that arose through, direct, by an evolutionary process,

it was created by the psyche

so the psyche could then use that as

a transcendant symbol.

...you can't tell the science guys that, though.

they work to create a theory of everything

but they have no idea what "everything"

really means.

They talk about the Big Bang theory

of how the universe began,

like a vase shattering

into a million tiny bits...

but that's wrong, too.

The way I see it,

it's more like the film

of their shattered vase

running backwards,

all the millions of tiny particles

and fragments following

incalcuably precise trajectories

back to wholeness...

fitting themselves together

with such miraculous and unerring accuracy

that by observing the perfection

of any part --

we know the perfection

of the whole.

I want to speak just

a few words about this

concept of enlightenment,

because, you know, this is a

big deal, isn't it?

And it's ironic how something

that is so precious

and so fulfilling

and so eternal

gets very subtly turned into some "thing"

some object of the mind

and in that the preciousness

is...

ruined.

Nothing has been said

that can touch it.

"God is in the rain."

You are no "thing" at all

Everything that appears

appears "in" you

because of the vastness

of the mystery

of you.

People are living the character

which they're playing in the movie

as if the only reality of them

is that character

and how that character behaves...

never realizing that they're also

the author of this entire thing

never being able to step back

from the created "I-dentity"

...lemme explain to you

the nature of the universe

Now Philip K. Dick is right about time,

but he's wrong that it's 50 AD

actually, there's only one instant...

and it's right now

and it's eternity...

and it's an instant in which

God is posing a question...

and that question is basically,

"Do you wanna, you know,

be one with eternity,

you wanna be in heaven?"

And we're all saying

"No, thank you...

not just yet..."

and so time

is actually just this

constant saying "no"

to God's invitation.

I mean, that's what time is.

says Jung, "There is nothing but

a living body

that is the fact...

and psyche is as much

a living body

as body is living psyche...

it is just the same.

you know, behind the phenomenal difference

there is but one story,

and that's the story of moving

from the "no" to the "yes,"

all of life is like,

"No thank you, no thank you, no thank you...

then ultimately it's

"Yes, I give in."

"Yes, I accept."

"Yes, I embrace."

I mean, that's the journey.

I mean, everyone gets to the "yes" in the end...

right?

Right.

Which piece of the vase

is less than another?

Everything fits.

Everything belongs.

None are lost.

All will arrive.

The One is the Source

of the Many...

returning is the motion of the Tao...

and the science guys

got it ass-backward.

The universe isn't flying apart...

it's flying together.

Well, like how did you, how did you

finally get out of the dream?

See, that's my problem, I'm like I'm

trapped...I keep, I keep

thinking that I'm waking up but I'm

still in a dream

it seems like it's going on forever...

I can't get out of it and I wanna wake up

for real.

How do you really wake up?

you just, just...
