So today I'm going to be talking about the best place to live in Japan throughout my years of living in Japan and study abroad and all that stuff.

そこで今日は、私の長年の日本での生活や留学などを通して、日本で一番住みやすい場所についてお話しします。

I lived to so many places.

たくさんの場所に住んでいました。

I just wanted to share my feelings and my opinions about them.

Maybe other people have different opinions, but this is just what I've experienced and what I feel would be the ideal place to live.

Everybody has different preferences and different needs and wants and things like that.

So I just wanted to share my thoughts and my experience.

So the first time I came to Japan I was high school students.

だから、初めて日本に来たときは高校生だった。

So I lived here for about four months, went to high school and excuse me, I have my tea here.

So I lived in shiga when I first came to Japan.

I was in high school.

I studied here for four months in high school before I graduated and I absolutely loved it.

It was the best thing ever.

So I feel like I have this particular attachment to the Shiga area.

This is a big rock.

Of course I Joho Second years, our first floor in 30 years and second floor.

The southern part of Japan is the most Japanese, it has the most history.

日本の南部は最も日本的であり、最も歴史があります。

It has the most, I don't know how to explain it.

An old feeling like a very historic feeling and I love that vibe.

I studied a lot of Japanese history and folklore and all that stuff.

So I really really loved the southern part of Japan just because it was the most Jap japan to me and maybe it was because I was a high school student there and it was my first time living in Japan and that's where I am naturally drawn to now.

If you are looking for a place that's a little more in aka is what we call it, a little more countryside, a little more historic, lots of shrines, temples, museums, things that you would not particularly see as much.

もっと田舎で、もっと歴史があって、神社やお寺、美術館など、普段あまり目にすることのないような場所を探している人にはぴったりの場所です。

If you lived in the north, I would go for somewhere in the south.

もしあなたが北に住んでいたら、私は南のどこかに行きます。

So places like Hiroshima or anywhere in shiga.

つまり、広島や滋賀のような場所です。

Honestly, Kyoto is more of a city vibe.

I think it's slowly transitioning into uh more of a Tokyo vibe to me but it's also very touristy.

So if you don't like to be in the tourist type area, I think Kyoto might not be the best, but Kyoto has a very historic vibe still and they're preserving a lot of things and I think that's really great about kyoto.

でも、京都には歴史的な雰囲気が残っていて、いろいろなものが保存されていて、それが京都の素晴らしいところだと思います。

I love seeing the shrines and the temples and the history but it is very touristy.

私は神社やお寺、歴史を見るのが好きですが、とても観光地化されています。

So it's not a place that I would want to live.

She goes a little bit more countryside which I like but it's also very convenient.

So when I lived in shiga I also lived in kona known for its mascot.

So that's something that I that I'm really attracted to.

So if we really really want to be in a place That's also convenient because he was not very far from Kyoto is only 20 minutes away from kiko.

So if you want to live more in the countryside, you want to be close to cities like kyoto or Osaka.

I prefer to live in the Chicago area.

It has so much and I would love to move back there, I would have no problem with it.

Yeah, so we're going to the temple right now and this is the biggest temple on this island, wow, you can smell the incense here too.

But there is a lack of opportunity.

So if you have a goal in mind and you want to get a job in a specific area like I.

I think it's a very great place to raise kids.

It's a great place if you don't have a lot of allergies.

I probably would not want to live there.

I don't think it's as convenient when it comes to like hospitals and english speaking doctors and things like that.

So let's recap a little bit.

If you want to live in the south in the Chicago area, kyoto area, Osaka area.

Um, it's the most convenient place to live.

You can access both the nature and the city life.

There's a lot of history involved, historic places to visit museums and things that you probably may have studied in japanese classes if you have taken them or history classes or whatever.

日本語の授業を受けたことがあれば、その授業や歴史の授業などで学んだことがあるかもしれませんが、歴史的な場所を訪れたり、博物館を訪れたりすることもあります。

I think it's a very educational place to live and you can experience a lot.

