What's my whole process with languages and what study methods I use.

私の語学の全体的な流れや、どんな勉強法をしているのか。

So in this video I'm going to be trying to learn as much of a one random language as possible and you guys will be able to see my whole process with it during the week for this video.

I'm also going to be partnering up with Yuzu, which according to many youtube reviews is the best language learning app out there.

So I want to put that to the test.

The plan is that I'm gonna be using my own methods alongside with because I really believe that when you're learning a foreign language you should really learn it from more than one source, at least from the beginning.

You need way more input to kind of get your brain used to the different language, different grammar.

Maybe the language that you choose will have completely different sounds from the language that you're used to.

So I'm looking at their website and they offer english, spanish, french, german, japanese, italian, dutch, Russian, chinese, Arabic, Turkish, Portuguese polish and korean from these.

そこで、ホームページを見ていると、この中から英語、スペイン語、フランス語、ドイツ語、日本語、イタリア語、オランダ語、ロシア語、中国語、アラビア語、トルコ語、ポルトガル語、ポーランド語、韓国語が提供されているようです。

I already speak quite a few of them, which honestly makes me feel good that at least I can speak some really useful languages that people want to learn.

I'm kind of thinking about choosing either Russian or italian and the reason is because I can already speak Slavic languages like check, which would help me a lot with Russian and I can also speak some romance languages like spanish and Portuguese, which would help me with italian if you know anything about languages you know that not every single language is completely distinct from the others, there are different language families and branches within them.

また、スペイン語やポルトガル語などのロマンス語も話すことができるので、イタリア語の勉強にもなります。

The reason why I'm thinking of doing it like this is because I want to speed up the whole process at least a little bit because I only have one week to make as much progress as possible alright, I think I'm gonna go with italian because now that I think about it, I do have italian speaking friends and I'm going to have a real opportunity to visit the country.

なぜこのように考えているかというと、1週間しかないので、少しでも早く進めたいからです。

So yeah, week of italian, I also want to preface this by saying that I have never learned italian in my life, I have no experiences with it, I only know a couple like phrases that my friend taught me but like that's it.

そうそう、イタリア語週間ですが、前置きが長くなりましたが、私は今までイタリア語を習ったことがなく、経験もありません。

Alright, so I know that I said that I'm making it a little bit easier on myself by choosing a language that is similar to some that I already know but it's not like you know it's only similar, it's not the same, it's a whole different language so it's not like I won't have to put any effort.

でも、似ているだけで同じではない、まったく別の言語だから、努力をしなくてもいいというわけでもない。

So the first thing I'm gonna do is I'm gonna search the top 1000 most used Italian words actually did the same thing before I went on my student exchange to China to search the most common words and get a little bit familiar now, I don't think I'm going to remember all of these words, frankly I'm not even going to try to memorize every single one of them, but maybe out of the 1000 I'll get 40 50 like stuck in my head maybe because I like how they sound or maybe because they remind me of something after that.

まず最初にすることは、最もよく使われるイタリア語の単語トップ1000を検索することです。実は、中国への交換留学に行く前にも同じことをして、最も一般的な単語を検索して少し慣れました。これらの単語をすべて覚えるつもりはありません。正直、一つ一つを覚えようとも思っていませんが、1000語のうち、40～50語が頭に残るでしょう。その響きが好きだから、あるいはその後に何かを思い出すからかもしれません。

I also want to search some videos of just italian speaking on Youtube just to kind of like dip my toes in the language kind of get a feel of it.

また、Youtubeでイタリア語のスピーキングビデオをいくつか検索して、言語に足を踏み入れるような感じで、その感触を確かめたいと思っています。

And finally I'm also going to start my first lesson on bouzou which is called chow ciao, mm Good morning, it's day two.

そしてついに私もブーズーの最初のレッスンを始めます。これはチャウチャウ（mm Good morning, it's two）と呼ばれています。

Okay, so there are definitely some similarities between Italian and the romance languages that I know, even though I personally feel like that Italian compared with them sounds completely different.

