Today, we are going to do a lesson on important interview tips to help you conquer a job interview.

We will divide this lesson into five parts.

5つのパートに分けてご紹介します。

One: Tell me about yourself. 

その一：自己紹介してください。

Two: Why should we hire you?

その二：あなたを雇う必要がある理由が何ですか？

Three:  What are your strengths?

その三：長所が何ですか？

Four: Why are you looking for a job change?  

その四：転職をしたい理由が何ですか？

And finally, why do you want to work with our company?

そしてその五：うちの会社で働きたい理由が何ですか？

Let's get started.

始めましょう！

In the first part of this lesson, we are going to focus on the very common question: Tell me about yourself.

まず、１つ目、非常によくある質問に焦点を当てていきます。「あなたのことを教えてください」

Now, there are five things you should focus on when speaking to someone about yourself. 

さて、誰かに自分のことを紹介ときに重視すべきことが5つあります。

First, start with your name.

まずは自分の名前です。

Example: "My name is Ashley and thank you for seeing me today," or "My name is Ashley, nice to meet you. " 

例えば、「アシュリーです、面接の機会をくれてありがとうございます。」あるいは「アシュリーです、どうぞよろしくお願いします。」

Two: Provide information about your place or about where you are from.

２つ目：自分の出身地などについての情報を提供することです。

Example: "I am from South Africa, and I live in Johannesburg." 

例えば、「南アフリカ出身で、ヨハネスブルグに住んでいます。」

Three: Give a short background on your education.  

３つ目：学歴について簡単に説明してください。

Example: "I recently graduated from university, and I have a degree in____" - Here, you would mention the name of your degree.

例えば、「最近大学を卒業しましたが、____の学位を持っています。」____のところは自分の学位を言うでしょう。

Four: Speak about your job experiences.

４つ目：自分の仕事の経験を話すことです。

Example: "I have five years of experience in teaching English, and prior to that, I worked as an engineer at ABC company." 

例えば、「5年間の英語教育の経験があり、それ以前はABC社でエンジニアとして働いていました。」

And finally, for the final part of this question, speak briefly about your family.

最後に、この質問の最後の部分ですが、ご家族について簡単に話してください。

Example: "I live with my family in South Africa. I have a husband and a son," or "I have a husband and a daughter." 

例えば、「家族と一緒に南アフリカに住んでいます。夫と息子がいます。」あるいは「夫と娘がいます。」

Next, we will focus on how to answer the question: Why should we hire you?

次は、この質問にどう答えるかに見てみましょう。「あなたを雇う必要がある理由が何ですか？」

For this part, make sure you explain why they should choose to hire you over someone else.

この部分では、他の人ではなくあなたこそ雇うべき理由を説明するようにしてください。

You can do this by sharing your knowledge.

そのためには、自分の知識を相手に伝えることが大切でしょう。

Example: "Since I have just left university, I have a lot of theoretical knowledge in my field. I am ambitious and I will endeavor to do my best for your organization."  

例えば、「大学を卒業したばかりなので、自分の専門分野について多くの理論的知識を持っています。向上心があるので、御社のためにベストを尽くすつもりです。」

Speak about your work experiences.

自分の仕事の経験について話しましょう。

Tap into any past work experiences you may have and how you added value to the organization you previously worked for.  

過去の仕事の経験と、あなたが以前働いていた組織にどのような付加価値を与えたかを話してください。

Talk about the skills related to the job.

仕事に関連するスキルについて話すことです。

Example: "I am punctual and sincere, and I work hard to complete work on time, even if it means that I need to work after hours, I will also endeavor to fulfill all the needs of the company required from me."

例えば、「時間をしっかり守人で、誠実です。たとえ時間外に仕事をしなければならないとしても、時間通りに仕事を終えるように努力します。また、会社が私に要求するすべてのニーズを満たすように頑張ってきます。」

Talk about your career goals.

自分のキャリアゴールについて話しましょう。

Example: "I am hardworking and ambitious and will always work hard to move from strength to strength within your organization." 

例えば、「勤勉で野心的なので、貴社の組織の中で強みから強みへと移行するために常に努力します。」

Next, we will focus on the question: What are your strengths?

次のポイント、「あなたの長所が何ですか？」

The strengths that you should mention as you complete your interview are as follows.

面接を終える際に言及しておきたい長所は以下のようです。

"I am great at adapting to different work environments and team exercises that may be presented."

「私は、異なる職場環境やチームワークに適応することが得意です。」

"I am very hard working. I am honest and optimistic, which goes far in promoting a positive work environment."

「とても働き者です。それに正直で楽観的なので、ポジティブな職場環境を促進することができると思っています。」

"I am self-motivated and goal driven."

「自発的に目標を持って行動するタイプです。」

Next, let's focus on the question: Why are you looking for a job change?

次のポイントは、「転職活動をしている理由が何ですか？」

For this part of the interview, you should explain what you have learned from your past jobs.

この部分では、過去の仕事から学んだことを説明する必要があります。

Share exactly why you would like to change jobs.

転職をしたい理由を具体的に伝えてください。

But, be careful not to speak badly about your previous company or your previous companies.  

ただし、前職の会社や前々職の会社の悪口を言わないように注意しましょう。

Also, be sure to mention how the job you are applying for lines up with your career goals.  

また、応募する仕事が自分のキャリアゴールとどのように合致しているかを述べるようにしましょう。

And finally, let's look at one of the most popular questions that is bound to pop up at some time, and that is: Why do you want to work for our company?

最後に、いつかは必ず出てくる、最もポピュラーな質問の一つを見てみましょう。「うちの会社で働きたい理由が何ですか？」

And here I have just two tips for you.  

ここで2つだけポイントをお伝えします。

First, explain to them what you like most about their company.

まず、自分がその会社の一番好きなところを説明します。

Speak about the company environment and their mission statement.

会社の環境やミッションステートメントについて話しましょう。

This way, the interviewer will also know that you took the time to research the company and prepare for the interview.

そうすれば、あなたが時間をかけて会社を調べ、面接の準備をしたことが面接官にも伝わるでしょう。

Second, relate the job position to your long-term career goals.

次、その職種を自分の長期的なキャリアゴールと関連付けることです。

Example: "When I researched your company, I was thrilled to see that my skills match the requirements of your company and will allow me to successfully contribute to the future of the company."

例えば、「御社について調べたところ、私のスキルが御社の要求にマッチしていて、会社の将来にうまく貢献できると思い、感激しました。」

And that's it, guys. These are the tips to help you to conquer your job interview.
