The world we live in is plagued with dangers:

And despite all the odds,

あらゆる困難をものともせず、

we still managed to graduate, so let's give us a big round of applause.

It was only three years ago that we came to the labyrinth known as Weber High.

たった3年前に初めて迷路であるウィーバー高校に来ました。

As young, timid sophomores we found ourselves lost in its halls

若く臆病な1年生の私達は、ホグワーツの動く階段のような

like they were the changing stair cases of Hogwarts.

廊下でどうしても迷っていてしまいました。

We danced to lyrics we did not understand in the song "Gangnam Style".

全く何も分からない「カンナムスタイル」の歌詞で踊りました。

We said "YOLO" and "cray-cray" as if

we were supposed to.

「YOLO」や「cray-cray」等の俗語を言いました。

Thank goodness we have "yeet" now.

今は「yeet」 が流行ってよかったね。

We anticipated our cataclysmic doom at the end of 2012.

2012年の終わりで、破壊的な滅亡を待ちました。

And back then, Weber High School had no windows.

そして当時、ウィーバー高校は窓がありませんでした。

Oh wait, it still doesn't.

待て、まだないんだな。

Ooh.

分かる分かる、やはりだじゃれですけど、絶対に必要でした。

I know, I know, it was a cliché joke but it was still necessary,

1年生として緊張していましたけれども、段々高校に慣れてきて、

Though nervous as sophomores, we started getting a hang of things,

そして2年に入ると経験ももたらされましたし、

and Junior year for many of us brought experience,

多くの生徒にとって第1期のSenioritis (3年生病)ももたらされました。

and for many more of us it meant Stage 1 Senioritis.

でも、今とうとうこの日が来ました！高校が終わりました！

And now, here we are: done with High School!

チャールズ・ディケンズが書かれたように、「それは最良の時代であり、最悪の時代であった」。

As Charles Dickens put it, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."

でも、もうAPやACTの試験が終わりました。

But now we are through with the stressful days of AP and ACT testing.

Quarters & Cansのチャリティーで何千ドルも募金出来ました。

We have raised tens of thousands of dollars for Quarters & Cans,

アメフト試合でベビーパウダーを何百ポンドも吸い込みました。

and inhaled hundreds of pounds of baby powder during football.

「WHS Screenshots」で生き残りました。

We have survived "WHS Screenshots".

最後に、私達が史上最も格好いいクラスであることが分かりました。

And last but not least, we have realized that we are the most attractive class ever.

私達の生徒会長、マイカ・マイヤーが言われたように、

As our Student Body President, Mikah Meyer, has observed, quote,

「豊かに年を取ってきたんだという。」

"One might say we've aged well."

さて今、私の優れたスピーチを聞いている3年生のとして、学校が終わりました、

And now as seniors listening to me deliver this brilliant graduation speech, we are through,

Senioritis (3年生病) で苦しんでいて圧倒されています。

afflicted and overwhelmed with Senioritis.

今、高校生の人生が終わる中でチャンスがあります。

Now at the end of our careers as students, we have an opportunity:

これからは、世界の無台で戦って、好きなことを見出しまた夢を叶えるチャンスです。

now is our time to take on the world, and to find and pursue our passions;

つまり、「レガシーを残す」チャンスです。

to quote unquote, "Leave a Legacy."

ウィリアム・シェイクスピア、またチャニング・タトゥム、が言いました。

William Shakespeare, and also Channing Tatum, once said,

「ある者は高貴に生まれ、ある者は高貴さを手に入れ、またある者は高貴へとのぼらされるのだ。」

"Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them."

人生では高貴に生まれ、または高貴へとのぼらされるという希望を当てにすることが出来ないのですが、

In life, we can't always count on being born great, or having greatness thrust upon us,

誰もが高貴さを手に入れることが出来ることを

but always, always remember that the opportunity to achieve greatness

絶対に忘れてはなりません。

is within our grasp.

私達が社会また政府の指導者、英雄とする人は

Keep in mind that many of our social and political leaders and heroes started their lives

普通の人間として人生を始めました。

as an average person;

普通の私達のような人間。

as just one of you and me.

失敗したり間違いを犯したりしても、また「普通」であっても、

Despite the failures and mistakes we will make, and although me may be "average",

また少数だけかもしくは数々の人に認められるとしても、

we find that the average can achieve greatness, whether recognized by the world

確かに普通の人間さえ偉大さを手に入れることが出来ます。

or just a few.

偉大さというのは手を差し伸べてくれる友人から生まれ、

Greatness comes from our friends reaching out to us,

わざわざ思いやりで助けてあげる人から生まれ、

those who go out of their way to be thoughtful;

縁の下の力持ちから生まれるのです。

今日ただ一つのことだけしか覚えないのなら、「レガシーを残す」また「偉大さを手に入れる」というのは

If there's anything you take from today, remember that to "leave a legacy" and to "achieve greatness"

お金とか高い評価を受けることなどではなく、

それは、あなたが出会う人に

it's to leave those with whom you cross paths

もう少し幸福と希望を残すことです。

with a little more happiness and hope.

クラスで一緒に過ごした時間は

Our time here together as a senior class will not be remembered by grades,

成績や、人気、いいね！の数でではなく、むしろ

popularity, likes, or favorites,

私達の人間関係で記念されるのです。

but by our relationships.

どんな人だったのかで。

The kind of person you were.

こういうのがレガシーです。

These are legacies,

私達が残すべきレガシーです。

the kind we must leave.

2015年度のクラス、この過ごせた３年は #splendid (素晴らしい) で、

Class of 2015, it's been a #splendid 3 years with you,
