You know, we got the short cake, we got the KFC, but also now we have christmas markets and we've come to one today we've come to Yokohama christmas market and we're going to see what the food and the things they're selling are like, are they Germans, are they japanese?

ショートケーキやKFCもそうですが、今はクリスマスマーケットもあって、今日は横浜のクリスマスマーケットに来ました。

I don't know, but I kind of want to eat something and I'm half german for those that know, So I'm gonna kind of see what my experiences like versus Germany japan.

私はドイツ人とのハーフなので、ドイツと日本との比較をしてみたいと思っています。

So yeah, I really want to try some glue vine.

そうそう、のり巻きはぜひ食べてみたいですね。

I had it when I was in Germany Germany once and I ate this like every day.

以前、ドイツに行ったときに食べたのですが、これを毎日のように食べていました。

They've got some curry in the ketchup.

It's actually really easy to make at home.

実は、家庭でも簡単に作れるんです。

We're going to do is add your ketchup and curry powder and you actually do that at home.

Yeah Mm reminds me of Germany, I don't eat this kind of sausage very often.

This is actually the 13th year they've held this Yokohama Christmas market and there's heaps of other markets around Tokyo as well.

横浜のクリスマスマーケットは今年で13回目を迎えますが、都内では他にもたくさんのクリスマスマーケットが開催されています。

There's like sky tree.

スカイツリーみたいなのがあるんですよ。

Yeah and there's also something like I've been to, the other one is really nice and stuff.

ええ、それに私が行ったことのあるようなところもありますし、もうひとつは本当に素敵なところですとかね。

We want, I grew up in Australia seeing movies in like a cold christmas.

私はオーストラリアで、寒いクリスマスのような雰囲気の中で映画を観て育ちました。

I always dreamt about it and now I get to experience it kind of, I want a white christmas.

But we took some photos of it because it's a pretzel, although I don't think I've ever eaten a pretzel on the german market before and I feel like, oh yeah, I want to have some mushrooms.

I want my uncle, we finished our, I want that adult hot chocolate because you know what?

I'm an adult, I've earned that title.

I went through chef, I'm 27 to deserve an adult chocolate.

I found something that looks a bit more japanese than everything else.

They have like Frankfurt, like a sausage but with mochi wrapped around it and deep fried.

So that doesn't sound very german to me.

だから、私にはとてもドイツ語には聞こえない。

But yeah, I'm getting an adult.

でもね、大人になってきたんですよ。

So I got a regular hot chocolate that's not so regular because we have some cute reindeer marshmallows with like some, I don't know the marble balls that you can eat.

I feel like at a german christmas market I have never seen such a cute color eating.

You made this story out of nowhere man when you come to a christmas market getting a drink and walking around is the best way to enjoy the atmosphere and the ambiance and in my case getting even a little bit more.

いきなりですが、クリスマスマーケットに来たら、飲み物を飲みながら歩くのが一番、雰囲気も楽しめるし、私の場合、さらにちょっと得した気分です。

I kind of want to look around at some of the stores and see the traditional things are selling.

なんだか、いくつかの店を見て回って、伝統的なものが売れているのを確認したくなりました。

So Emma and I were chatting about how naked and sad the tree behind us.

そこでエマと私は、後ろの木が裸で悲しいね、と話していたんです。

I don't know what you're going to say.

I was like, oh yeah, there's not much going on, it's a few bobbles and stuff but I don't know believes where are the stems, it's just a bit of a sad tree.

私は、ああ、そうなんだ、あまりないんだ、ボツボツとあるんだけど、どこに茎があるのか信じていない、ちょっと寂しい木なんだ、という感じでしたね。

I think when you're living in japan, like christmas is not like, you know the same quality of trees and decorations that you get back home, especially if you're from europe or like, I feel like the U.

日本に住んでいると、クリスマスツリーや飾り付けが、母国にいるときと同じようなクオリティではありません。

Like I don't know there's some places that do it really well, I don't know closer into Tokyo, I've seen some good trees, but this one in particular is a little, apparently I read it was 10 m tall Yeah, great.

One of my favorite things and also one of the saddest things about the market.

私の好きなものの一つであり、また、マーケットで最も悲しいことの一つでもあります。

It's only for a month from 25 November, 25 December, right?

And it's like there's so many things here that you can't access during the rest of the year very easily like the German food, all these products and stuff.

そして、ドイツの食べ物や製品など、他の季節にはなかなかアクセスできないものがたくさんあるんです。

It's very limited, but it makes it feel more special.

And one other thing I like about the Yokohama one is you've got the red brick, this is really famous in the area.

もうひとつ、横浜の店舗で気に入っているのは、赤レンガが使われていることです。これは、地元ではとても有名なんですよ。

The Kalinga is what it's called.

カリンガと呼ばれるものです。

The red brick warehouses on both sides.

両脇には赤レンガの倉庫が。

So you've got that kind of western architecture.

そういう西洋建築があるんですね。

It feels like we've been transported.

まるで運ばれてきたような感覚です。

And we've also got some nonalcoholic blue vine shot behind the camera.

So if you are not wanting to have alcohol you can still have the same goodness.

だから、お酒を飲みたくない人でも、同じようにおいしく食べることができます。

There's a lot of non alcoholic options so you can still get lady without the alcohol.

ノンアルコールのメニューもたくさんあるので、お酒を飲まずにレディになることもできます。

But yeah, this is us finishing up our time in the market.

I do feel like in terms of authenticity it's not quite there but I'm appreciate, I'd be happier that it's here that it's not so thank you Yokohama christmas market for existing.
