As you guys might know from my last video.

前回の動画で皆さんご存知かもしれませんが

I have moved to Kyoto recently and yeah, in short this is the apartment that I got.

最近、京都に引っ越してきたのですが、ええ、要するにこれは私が手に入れたアパートなんです。

So I'm gonna give you guys a quick walkthrough and I'm also going to explain why it's so cheap.

そこで、皆さんに簡単なチュートリアルと、なぜこんなに安いのかを説明します。

Okay, so there's a lot of interesting things here, but let me start at the view.

さて、いろいろと面白いことがあるのですが、まずは景色からご紹介しましょう。

So yeah, that that was my balcony, I have to admit, I do have a pretty neat view from my window, that thing right there of course go straight into my air conditioning right here.

そうそう、あれが私のバルコニーなんですが、正直言って、窓からの景色はとてもきれいなんです。

Which is this bad boy has definitely got me through a lot of really hot days here in September when I arrived it was still like maybe 35-40°. I'm not sure if those numbers are exact, but it was super hot and also super humid as you guys might know.

9月に来たときはまだ35〜40度くらいだったんだけど、この悪い子のおかげで本当に暑い日を乗り切ることができたよ。この数字が正確かどうかはわかりませんが、皆さんもご存知の通り、とても暑く、またとても湿度が高かったのです。

The japanese summer is hot.

日本の夏は暑い。

So it's not only super hot but it's also really, really humid because of the same.

だから、超暑いだけでなく、同じだから本当に、湿度が高いんです。

So it's safe to say that every single japanese home does have at least one if not multiple air conditioning units.

だから、日本の家庭には、少なくとも1台、いや複数台のエアコンがあると言っていい。

Um But anyways, this is the rest of my room as you can see this is the first part of my room, you know my bed.

ええと、とにかく、これが私の部屋の残りの部分です。見ての通り、これは私の部屋の最初の部分で、ベッドがあります。

Uh then I have a, I have a little shelf over there, A lot of people were surprised by this, but coming to japan, I actually brought in my entire like computer.

それから、あそこに小さな棚があるんですが、これには多くの人が驚きましたが、実は日本に来て、コンピュータのようなものを全部持ち込んでしまったんです。

Uh sorry for the cable management, it's really the best I can do.

ケーブルの取り回しが悪くて申し訳ないです。

You know, I brought my entire PC.

あのね、PC全部持ってきたんだよ。

Then I bought a really cheap monitor at a local store here in kyoto and yeah, it works perfectly.

それから、京都の地元の店で本当に安いモニターを買ったんですが、ええ、完璧に動きますよ。

I didn't even need a um, what's it called?

えーと、なんていうんだっけ、もいらなかった。

A transfer mater.

転校生マター。

The main reason why I brought my entire Pc is because I do a lot of editing, you know, if you guys know I make videos and yeah, I also play games.

PCを全部持ってきた一番の理由は、編集をたくさんするからです。ご存知のように、私はビデオを作ったり、ゲームもします。

So you know I mean and then you know what I've got above my desk is a map of Kyoto, a map of my college campus, my schedule.

机の上には京都の地図、大学のキャンパスの地図、スケジュール表があります。

And then this is like obviously dura poster, this is from monday to sunday and it's like sticky notes, right?

そして、これは明らかにデュラのポスターのようなもので、これは月曜日から日曜日まで、付箋のようなものですね。

And I just basically stick in there.

そして、私は基本的にそこに張り付くだけです。

Anything that I need to do or need to plan out.

やるべきこと、計画しなければならないことがあれば何でも。

So I don't forget it here.

だから、ここでは忘れないようにしています。

For example, edit the video and actually finish it and buy a new pen because yeah, obviously I think when you have your own place it's really important to put stuff on your wall, even if you don't really use it.

例えば、ビデオを編集して完成させたり、新しいペンを買ったり......。

Like for example, I don't really need that map of kyoto there.

例えば、そこにある京都の地図は本当に必要ないんです。

But my landlord gave it to me and I was like, okay, let me put that on my wall just like, so just so I mean I still use google maps, Okay, don't get me wrong, but like blank walls are make it go crazy and up here above the bed, I've got a little shelf, you know with some, you know, pills, um some electronics, I don't know, books.

でも、大家さんがくれたので、壁に貼ってみました。

This fuckingo anger had some masks and just like stuff that I don't have anywhere else to put.

このクソみたいな怒りは、マスクや、他に置く場所がないようなものを持っていた。

It's a pretty good like it's a pretty long shelf, you know?

