I found what might be one of the most unique places I've ever seen.

It's like, it's not a hotel, this is actually their homes, let's jump right in and check it out, Cheerio pretty excited to show this one.

ホテルではなく、ここは実際に彼らの家なんだ、すぐに飛び込んで確認しようという感じです。

It is insanely affordable.

めちゃめちゃお得です。

We're gonna start by taking off our shoes and this is what the area looks like.

Full confession usually surprises people for all my time in Japan.

日本での生活で、いつも驚かれるのが「告白」です。

I've never stayed at a capsule hotel once in my entire life and wow, this is what the space is like.

生まれてこの方、一度もカプセルホテルに泊まったことがないのですが、すごい、こんな空間があるんですね。

Now there is more storage space spread throughout this place that I will show you later on.

さて、この場所にはまだまだ収納スペースが広がっているので、後ほどご紹介します。

I think the short term, I could probably imagine myself living here my first ever apartment in Japan that I lived in for a year.

短期的には、日本で初めて1年間住んだマンションに住んでいる自分を想像することができるかもしれません。

Well obviously being an actual room with higher ceilings was only about 2 to 2.5 the size of this room here.

明らかに天井の高い実際の部屋は、この部屋の2～2.5倍程度の広さしかありませんでした。

It was insanely tiny and I lived there for a year because I was never home, but in one of our previous videos, we met Okazaki San who lives in a very small space.

めちゃくちゃ狭くて、家にいないから1年間住んでいたのですが、以前の動画で、すごく狭いところに住んでいる岡崎サンに会いました。

She's a design student and her view on things really brought a new perspective to the video and so I actually brought her along today and I want to go grab her now and see if we can't get her reaction to this and how she would use it.

彼女はデザインを学ぶ学生で、彼女の視点はビデオに新しい視点をもたらしてくれました。そこで、実は今日彼女を連れてきたのですが、今から彼女をつかまえて、これに対する彼女の反応や使い方などを聞いてみたいと思います。

Just a few interesting notes on this place.

この場所について、ちょっと面白いことを書いておきます。

Not only are there a bunch of capsules but the building also has multiple floors.

カプセルの数だけでなく、建物も複数階建てになっています。

Were lucky enough to get permission to film on this floor while everybody is out for the morning and all the capsules are handmade.

幸運なことに、このフロアでの撮影許可を得ることができたのですが、この間はみんな朝から出かけていて、カプセルはすべて手作りです。

And for some reason the company seems to be really proud of that fact.

そして、なぜかその事実をとても誇りに思っているようです。

Not entirely sure why.

I asked Pakistan if she thought she'd be able to live here herself.

And amazingly this place is only around 200 give or take a month and you might end up why that called it.

そして驚くことにここは1ヶ月で200前後しかなく、なぜそう呼ぶのかということになりかねない。

You need to cough it up.

咳をする必要があります。

Japan does have plenty of bigger apartments by the way.

ところで、日本にはもっと大きなマンションがたくさんあります。

Like this place that I just moved into here.

ここに引っ越してきたばかりの場所とか。

It was all the way to three or four bedrooms.

3ベッドルーム、4ベッドルームまでありました。

It's got two balconies.

バルコニーも2つある。

One of them is a corner balcony but more often than not in Tokyo for a bigger place, you're obviously going to be paying more or you also have the option to move outside of Tokyo.

そのひとつがコーナーバルコニーですが、東京で広い場所を探すとなると、当然高くなりますし、東京以外の場所に引っ越すという選択肢も出てくることが多いです。

But then if you're working in the city, then you've got to pay for the commute in and out every single day.

しかし、そうなると、都会で仕事をしている人は、毎日、通勤・通学にお金がかかるわけです。

And that adds up.

そして、それが積み重なっていく。

Especially if you're one of those people who's working multiple jobs and trying to get ahead in life or you're just living there temporarily.

特に、複数の仕事を掛け持ちして出世を目指す人や、一時的に住んでいるだけの人ならなおさらです。

Obviously I'm showing lots of tiny apartments.

もちろん、私は小さなアパートをたくさん紹介しています。

I can understand why people would think that all of the apartments are tiny.

どのマンションも小さいと思われるのも無理はない。

But they're they're not.

しかし、彼らは......そうではありません。

There are bigger places.

もっと大きな場所がある。

I just like the tiny places because they're really interesting and they give a bit of a different perspective.

ただ、小さな場所は本当に面白いし、ちょっと違った視点が得られるので好きです。

Anyway, this place here.

とにかく、ここの場所。

I just moved into this like two or three days ago.

2～3日前に引っ越してきたばかりなんです。

I think maybe next time maybe next time we should do a tour around this.

次回は多分、この辺りのツアーをやった方がいいんじゃないかと思います。

But it's still basically empty.

でも、基本的にはまだ空っぽなんです。

It's got nothing in it.

何も入っていないんです。

And that brings me to the obvious question of whether you think you would be able to live in one of those capsules, whether it be short term, long term, a week, a month.

そこで、短期、長期、1週間、1カ月など、カプセルの中で生活することができるかどうかという、当然の疑問が湧いてきます。

Do you think you could do it?

I'm still on the fence myself.

私自身、まだ迷っているところです。

If it was like when I first came to Japan and I owned nothing and the place was empty like this, I could probably pull it off for a short stay.

初めて日本に来た時みたいに、何も持っていなくて、こんな風に何もないところだったら、短期滞在でもやっていけるかもしれませんね。
