. Wonderful

こんにちは、はじめまして。とても素敵なブースがありますね。これを紹介していただけませんか？

We are selling hair bands with horns

角のついたヘアバンドを販売しています

We make it strong and light

強く、軽くする

For the material, the core is made of aluminum wires

素材は、芯材にアルミ線を使用し

for the horns we add wet paper and let it dry and make it hard

角は、濡れた紙を加えて乾燥させ、硬くしたものです。

This is called the Hariko method

これをハリコー方式といいます

When it's dry, we add color on top and done

乾いたら、上から色を付けて完成です

It's a wonderful work of art. Also it's so easy to add on

素晴らしい作品に仕上がっています。また、追加するのもとても簡単です

It feels like it's always been there

いつもそこにあるような気がする

That's another key point I try to emphasize. It's so light

それも、私が大切にしているポイントです。とても軽い

It's so light, like a normal headband

普通のヘッドバンドのように、とても軽いです

It's made of paper, and the inside is hollow so that's why it's so light

紙でできていて、中が空洞なので軽いんです

People abroad come quite a lot asking what this is made of, and the conversation and questions are quite fun

海外の人が「これは何でできているんですか」と結構来るので、会話や質問が結構楽しいです

We have this situation going on, but if you can come to Japan and visit us we'll be very happy