かなり長い棚みたいなものですからね。

Then here the first sliding door actually is not a different room, it's just my closet.

それから、この最初の引き戸は、実は別の部屋ではなく、私のクローゼットなんです。

Yeah, I only have one uh sort of this thing, I'm not sure how it's called, but there's like nothing like I can't hang stuff.

そうですね、1つだけ......こういうの、何て言うのかわからないんですけど、物をかけられないようなことはないです。

Wait what?

何？

Okay, this is actually the first time I'm seeing this.

なるほど、実はこれ、初めて見るんです。

Yeah, there's just not any other shelves where I could put stuff so nicely folded like this, it just fits here perfectly.

そうそう、こんな風にきれいに畳んで置ける棚は他にないからね、ここにぴったりと収まるんだ。

And then another sliding door that reveals my kitchen, My humble little kitchen.

そして、もうひとつの引き戸を開けると、私の質素なキッチンが現れます。

Now, this is actually really cool.

さて、これは実はとてもクールなことなんです。

Well I've got a microwave, I've got a fridge, a freezer, I've got cabinets, you know, So plenty plenty of space for stuff.

電子レンジも冷蔵庫も冷凍庫もあるし、キャビネットもあるから、物を置くスペースは十分ある。

I've got a stove.

ストーブがあるんです。

Yeah, this is I needed to remind myself because this is not an induction stove.

そう、これはIHクッキングヒーターではないので、自分に言い聞かせる必要があったんです。

This is actually gas, you know?

これ、実はガスなんですよ。

So it's like, you know, it's like, you know, so I needed to put a sign here to like remind myself to turn off the gas every time I'm done using the stove because one time I forgot and it was open for like eight out 10 hours.

だから、コンロを使い終わったら必ずガスを止めるように、ここに看板を立てる必要がありました。

But anyways.

でも、とにかく

Yeah, I do have to remember to turn it up every time.

ええ、毎回忘れずに音量を上げていますよ。

But yeah, really cool kitchen, the pan and everything, the plates, the utensils were all all here so I didn't have to bring anything of my own.

でも、キッチンはとてもクールで、フライパンもお皿も調理器具もすべて揃っていて、何も持っていく必要がなかったんです。

Oh this is something I need to show you.

ああこれは見せないといけないものだ。

This is something I have in my kitchen almost at all times.

これは、私のキッチンにほぼ常備しているものです。

It is called choco choco.

チョコチョコと呼ばれるものです。

It is basically this like chocolate bread, like bread with chocolate chips in it.

基本的にこれはチョコパンのようなもので、パンの中にチョコチップが入ったようなものです。

It's really good for breakfast.

朝食には本当に良いですね。

So I have this in my kitchen almost always.

だから、私のキッチンにはほとんどいつもこれが置いてあるんです。

Then some pre made rice, you know what it is because I didn't buy a rice korean and then the last and some would say the most important room in my apartment is this little bathroom, Japanese bathrooms work in a way that it's literally all connected.

そして最後に、私のアパートで最も重要な部屋は、この小さなバスルームです。日本のバスルームは、文字通りすべてがつながっています。

Like I don't know how to explain it but it's like a little pod, you know, the whole room is basically the shower.

どう説明したらいいかわからないんですが、小さなさやのようなもので、基本的に部屋全体がシャワーになっているんです。

So you've got this here, you know, it's all like there's a drain right there.

つまり、ここに排水口があるようなものです。

I don't know if you can get the feel of it through a video but basically it's like a pod, The ceiling is lower than the rest of the apartment.

動画では伝わらないかもしれませんが、基本的にはポッドのようなもので、天井が他の部屋より低くなっています。

But yeah, nice little cozy shower, you know with the body soap, shampoo and conditioner all from 7 11.

でも、ボディーソープ、シャンプー、コンディショナーなど、すべて7.11で揃えた、居心地の良いシャワーです。

Very cool.

とてもクールです。

Actually most of the stuff that I buy is from 7 11.

実は、私が買うものはほとんど7 11のものなんです。

So here I've got the light and the fan as well and when I want to take a hot shower, I just turn it off right here, you know?

ここに照明と扇風機があり、熱いシャワーを浴びたいときは、ここでスイッチを切ればいいんです。

Yeah, I usually just keep it at 30 38.

ええ、普段は30 38にとどめています。

Oh yeah, this is something that I think I didn't explain.

そうそう、これは説明不足だったと思うんです。

So in Japan there's a culture of a so called gang, can I think a lot of you guys probably already know this, but it's basically a like a step down where of course like you take off your shoes because walking in your shoes in your apartment is a big, big, big damage.

