We're here at Fushimi Inari Shrine.

伏見稲荷神社に来ました。

I've never been here before,

ここに来たのは初めてです。

I don't know how I've managed to live in Japan

どうやって日本で生活してきたのかわからない

for 11 years and not visit here, but I'm super excited,

11年間、ここを訪れることはありませんでしたが、私は超興奮しています。

because this place looks really beautiful.

ここは本当に綺麗に見えるから

It's probably the top spot to visit in Kyoto,

京都の観光スポットの中ではトップレベルでしょう。

it's gonna be a long hike, apparently it's a couple of hours

長いハイキングになりそうだが、どうやら2、3時間らしい。

to get up to the top of the shrine,

Fushimi Inari Shrine's at the base

of the 233 meter tall Inari Mountain.

You can hike up Inari Mountain

through thousands of vermillion Torii Gates

数千の朱色の鳥居をくぐって

to explore the smaller shrines, located on the mountain.

The trip usually takes around two hours,

so make sure you wear some good hiking shoes.

Inari is the Japanese God

お稲荷さんは日本の神様

of rice and general prosperity.

Inari is a popular deity, with over one third

being dedicated to worshiping Inari.

The entrance to an Inari shrine is usually marked

Today's probably the hottest day of the year so far,

今日は今までで一番暑い日かもしれません。

but it's really shaded and nice in here.

が、ここは本当に陰影があっていい感じです。

We're at the summit.

山頂に到着しました。

After a two-hour long hike,

2時間のロングハイキングを終えて

we made it to the top of the mountain

山頂まで辿り着いた

and guess what we discovered?

何を発見したと思う？

Yep, that's right, more shrines,

そうだ、神社が増えたんだ。

just when you thought you'd seen them all, there are more,

全部見たと思ったら、もっとあった。

but it's kind of neat how each one is a little different.

でも、一人一人が少しずつ違っていて、なんだかすっきりしています。

You can find different fox statues,

いろいろなキツネ像を見つけることができます。

some of them are dressed up in cute little bibs or hats,

中には、かわいいビブスや帽子をかぶっておめかししている子もいます。

it's really fun to explore the place.

探索するのは本当に楽しいです。

We decided to climb during the daytime,

日中に登ることにしました。

however, it is open 24 hours a day,

ただし、24時間営業です。

so if you're up for something different,

何か違うことをしたいなら

maybe give it a try at night.

夜に試してみるといいかもしれません。

- We're making our way back down now,

that was quite the hike, but it was mostly in the shade,

On your way down,

You can actually purchase one of these yourself,

実際に自分で購入することができます。

and they're a lot cheaper than I expected them to be.

と思っていたら、思っていたよりもずっと安くなっていました。

Found a mysterious frog shrine.