So I highly recommend if you prefer a place like that.

Another place that I lived when I came back to Japan was al Maury and that is in the north of Japan, the very, very tip of the Han XU region closer to Hokkaido, it's very, very cold up there.

私が日本に戻ってきたときに住んでいたもうひとつの場所はアル・モーリーで、そこは日本の北部、北海道に近い漢民族の地域の一番端っこで、とてもとても寒いところです。

Whereas the south is very warm if you like warm weather.

I forgot to mention if you like warm weather.

I would go for the south if you like cold weather and you like snowboarding and doing all sorts of snow sports and skiing and all that stuff.

寒いのが好きで、スノーボードやスキーなど様々なスノースポーツをするのが好きな人は、南の方に行くと思います。

I would go for the north of Japan and the north has a lot of histories as well.

私は日本の北に行きますが、北は歴史もたくさんあります。

Japan is full of history, full of things to see and do Omori.

日本には歴史があり、見所がたくさんあります。大森。

I lived in Hirosaki, Hirosaki is very gorgeous.

私は弘前に住んでいましたが、弘前はとても華やかです。

It has probably my favorite castle that I visited in Japan almost like I would call it, people in the jet program would call it a fake city because it was so tiny, like it was so small but it tried its best to act like a city.

日本で訪れたお城の中で一番好きなお城で、ジェットプログラムに参加していた人たちは「偽の都市」と呼んでいました。

It was very convenient but it's very isolating.

とても便利でしたが、とても孤立しています。

So at the time they didn't have a train going into Al Maury so I would have to take a plane if I wanted to go anywhere but now they do have a train which might be a little bit better but when I lived there was very isolating, there's a lot of older people, there's more, there's more nature but the summers are very short and the winters are very long so I didn't particularly enjoy it that much just because I'm from michigan and I am sick of the cold, I wanted to get away from that.

当時はアル・モーリーに行く電車がなかったので、どこかに行くには飛行機に乗らなければなりませんでしたが、今は電車があるので少しはマシかもしれませんが、私が住んでいた頃はとても孤立していました。年配の方が多く、自然も多いのですが、夏はとても短く、冬はとても長いので、あまり楽しめませんでした。

So it felt a lot like michigan to me but I want to say that Al Maury has the best festivals, the north has the best festivals in general, not just Al Maury, there's a lot of cool traditions that they do in the north and I think it's very ideal for types of people that love to just party in a traditional cultural japanese way.

アル・モーリーに限らず、北部には最高のお祭りがあります。北部にはクールな伝統行事がたくさんあり、日本の伝統的な文化でパーティーをするのが好きな人には最適だと思います。

So the other thing about Al Maury and the north of Japan that I love is the nature, oh my God the nature, it's probably the most beautiful in Japan, I would have to say if you wanted to live somewhere in the north of Japan and you love nature.

アル・モーリーと日本の北部について、私が好きなもうひとつのことは、自然です。何と言っても、自然は日本で最も美しいと思います。

If you love hiking, you love, like I said snow sports and things like that or sports in general, the north is the place for you again, there's not so much opportunity there.

So if you want to be a model, if you want to find some corporate job or position Al Maury or the north, I know I keep saying Al Maury but that's where I used to live is probably not for you, but I might have some clips from when I lived there.

I don't know, I remember I filmed a video about my apartment in Al Maury.

The rent is so cheap in the north, so cheap, like my apartment was 9000 yen a month and you can find bigger and more luxurious places for cheap in the north.

So if you want to find someplace cheap to live very much in nature and countryside, I would go for the north and you like sports and the cold.

That's the best place to live for people like you, I forgot to mention, the only place in Japan that has a difficult dialect to understand is Al Maury.

If you're studying japanese, Al Maury is not the best place to live and this is only an Al Maury, other places in the north speaking a dialect similar to other locations in Japan, although you'll find each part of Japan has a specific way of speaking, I haven't lived everywhere obviously, so I'm just stating opinions of where I've lived, but I've lived in the south in the north and now in the central part of the ponto, which is Tokyo, I, I want to say something about Tokyo.

