You know what Kyoto is famous for sweets and you know what we're sweet girls.

京都はスイーツで有名ですが、私たちがスイーツ女子であることはご存知でしょう。

So we're gonna go grab some sweets from three really unique spots that you can find around kyoto.

そこで今回は、京都にある3つのユニークなスポットのスイーツを食べに行くことにしました。

We're gonna eat some traditional sweets, agasshi, why meaning japanese gasoline and sweets right now we're at, which is the Imperial Palace and did you know you can eat sweets here?

伝統的なお菓子、アガシ（日本のガソリンとお菓子の意味）を食べましょう。

Yeah, I didn't, did you know you can eat sweets.

そうなんです、知らなかったんです、お菓子が食べられるって知ってました？

Hell no, I didn't.

そんなことはない。

And now I do.

そして今、私はそうしている。

So let's go eat some sweets at the Imperial Palace in the middle of the Imperial Palace with some very loud piano.

では、皇居のど真ん中で、大音量のピアノを聴きながら、スイーツを食べに行こうか。

So hopefully this place is super zen.

You can see outside and see all these gardens around and it's super beautiful.

I just love the design, Very japanese temple, you might have all those windows.

It's very modern.

It's clearly very fresh style and we have ordered a bunch of different tea sweets.

明らかにとても新鮮なスタイルで、いろいろなお茶菓子を注文しています。

You know kyoto very, very famous for green tea, roasted green tea comes in so many different forms.

京都は緑茶の産地としてとても有名ですが、焙じ茶にもさまざまな形がありますよね。

So we have here a tamagotchi which is raw.

ということで、ここでは生身のたまごっちをご紹介します。

It's freshly made sweet and they change depending on the season.

出来立てのスイーツで、季節によって変わるそうです。

So right now we have one that is summer and I asked the stuff and we're not sure what it is but it looks like she's like, sorry we haven't got the instruction manual yet and I'm like, okay, so I'm assuming this is a green mommy g leaf, let's go with that.

それで、今、1つは夏で、ものを聞いたら、何だかよくわからないけど、ごめんね、まだ説明書がないみたいで、じゃあ、これは緑のママgリーフだと思うから、それでいこうよ、ということになったんです。

And then a freshly whisk much, you've got to have the match to pair with the sweet and there's no sugar usually in the tees here so you can have a better kind of tea and a spy sweet sweet.

そして、泡立てたばかりの甘いものとマッチングさせなければなりません。ここのティーには通常砂糖が入っていないので、より良い種類の紅茶とスパイ・スウィートを楽しむことができます。

We got some other things as well.

その他にも、いろいろなものを手に入れました。

So I got this thing called a hockey.

それで、ホッカイロというものを手に入れました。

Usually Noriaki is like two little pancakes with red bean in the middle, but this one they put ice cream and paste, red bean whipped cream and some mochi balls.

普通、のり焼きは小さなパンケーキを2枚重ねて、真ん中に小豆を乗せるのですが、今回はアイスクリームとペースト、小豆のホイップクリーム、そして餅玉を乗せました。

It looks really, really good.

本当に、美味しそうです。

I got a half a, we've got a combination of some beautiful ice cream cream jelly and then also some balls, red theme and then away for, so I guess we should dig in.

The flavor is so strong but it's sweet and creamy.

I think this is a super unique experience because you get to have these awesome sweet but also be in the palace grounds to think like thousands of years ago, the royal japanese family was living here.

One of the interesting things, which is the name of the imperial house in japanese is that people are commuting.

面白いのは、日本では皇居と呼ばれているのですが、人々が通勤していることです。

You see people riding their bikes walking through carrying shopping bags.

自転車に乗った人が買い物袋を持って歩いているのを見かけますね。

I actually did that when I was a radical.

実は私も過激派だった頃、そうしていました。

So that's really cool.

だから、本当にかっこいいんです。

Honestly I don't know how many kilometers it is but it's a big one and I just love how peaceful it is.

正直なところ、何キロメートルあるのかわかりませんが、大きなもので、とにかく平和なところが気に入っています。

Especially we came right at 10 a.m. So there's not a lot of people I could imagine a week weekend, it could be a bit more and it's free to come in the imperial ground.

That's only a three minute walk from the station which is super easy to access from Kyoto station.

Just like one train line.

Each building in the grounds of the Imperial Palace has a lot of history to it.

皇居の敷地内にある建物には、それぞれ歴史があるんです。

This building itself also has a lot of history to it but it's complicated.

この建物自体にも歴史があるのですが、複雑なんです。

You know this was a different families and guests of the imperial family right now.

