The first is the true use of 'date', which means a romantic meeting.

最初は「デート」の本当の意味、つまりロマンチックに会うことですね。

They both like each other.

お互いに好意を持っています。

Well, I'm not sure about her, but, they both like each other, they go out somewhere.

彼女については分かりませんが、お互いのことを好きで、どこかに出かけます。

That's called a 'date'.

それが'date'ですね。

The next kind of meeting you wouldn't call a 'date'.

次の会い方は、'date'とは言いません。

You wouldn't 'date' your dentist.

歯医者と「デート」はしませんね。

Maybe some people would, I don't know.

する人もいるかもしれませんが…分かりません。

But in this case, when you meet your dentist, that's not called a 'date'.

でもこの場合、歯医者に会う時には、'date'とは言いません。

That's called 'an appointment'.

'an appointment'（予約）です。

A Lawyer, doctor, psychologist...

弁護士、医者、心理学者…

People who provide a service to you.

サービスを提供する人たちです。

Third kind is this one.

3つ目は、こちら。

Again, this one, we wouldn't call it a 'date'.

これも、'date'とは言いません。

It's for business, so we'd call it a 'meeting'.

ビジネス向けのものなので、'meeting'（会議）と言います。

All of them you use the verb 'have'.

全て、動詞は'have'を使います。

But what about if you just meet a friend?

でも、ただ友達に会う時は？

There's no romance.

恋じゃないですよね。

There's no dentistry, and there's no business being discussed

歯医者でもないし、ビジネスを話し合うのでもありません。

What then?

じゃあ何と言う？

How can you say: 'I'm meeting a friend?'

「友達と会う」はどのように言うのでしょうか？

It's exactly that.

そのとおりです。

If it's romantic, you 'have a date'.

ロマンチックなら、'have a date'（デートをする）

If it's for a service, like a doctor, lawyer, dentist, you 'have an appointment'.

医者、弁護士、歯医者などのサービスを受けるためなら、'have an appointment'（予約がある）

If it's for business, you 'have a meeting'.

ビジネスなら、'have a meeting'（会議をする）

If you're seeing friends, 'you're seeing your friend'.

友達に会うなら、'seeing your friend'（友達に会う）

Or 'you're 'meeting your friend' - Both are okay.

もしくは、'meeting your friend'も使えます。両方良いです。
