So, we're gonna be trying Japanese Kit Kats today.

Japanese Kit Kats? I thought there was only, like, one type of Kit Kat.

日本のキットカット？キットカットは1種類しかないと思っていました。

Oh, I'm so happy; I love Kit Kats, and also, I didn't eat before I came here.

ああ、嬉しい。キットカットが大好きで、しかも、ここに来るまで食べてないです。

Oh, my God, okay, I've seen these all over the internet; I'm actually so excited right now.

なんてことだ！ネットで見ていたので、今とても楽しみです。

Oh, yes, I love Kit Kats, and I love the green tea flavor⏤matcha green tea flavored Kit Kats.

そうそう、キットカットが大好きで、抹茶味、抹茶味のキットカットが大好きです。

I know that there are, like, a lot of crazy flavors that we don't have in the US.

アメリカにはない、クレイジーなフレーバーがたくさんありますよね。

There's gonna be a green tea flavor, which I love.

大好きな抹茶味も出るんですよね。

That's me; I'm half Japanese, so that's perfect.

それは私ですね。私は日本人とのハーフなので、ぴったりです。

I feel like they're gonna put in some really random flavors, stuff that you don't think is very chocolatey,

あまりチョコレートを感じさせないような、ランダムなフレーバーを入れてそうな気がします。

because, you know, Japan does a lot of risky things sometimes.

なぜなら、日本は時に危険なことをたくさんするからです。

There's some crazy flavors, though, so I'm scared of what you're gonna give me.

とんでもないフレーバーもあるので、何を出してくるか怖いです。

I'm real excited about this. Wow.

本当に楽しみです。すごい。

So, here is your first Japanese Kit Kat.

というわけで、1つ目の日本のキットカットをご紹介します。

Okay.

よし。

This actually already looks like green tea ones that I've had, but I'm not sure.

これはもう、緑茶のやつに似てるんですけど、どうなんでしょうね。

I think it's the green tea; ooh, that's so satisfying.

抹茶だと思います、とても満足感があります。

It smells sweet; it smells good.

甘い香りがします。いい匂いです。

It tastes different; tastes like Kit Kat and it tastes, like, a little white chocolatey.

キットカットのような味と、ちょっとホワイトチョコレートのような味がします。

But there's another distinct flavor that I can't pinpoint.

でも、もうひとつ、はっきりしない味があります。

I think I know what that is; I don't like it.

- それが何だかわかるような気がして、嫌なんです。

Right when you eat it, it, like, it hits you, like, it's there.

食べた瞬間に、「あ、これだ」と思うんです。

Yeah, wait, that's not green tea.

ああ、待って、これは抹茶じゃない。

It's not bad, but it's reminding me a lot of sushi now.

不味くはないけど、かなりお寿司を連想させます。

When you're, like, just going at it, it tastes good for a second, then, like, it hits you, like, bam!

ただひたすら食べていると、一瞬おいしいと感じるんですが、そのあと、「バーン！」とくるんです。

Strong in, like, the back of my throat, but I don't know what it is.

喉の奥の方に強い違和感があるんだけど、何だろう？

So, this is a wasabi flavored Kit Kat.

というわけで、わさび味のキットカットでした。

Wasabi flavored Kit Kat? I've actually never had wasabi before, so I couldn't pin this.

わさび味のキットカット？実はわさびを食べたことがないので、ピンと来ませんでした。

I don't think I would get it again, but it's not bad.

もう2度と買わないと思うけど、悪くはないです。

I think it's some sort of fruit, I just can't pinpoint it.

That one's good. It's really sweet and it's not⏤it doesn't have that kick to it like the other one did.

Gosh, I'm scared; this is probably taro.

This is good; it's very sweet.

This is a sweet purple potato Kit Kat.

こちらは甘みのある紫芋のキットカットです。

That did not taste like a potato at all.

全く芋の味がしないです。

That's interesting; how do you turn that into chocolate?

I actually had purple potatoes for the first time, like, last week.

実は、先週初めて紫芋を食べました。

It doesn't taste like it; it's way too sweet to be a purple potato.