今とは別の家族、皇室のお客様だったんでしょ。

We're at the Con Oy residence which is very detailed.

細部にまでこだわったコンオイ邸にいます。

So if you do want to learn more about it, come here and we've got a lot of signage in english, we are drinking latte roasted green tea and this is honestly Emma and I have discussed this, this is our favorite, it's the best if you guys like green tea, you have to try roasted green tea.

ラテの焙じ茶を飲んでいますが、これは正直言ってエマと私が話し合ったもので、私たちのお気に入りです。

There's something about it, it doesn't really taste so much like green tea completely different flavor but it's still a bit earthy, still got but it's got this like roasted element to it that just lightens it up a little bit really good.

緑茶の味とは全く違いますが、少し土の香りがして、焙煎されたような風味があり、味を少し明るくしてくれます。

It comes in snack form as well but I think it's one of the lesser known ones.

スナック菓子にもなっていますが、あまり知られていないものの一つだと思います。

You have to, you have to try this much, you've made it before.

これくらいやってみないと、作ったことあるでしょ？

I have actually made by using white beans usually and mixing it with.

実は、普段は白いんげん豆を使って、それを混ぜて作っているんです。

That's how it gets that kind of almost chewy texture.

そうすることで、モチモチとした食感になるんです。

They always give you this wooden fork to cut it with which I always struggle with this one.

いつもこの木のフォークで切るように渡されるのですが、これがいつも苦労します。

So a nice kind of texture to it.

だから、いい感じの質感になるんです。

This one's got much on the outside and inside we have the white bean chewy on the outside.

こちらは外側が多く、内側は白玉のほくほく感がありますね。

But also some maybe it's like broken up rice paper very slightly sweet on the outside and then the bean has a lot of sugar, that's the sweetest bit.

でも、ライスペーパーを砕いたような、外側がほんのり甘くて、豆の部分に砂糖がたくさん入っていて、そこが一番甘いというのもありますね。

So now I'm going to balance the sugar with the butter frothy because they whisk it so nicely.

それで今度は、きれいに泡立ててくれるから、バターを泡立てた状態で砂糖のバランスをとるんだ。

Yeah, this has been a wonderful start to the day.

I think this is a super unique spot.

Honestly some of the best green tea sweets I've ever had.

I feel like if you aren't like a big fan of this is a great introduction because they're light easy and they're fun texture and it's definitely japanese.

Yeah, because the thing is, is different things and I get so confused cause some of it is like maci with a little filling and it's all like, and some of it is super crispy, crunchy.

Hello, everybody welcome back to day two in Kyoto and we're just on our way to a little cafe in John, it's so hot.

こんにちは、皆さん京都の2日目へようこそ！ジョンの小さなカフェに行く途中です、とても暑いです。

Oh my gosh, the heat never stops.

いやはや、暑さが止まりませんね。

But neither does the party.

しかし、党もそうだ。

もしもし？

We made it inside the cafe.

カフェの中に入りました。

We are at a cafe called.

というカフェにいます。

It's a cute quiet little place located in the middle of john and it's down one of the side streets so actually we couldn't film on the way in here because they're very, very strict about filming in because of all of the Michael and you've got to be really careful.

ジョンの真ん中にある静かでかわいい場所なんですが、脇道に入ったところにあるので、実はここに来る途中は撮影ができなかったんです。

I think it's because a lot of tourism and people just putting cameras in their faces.

観光客が多く、人々がカメラを顔に当てているだけだからでしょう。

So when you come here just respect the laws and then or you'll get fined a lot of money.

だから、ここに来るときは法律を守って、それからでないと多額の罰金を取られることになる。

So yeah, don't film and cheon but were allowed to film inside here and it's really great.

We've ordered some things off the menu and we had a little chat to one of the cafe owners and we found out that her family were actually Michael and also we have this beautiful little garden behind us which is super nice and the geisha come here in the evening.

メニューからいくつか注文し、カフェのオーナーの一人と少し話をしたところ、彼女の家族が実はマイケルだったということがわかりました。

I don't know like normal customers can come in.

Yeah, because the cafe closes at five p.m. I'm excited.

It feels very traditional, authentic and I've never been to a cafe or restaurant in.

I felt like when I first came and visit again.

初めて来た時のような気持ちで、また訪れたいと思いました。

I thought it was very hard and maybe expensive but there's actually affordable places.

とても大変で、もしかしたら高いかもしれないと思っていたのですが、実は手頃な価格のところもあるんですね。

I feel just very intimidated when I come to you because it's like a lot of time.

ただ、時間がたくさんあるようなものなので、来るときはとても恐縮してしまいます。
