Our question today is how do I pronounce the word: On—which is in contact with a surface or part of a topic, own—belonging to a person, and only—meaning solely or exclusively or no longer than like only a year.

今日の問題は、この単語の発音の仕方です。表面やトピックの一部と接触していることを表す on、誰かに属していることを表す own 、単独で、独占的に、または1年だけ（only a year）のようにこれ以上ないということを表す only です。

So, let's take a look at our words.

では、私たちの言葉について考えてみましょう。

We have on, own and only.

on own only があります。

So let's start with the 'n' sound /n/.

では、まず「n」の音/n/から見ていきましょう。

Let's get that out of the way.

その辺を整理してみましょう。

To say this sound, you're going to touch the tip of your tongue to the back of your top front teeth, and air moves out of your nose.

この音を出すには、舌先を上の前歯の裏側につけて、鼻から空気を出します。

The 'l' sound is made in the same spot, this /l/, but the air moves out of your mouth.

「l」の音は、この「/l/」という同じ場所で出ますが、空気は口の外に出ていきます。

So, /n, /l/, /n/, /l/.

つまり、/n, /l/, /n/, /l/です。

Let's also talk about the "y". "Y" is  that nice high flat tongue, vowel is long, and you are smiling.

また、"y "の話もしましょう。"Y "はその素敵な高い平たい舌、母音は長く、そして微笑んで発音します。

So we're gonna end this word with /ly/.

では、この単語の最後を/ly/で終わらせてみましょう。

Now let's talk about these vowels.

では、これらの母音について説明します。

O in english is very confusing for a lot of my students.  

英語のOというのは、多くの生徒にとって非常にわかりにくいものです。

It can be pronounced many different ways.

いろいろな発音が可能です。

We have two options here for the letter o and how we pronounce it.

ここで、oという文字とその発音の仕方について、2つの選択肢があります。

For "on", we are going to pronounce it with an open,  short /o/ sound.

on の場合、口を開いて、短い/o/の音で発音しましょう。

You can see my mouth is in an oval, it's very open, my lips are not puckered.

口が楕円形になっているのがわかると思いますが、とても開いていて、唇はこわばっていません。

My tongue is going to be low in the front and pulled up and high in the back. 

舌は前が低く、後ろは引き上げて高くします。

You're gonna see I have to close my mouth.

口を閉じなければならないのがわかりますね。

Now for "own", I'm going to start with that open mouth again, my tongue is going to be low, the back is going to be pulled up, but then I'm going to move to a pucker.

今度は "own "ですが、また口を開けて、舌を低くして、背中を引き上げて、それからパッカーに移行していきます。

As I close my mouth and move to that pucker, my tongue is going to just come along for the ride.

口を閉じて、そのパッカーに移動すると、舌がそのまま乗ってきます。

It's going to start here and it's going to move up as I close my mouth.

ここから始まって、口を閉じるにつれて上に上がっていきます。

And then at the end /oʊn/.

そして、最後に /oʊn/ です。

So we have "on". 

だから "on "があります。

"Own".

"Own".

"Only".

"Only".

So, yes. We're gonna use that long /o/ here.

そう、そうなんです。ここではその長い/o/を使います。

So let's try those again.

And now for a sentence: She only wants to be on her own when she is studying.