味がしないんです。紫芋にしては甘すぎます。

Oh, it's another green one.

Darker green, okay, very nice texture; they're all the same.

I wanna say this is green tea, but like, 'cause you tricked me earlier.

抹茶と言いたいところだけど、さっきに簡単に騙されたから。

This one's, like, a little less sweet than the last one.

これは、１つ前のより少し甘さを抑えたような感じですね。

It was starting to taste, like, cakey, and then it started to taste a little grassy for some reason.

味も、ケーキみたいと思ったら、なぜかちょっと草っぽい味になってきた。

This is green tea; I drink green tea a lot.

Yeah, this one's... this one's tea.

The taste is kind of weird to me, but I like it a lot.

味はちょっと変な感じがしますが、かなり好きです。

It's trying to mix, like, sweet and bitter together, and it's not working out.

甘さと苦さを混ぜようとして、でも上手く行っていないです。

It's definitely very distinctive, and you know that it's that flavor when you bite into it.

確かに特徴的で、噛むとあの味だとわかりますね。

I'm gonna go with matcha.

抹茶だと思います。

- So, yeah, this is a matcha green tea Kit Kat bar. - Yes.

I love it; they're my favorite. I like it better than the chocolate.

大好きです。大好物です。普通のチョコレートより好きです。

When you're initially chewing it, it kinda tastes⏤it kind of takes a second to get the flavor, but I do see green tea now.

噛んでいると、なんとなく味がします⏤味わうのにちょっと時間がかかるけど、今は抹茶の味がします。

And this is the Kit Kat I know and love⏤at least the outside of it.

これは私の知っているキットカットです⏤ 少なくとも見た目は。

These just look like the regular Kit Kats that you buy at the market.

見た目は普通のキットカットにしか見えません。

Oh, my gosh, it smells a little weird.

あら、ちょっと変なにおいがしますね。

This is gonna be a surprise.

これは驚きの展開になりそうです。

Why doesn't that taste familiar? That's... that's like, chocolate and something else.

どうして食べ慣れた味じゃないの？チョコレートと何か他のものを混ぜたような。

What is this? This one is definitely worse than wasabi.

これは何ですか？間違いなくわさびよりひどいです。

Why does this taste like dog food?

どうしてドックフードのような味がするの？

It's got, like, a sort of, like, a bland after taste almost, like after you just had, like, some black coffee.

なんというか、後味が淡白です。ブラックコーヒーを飲んだ後みたいな。

It's, like, a little bit sweet and it tastes a little bit like chocolate, but it kind of has the earthiness of, like, raw cocoa.

ちょっと甘くて、チョコレートのような味がするんだけど、生カカオのような土っぽさがあります。

So, this is an azuki bean or sweet bean jelly Kit Kat.

ということで、これは小豆、または羊羹のキットカットです。

Sweet bean jelly? Overall, it's really good; ten out of ten.

羊羹？全体としては美味しいです、10点満点中10点。

Okay, this is⏤definitely looks like white chocolate.

White chocolate Kit Kat, but there's always a twist.

It almost tastes like how a... how a air freshener smells.

So, this is a rum raisin flavored Kit Kat.

では、これはラムレーズン味のキットカットです。

Oh, my gosh, I⏤my mom and I, we eat the Häagen-Dazs rum raisin ice cream.

なんてことなの、わたし、ママとハーゲンダッツのラムレーズンのアイスクリームを食べるのに。

I think I like the ice cream better, but I probably would eat these from time to time.

私はアイスクリームの方が好きだと思ったけど、多分、これも時々食べると思います。

Yeah, they were all good, especially the wasabi one, surprisingly.

It's really cool how they can make different flavors and have it taste exactly like that flavor they're... they're trying to make.

異なるフレーバーを作りながら、そのフレーバーとまったく同じ味に仕上げることができるのは、本当にクールです。

And how it all looks the same, but tastes different; so, I think it's really cool.

見た目は同じでも味は違う、そんなところがカッコいいと思います。