Tokyo is very busy, it's very packed full of people, not the best for people with anxiety like me, so if you have anxiety, depression, stress, I highly discourage living in Tokyo.

I have gotten used to it and I still enjoy Tokyo because I feel like Tokyo has a lot to offer if you want to live here, if you want to level up in your job and your career, Tokyo is the place to be.

I, I think it's a great place for events and parties and meeting new people, There's a lot more foreigners here, it's a very touristy still, but I love meeting people from around the world, I have friends from Russia, have friends from England, I have friends from Australia, have friends from everywhere and I love that part of Tokyo, you'll never be bored, I feel like Tokyo, there's always something to do, there's always something going on, there's always stuff to see and do and I just, I never have gotten bored in Tokyo, but the rush of life and the madness of life here in Tokyo is draining my energies a lot and I just really need to kind of get away from that, so if you want to be a model, if you want to teach english, if you want to do anything here, I would highly recommend Tokyo if you like the city life, if you like going out all the time partying, whatever, like there's always something to do if you're a very social person, if you don't mind the crowds and the pack trains and things are generally far away, so it takes me about 40 minutes to get to work each day, so if you don't mind long commutes and high rents then I would recommend Tokyo, it's very expensive to live here, it's not the most ideal, but there are places like Yokohama and Chiba, which is actually where we live is in chiba.

So we live on the outside of Tokyo, but it's easy to get into Tokyo.

So people, when they say, where do you live, like we usually say Tokyo because technically we live in Tokyo, technically we're close to Tokyo, that's like the closest city that people recognize, but there are places on the outside of Tokyo that are cheaper, so and more quiet, so there are places that you can live their quiet and cheap and not so far away from the city, but Tokyo, I've lived here for five years, I can't believe I've lived here for five years, this is insane because I lived in Nagoya for three, which makes me live in Japan for almost like eight years, I think nine years, I think about nine years now um that I lived in Japan in total, Tokyo is very busy, crazy, lots of opportunity, very expensive, if you like that kind of thing, I recommend Tokyo, which leads me to the best place to live in Japan, this is like clearly like my, my opinion, I want to live in Nagoya again, I don't know why I'm singing this, but I miss Montoya so much, I moved here because a relationship, I don't regret it because I feel like Tokyo has pushed me in my career and my Youtube life and all that stuff, so I don't really regret moving here, I think it's great to experience other places, I love moving, I love experiencing new locations, so I was okay with it, but I found that quickly, Tokyo is not for me, I made a video about that, it'll be linked down below and I talked about why Tokyo is not for me and it still isn't.

So I want to move back to Nagoya and the reason why I want to move back to Nagoya, you know, some of you guys have seen an article called Nagoya is like the most boring city in Japan.

Um first of all, when you're traveling, I do not recommend going to Nagoya just because it's a very general laid back city, I think it's cool to see if you have the time, but if you have never been to Japan, I don't recommend traveling to Nagoya because why there's so many cool things like Kyoto and Tokyo and all that stuff that the touristy places that you should see if you are first coming to Japan but the article was written by someone that was most likely just traveling and board.

日本に来たことがない人には、名古屋への旅行はお勧めしません。なぜなら、京都や東京など、初めて日本に来た人が見るべき観光地がたくさんあるからです。

I don't know why there's claiming that this place is the most boring city in Japan because it really isn't boring.

日本で一番つまらない街だと言われているのは、本当につまらなくないからです。

There's so many cool events.

There's a lot of places to see and things to do on the outskirts of Nagoya To Gifu, Gifu is great for hiking.

Gifu is great to get close to nature give who has a lot of history.

There's also me, a prefecture which has a lot of history as well and islands and the sea and the mountains and it's beautiful.

