The title of this video is not Clickbait but I have fooled you in yet another way because I didn't just get beef.

Part of this video will be me explaining how you get the beef and assorted goods by doing your taxes and the other part will be me eating the beef.

So the thing that I'm talking about is called, which means hometown tax, you gotta pay your taxes right?

But why don't you pay them early and get free beef?

So so you live in Tokyo and when you do taxes, you taxes go to Tokyo and Tokyo uses that money to do stuff.

東京に住んでいて、税金を払うと東京に税金が行き、東京はそのお金で何かをしているわけです。

Great.

素晴らしい。

But maybe Tokyo has too many people paying taxes and maybe other prefectures don't have that many people paying taxes.

でも、東京は税金を払う人が多すぎるのかもしれないし、他の県はそんなに税金を払う人がいないのかもしれませんね。

So why don't you spend some of your taxes that would go to Tokyo and send them to another prefecture?

だったら、東京に行くはずの税金の一部を他県に回せばいいじゃないですか。

Like Oita Prefecture, Nagasaki, Miyazaki not gonna the other ones.

大分県とか、長崎とか、宮崎とか......他の県は無理か。

And because they're so grateful that you send some of your tax money to that prefecture, you're going to a little present and the president can be something from that prefecture.

そして、その県に税金の一部を送ってくれるのはとてもありがたいことなので、ちょっとしたプレゼントや社長がその県の何かであったりするわけです。

So let's say I give a bunch of money to Miyazaki Prefecture and I say, hey, I would like some beef in return for that money.

だから、私が宮崎県に大金を寄付して、そのお返しに牛肉が欲しいと言ったとしましょう。

Then you get the beef and because I'm going to be paying that tax money anyway, it's free, but you are paying your taxes early.

そうすると、牛肉が手に入って、どうせその税金を払うのだからと、無料なのに、早く税金を払っていることになる。

So that's the thing, you do pay for it initially, but then you get that amount taken off your taxes when you pay them the next year, we interrupt this video for a quick announcement.

And then when you do your taxes, you submit those certificates and you get that amount taken off of your taxes that you would have to pay otherwise.

So I did this and throughout this year I've been enjoying all of the things that I ordered and I filming it.

It's actually really hard to find blackberries in japan and these ones are grown in japan but I super rarely find them.

Occasionally, supermarkets have them and usually they're pretty expensive.

I want to get too big bags, two kg of blackberries and be able to cook with them.

So those are my choices for my hometown tax.
