Here are three ways to give compliments in American English.

これが、アメリカ英語の 3 つの褒め方。

One way is, "nice" plus a noun.

1 つ目は、 [ nice ＋ 名詞 ]「いい～だね！」

"Nice" hat!

"Nice" hat (=素敵な帽子) ！

"Nice" laptop!

いい(=nice) ノートパソコンだね !

Another way is, "I really like" plus an item.

別の言い方だと、 [ I really like ＋ アイテム ] 「～すごくいいね！」

"I really like" that photograph!

その写真すごくいいね (= I really like ～)！

"I really like" your shoes!

その靴すごくいいね (= I really like ～) ！

We can also say, "What a great" plus a noun.

こんな言い方もできます。[ What a great ＋ 名詞！]「なんてすごい～だ！」

"What a great" essay!

なんてすばらしいエッセイなの！(=What a great ～! )

"What a great" bike!

なんていい自転車だ！(=What a great ～ !)