なるほど、確かにイタリア語と私の知っているロマンス語は似ているところがありますが、個人的にはそれらと比較したイタリア語は全く違うように聞こえます。

The stress accent of the words is placed completely differently and the overall rhythm of the language is nothing like in Spanish or Portuguese Les Abby to Verona, I'm right now at my 15th lesson in Buso just started the 16th and I gotta say I'm pretty surprised at how well the app works.

単語のストレスアクセントの置き方が全く違うし、言葉の全体的なリズムもスペイン語やポルトガル語とは全く違う Les Abby to Verona, 私は今、Busoで15回目のレッスンを受けていて、16回目を始めたところですが、このアプリの機能にはかなり驚いています。

Not only that each lesson it teaches you new grammar and vocab to work with, but it also gives you these little fun facts about the country which actually helps a lot with immersion or like um it gives you like a cultural background of why some things are set in the way they are and what makes it different from english for example today I'm really going to focus on bouzou because I really want to see like where I can be with my progress by the end of the day and I also want to do one more thing today which is to remember the most important preposition connecting words and also like quick question words like what, how, where, why and just write it all down because I feel like now that I've learned a couple of words and like the basic sentence structure I think with prepositions and connections, I will be able to form my own simple sentences which I think would be really cool, so I'm gonna try doing that and yeah we'll see how it goes.

Okay it's day three, I didn't really have time to record today in the morning because I had some stuff to do during the day but I did continue learning, I also just found out that italian has 21 tenses which honestly as Italians would say funk, that I don't even believe that every single one of them is used in daily conversations that some pretentious ship.

What I usually find is that you don't really need to dress tenses the way they teach you in school.

私がいつも思うのは、学校で教わるような時制の着こなしは必要ない、ということです。

First of all it's really boring, it's it's probably the most boring thing in any language for me that's why I like chinese so much.

まず第一に、中国語は本当に退屈です。私にとって、おそらくどの言語よりも退屈で、だからこそ中国語が好きなのです。

And second of all I think it's really hard to memorize it like that.

そして第二に、そのように暗記するのは本当に大変だと思います。

Like you don't need to memorize all the tenses in a language to start having basic conversations.

例えば、ある言語の時制を全部覚えなくても、基本的な会話はできるようになるんです。

I think what you really need is to be able to express the present, the future, The past may be continuous, these four tenses in the most simple way and then you can learn the others through just conversation or listening practice and you will hear how the verbs are changing and naturally I think you will begin to pick it up by the way.

必要なのは、現在、未来、過去が連続する場合、この4つの時制を最もシンプルに表現できるようになることで、あとは会話やリスニングの練習で、動詞がどう変化していくかを聞きながら、自然と身に付いていくものだと思うんです。

I'm right now on less than 34 of buso.

私は今、ブッソの34弱を使用しています。

But I also skipped some lessons.

でも、レッスンをさぼったこともあります。

Like I did less than six, seven, less than 100.

6人、7人、100人未満でやったような。

Just because I felt like some of the lessons they weren't that useful for what I need to learn right now and it's cool that you can like skip between them and you know like return when you need to revise something so I just really skip back and forward in them and yeah I feel like I can already start to express myself in some ways.

Okay, I'm going to be completely honest with you guys, the more I progress with italian so far, the more I stopped searching for any other methods and just stuck with the yuzu when I talked to their team about this promotion on my channel, we agreed that I can just showcase myself using bouzou throughout the week but that I would be free to use any of my other methods.

正直に言うと、イタリア語を勉強すればするほど、他の方法を探すのをやめて、ゆずを使うようになったんだ。このプロモーションについて彼らのチームと話したとき、一週間を通してゆずを使って自分を紹介することはできるけど、他の方法を使うのは自由だということになったんだ。

But the thing is that because who doesn't only teach you the language, but it also gives you interesting fact about the culture, so you really feel like you're learning something that real people somewhere in Italy actually use in the daily lives.