日本にはギャングと呼ばれる文化があり、皆さんはもうご存知だと思いますが、基本的にステップダウンするようなもので、アパートで靴を履いて歩くと大きな、大きな、大きなダメージを受けるので、もちろん靴を脱ぎます。

Okay, so that's something to definitely keep in mind.

なるほど、それはぜひとも覚えておきたいところですね。

There's also again, can at a law lot of like traditional japanese restaurants where you really have to take off your shoes before you enter.

また、日本の伝統的なレストランでは、入る前に靴を脱がなければならないことがよくあります。

So definitely keep that in mind if that's not something that's normal in your culture.

もし、あなたの文化でそれが普通でないのなら、絶対に覚えておいてください。

Another thing that I wanted to show you guys is that okay?

もうひとつ、皆さんにお見せしたいのは、大丈夫ですか？

So this is my cabinet for expendables.

だから、これは私のエクスペンダブルズのキャビネットなんです。

But what I wanted to show you is that in Japan, every city or every prefecture let's say has their own garbage system.

しかし、私がお見せしたかったのは、日本では各都市、あるいは各都道府県に独自のゴミシステムがあるということです。

So here in Kyoto, this is one of them that you have to use this one.

だから、ここ京都では、これを使わなければいけないというのがあるんです。

You can use either for plastics, like plastic wrappers or plastic bags, whatever or you can use it for like all combined bottles, cans and glass bottles and you can't mix it.

ラップやレジ袋などのプラスチックにも使えますし、ボトルや缶、ガラス瓶などにも使えますし、混ぜることもできません。

You can't put plastic wrappers and plastic bottles together.

プラスチック包装紙とペットボトルを一緒にしてはいけない。

Okay, you have to separate it actually if you don't, they're probably not going to do anything because come on, but like, you should, everybody does it.

でも、そうしてください。みんなそうしています。

And this one, this is the second type, which is not for plastic bottles or any any plastic or any cans or whatever, it's like for miscellaneous trash.

これは2番目のタイプで、ペットボトルやプラスチック、缶などではなく、雑多なゴミのためのものです。

So basically like small pieces of paper or I don't know, banana peels or whatever, you just put it there.

だから、基本的には小さな紙切れとか、バナナの皮とか、そういうものを置くだけでいいんです。

So basically if you want to throw out trash here in kyoto or in Japan, you have to put in either one of those bags, you can buy them at any ca convenience store.

だから、京都や日本でゴミを捨てるときは、どちらかの袋に入れなければなりません。

So very convenient.

だからとても便利です。

But yeah, the whole city uses it if you want to like put your trash in the like public, like huge container for it.

でも、そうですね、ゴミを公共の巨大な容器に入れたいなら、街全体がそれを使っています。

It has to be in one of those bags.

あの袋の中に入っているはずだ。

So yeah, that's something that we definitely don't have in europe.

これは、ヨーロッパにはないものです。

I feel like in europe everybody throws out trash in whatever plastic bag they have, you know, and nobody really questions it.

ヨーロッパでは、誰もが自分の持っているビニール袋にゴミを捨て、誰もそれを不思議に思わない。

So here here there's this really interesting system for it.

そのために、ここには実に興味深い仕組みがあるのです。

Okay, so yeah, that's my apartment, it's pretty big.

そうそう、これが私のアパート、結構広いんですよ。

Honestly, like for me, the amount of space I get is definitely sufficient.

正直なところ、私にとっては、この程度のスペースで十分なのです。

Now, the reason why I can get it for this price is because my landlord, he's like somehow, like acquainted with my university.

さて、なぜこの値段で買えるかというと、大家さんが、なんとなく、私の大学と知り合いみたいだからです。

So every year he actually rents his apartment almost exclusively to exchange students and study abroad students that are here for a short period of time, you know, from like one semester to two semesters.

だから、毎年、1学期から2学期までの短期留学の学生や交換留学生にだけアパートを貸している。

So it's like, he's a really cool guy and I think he just does this because he seems like he's genuinely interested in like people from other cultures and other countries.

彼は本当にクールな男で、異文化や他国の人々に純粋に興味があるからこそ、このようなことをやっているのだと思います。

He likes to help out study abroad students so that, that's really cool.

彼は留学生の手助けをするのが好きで、それはとてもクールなことです。

Anyways, this is going to be my base from now on while I'm here in Japan, if you guys have any ideas of how I can improve my apartment, let me know in the comments, let me know if you have any ideas, I'm definitely thinking of making this like a place where I can just freely make videos.