Nagoya living in Nagoya's convenience because one, it has great doctors, if you have a lot of allergies, it's great to live, They even have an organic supermarket there, which I love.

It's in the middle of Tokyo, right in the middle of Tokyo.

It's so easy to go to Kyoto if I wanted to go to Kyoto, it's super close, it's like an hour to Osaka and maybe 2.5 hours to Tokyo but Nagoya is so convenient because you can go anywhere in Japan and it's not as far away.

So and I like to be more towards the south Nagoya is more towards itself and I love it.

I feel like the people in Nagoya are more relaxed, there's not, it's not as crowded, there's literally four train lines, there's still a lot of opportunity there for jobs.

名古屋の人々はもっとリラックスしていて、混雑もなく、電車は文字通り4路線あり、仕事のチャンスもまだたくさんあるように感じます。

I just feel like Nagoya was just the best time in my life.

ただ、名古屋は私の人生の中で最高の時間だったと感じています。

I feel like Nagoya was the best, most relaxing place to live for people that have anxiety or stress, it's not so overwhelming of a city and that's what I loved about it so much and I can speak so passionately about it because I lived there for two or three years and I just moved to Tokyo because of a relationship, I didn't move because oh I wanted to, I really want to experience Tokyo, I moved for a particular reason when I left to go, I feel like I left my heart and my soul behind because I loved it so so much.

不安やストレスを抱えている人にとって、名古屋は最高にリラックスできる場所だったと思います。そんなに圧倒されるような都市ではありませんし、そこが私の大好きなところで、2年も3年も住んでいたからこそ熱く語れるのです。私が東京に引っ越したのは、人間関係のためで、ああ東京を体験したいから引っ越したのではありません。

Do you guys hear that there's like a, there's always these weird announcements sometimes they announced like missing old people, it's kind of creepy.

皆さんは、いつも変な発表があるのを聞いていますか？時々、お年寄りが行方不明になったというような発表があって、それはちょっと不気味です。

Anyway, we're going to keep talking about Nagoya, I feel like I met more Japanese people when I lived there.

とにかく、名古屋の話を続けます。名古屋に住んでいた時の方が、より多くの日本人と出会ったような気がします。

I feel like I had more japanese friends in general, but when I moved to Tokyo, I lost like all my Japanese friends and things became more busy and you know, there's there's a lot more foreigners here.

一般的には日本人の友達が多かったように思いますが、東京に引っ越してからは日本人の友達がいなくなってしまいましたし、忙しくなって外国人が多くなってしまいました。

I feel like I'm not really in Japan when I'm living in Tokyo.

東京に住んでいると、日本にいるとは言えないような気がします。

So Nagoya was like the best place for me to live and I just like talking about this, I get so sad because I just, I miss it so much.

名古屋は私が住むのに最適な場所でした。この話をすると、とても悲しくなります。

When I lived in Nagoya, I started my Youtube career, so it was like a big part of my life, starting all of this, I met Regan, I met victor, give me a break man, give me a flake man, they're Youtubers Regan now lives in Australia, cause lives in Canada.

名古屋に住んでいた頃、私はYoutubeを始めました。私の人生の大きな部分を占めていて、このすべてを始めました。

Now Crystal is in Nagoya which is awesome.

今、クリスタルは名古屋にありますが、これは素晴らしいことです。

His kids are growing up so well and they're so cute and I miss them.

So I'd love to go back and visit them again.

The rent was cheaper, everything was cheaper.

I felt like I was saving so much money when I was living in Nagoya, also Rachel in june, I met Rachel, they were the first Youtubers victor and Rachel and june were the first Youtubers that I met, so it's just that there's a lot of memories and things like that and uh I just think it's such a beautiful place.

名古屋に住んでいたときは、お金がすごく貯まったような気がしたし、juneのRachelと出会ったのも、彼らが最初のYoutuberのVictorであり、Rachelとjuneが最初に出会ったYoutuberだったので、思い出がたくさんあって、とても美しいところだと思います。