ただ、語学だけでなく、文化に関する興味深い事実も教えてくれるので、イタリアのどこかの国の人々が実際に日常生活で使っているものを学んでいるような気分になれることです。

So I got to say that it actually substitutes my other methods quite well and even though because who doesn't offer maybe as large of a catalog of languages as other apps, I actually think that it might be a good thing because when you use the app you can really tell how much time went into like preparing and making the courses as immersive and as personalized as possible.

他のアプリほど多くの言語カタログを提供しているわけではありませんが、アプリを使えば、どれだけ時間をかけて準備し、可能な限り没入感のある、個人に合ったコースを作っているかがわかるので、それはいいことかもしれません。

So as an experienced language learner, I gotta say like a really good job on the app.

Now, one more thing that I wanted to do today is I wanna find some songs in italian not necessarily to like go and look up and translate the lyrics even though I'm probably going to do that as well, but I really just want to sing something like a chorus of a song in italian or something like that, just like to have fun with it kung fu okay, boys and girls, it's day six, sorry for my hair, my hair is really long, isn't it?

さて、もう一つ、今日やりたいことは、イタリア語の歌を見つけたいんだ。歌詞を調べて翻訳する必要はないんだけど、多分それもやるだろうし、ただイタリア語の歌のコーラスとか、そういうのを楽しみたいんだ。

You can kind of see my hair growing throughout this week but it's like I need, I need a haircut anyways.

Yeah, it's day six now I didn't really have time to record yesterday because I just had a lot of stuff going on but of course I did learn off camera, don't worry, I did learn, I gotta say that I'm like 70 80% sure that I'll continue learning italian even after this video, like at least once in a while, you know, I'll check up on it.

昨日はいろいろあって録画する時間がなかったんだけど、もちろんカメラの前では勉強したよ。

I also realized that this is like the first time that I really sat down and learn and progress in a language without a teacher and yeah, I feel like I'm doing pretty well so far, I don't know, anyways today, what I have on the agenda is I want to learn filler words from my experience.

そして、これは私が先生なしで本当に座って学び、言語を進歩させた初めてのことのようだとも思いました。

It's really important to learn what kind of filler words the native speakers of a language use because then if you use the same filler words as natives would to connect your sentences instead of your own sounds like um which might not even exist in that language, people might not even use those sounds.

なぜなら、その言語には存在しないかもしれないumのような独自の音の代わりに、ネイティブスピーカーが使うようなフィラーワードを使って文章をつなぐと、人々はその音すら使わなくなるかもしれないからです。

Um it makes you sound more fluent, more natural.

ええと、より流暢に、より自然に聞こえるようになります。

Okay, so here on this website, I'm going to study this a little bit more, but like comedy also one more thing that I want to add that I forgot to mention previously, but it's a really cool feature, lets me write my own little prompt in italian, like I can write whatever I want, no choosing prewritten work, I can actually write whatever I want in the app and then a native speaker of Italian that's also learning something on bouzou will help me and correct what I've written.

このウェブサイトでは、もう少し勉強するつもりですが、もう一つ、お笑いのように、以前言い忘れたのですが、本当にクールな機能で、イタリア語で自分自身の小さなプロンプトを書くことができます。

That feature is so helpful, especially if you don't live in the country which learn which you're learning and don't have anybody to like correct you or help you with your language expression.

この機能は、特に学習している国に住んでいなくて、自分の言語表現を直してくれたり、助けてくれる人がいない場合に、とても役に立ちますね。

It's cool because there's a whole community of learners on busses that help each other.

バスには学習者のコミュニティがあり、お互いに助け合っているので、とてもクールです。

Okay, so the week is over or like this is the last day, I'm not even going to tell you on what lesson I am on you because I really skipped a lot.

Like whenever I felt like I don't need repetition anymore or like when it was a topic that I didn't find useful at that moment, which is really cool that like they have a tab for grammar notes and you can look through it and basically hand pick what you want to learn.
