Your mother is more of a green light. Your dad is more. I don't want to say whether it was yellow. Whatever. He was very cautious. He was methodically like to playing like to make sure you were prepared. When you think when you think about your younger time in life in the younger age, would you describe yourself more of your mom's child on your dad's child? More moms? It was all green lights. It was It was like life was one big shoeless summer. Um, you know, it was It was go all the time. No introspection, don't Even we weren't even allowed to watch TV or take time to read a book. It was just Go, go, go, go, go! Um, and so we learned a lot of resilience in that my mom gave us all that resilience. You get up, you dust yourself off. You carry on. What I learned later on, I guess around 18 years old is that if you get up and dust yourself off every single time without looking at why you fell down. You become a repeat offender. Okay, so sometimes we got to get up and go. Hang on. I'm not before I dust myself and move on, which is what my mom always taught us. I gotta stop. Look back at that damn pothole. I keep stepping in on. Wonder why I keep stepping in the damn thing. So next time I come around the bend, I could not get or jump over, which is the form of creating a yellow light for yourself. Have a little introspection to look back. So that happened to me. I got a little more introspective when I got about 18. 19, probably that year in Australia that I spent the exchange student gave me that with the Dooley's with the Dooley's that you'll have to read the book to know what I'm talking about. But it was the Dooley's. I remember that. I remember that. I remember a whole bunch of people laughing at you later on because they knew what they were like, but they didn't tell you about it. But we'll get into all of that. It's must as must read everybody and you gotta go get the book. You gotta go get the book. Green lights. I want to transition to the world of sports in this regard. Matthew, when you look at today's sports landscape and we have this discussion about things that are inspiring the green lights that exists in all of our lives but yellow and red lights as well as you look at today's sports world, what do you believe? It provokes or evokes toe folks out here in the world today when you look at the sports world as it is presently constructed? Well, look, sports is a great lesson for all of us and how to get along. I mean, you know, I don't you gotta You gotta certain understood rules to the game before two teams to individuals meet you come to the tundra, whatever that is. The court, the course, the field, the pool, whatever it is, you got it. You have an understanding of the rules. Now you get out there and you battle it out. You have resistance. You have You have grand plans of what will be nothing but a green light. You run into resistance. The opposition is trying to stop you from getting what you're doing. You fight like hell. It's bloody. It's a battle. It's a rodeo. You're trying to get your eight seconds on the bull at the end of the game after you just actually hated each other on the field. You come together, you shake a hand and you on. So it's actually a great example of healthy tribalism. Yeah, you have tribes. You have percent of the stadium on one side, 5% on the other. But you come together, you battle over game and after you go damn good game. I'm get you next time and you come back for another battle. That's something that that we, the whole people can learn that we need to learn. We could learn from sports. I've learned a lot of my job from preparation, uh, from in sports just to my own job of acting. Um, you can't just hop. I'm an expert because I say I am in today's society tries to tell some of us we can just do that. Well, I'm an expert. If I say yeah, try that behind the three point line or try to try to stop it up there and say so. I said. I could make it. No, no, no. It takes a lot of work in preparation. You see great people, great athletes that the work they're bought off to get it. But I think it's a great lesson that people can look at again about how, ah, healthy tribalism, where people can actually come together. You battle it out on the day that you come together and you shake a hand at the end of the night, you say, See you tomorrow. Let me go directly to your alma mater, the University of Texas. They got a new football coach, Steve Sarkeesian. Last time we show him the last time we saw him, he was the offensive coordinator for Nick Saban's Alabama Crimson Tide, averaging over 47 points per game. How do you feel about him as your new coach? The stage University of Texas is like no other, Um, so in that way, because it's like no other. You actually are an underdog at UT now who can shine on that stage? Um, I want him to bring. He's got an underdog mentality. He's got his own retribution story. He's got his own redemption story. Well, let's parley and parcel that into are becoming, um of who who are football program is right now. We want we want bad acts with character. Um, let's see. I've yet to meet him. I'm gonna give him a call, actually, here, maybe this afternoon to catch up with him because I want right about some things. But you got You know, you get handed the keys thio to the Ferrari University of Texas. So when you you know, you gotta remember that when you were driving to get to this position, you were grinding. You were breaking late turns don't start breaking early. Now let's get it on. Let's roll. Before I let you get on out of here, let me transition basketball from football. Shaka Smart, Texas 11 and two, ranked fourth in the nation. How are you feeling about that? Last? I mean, we see a lot of footage of you standing on the sidelines with team telling them to get up, push each other chance for each other. We see that now they ranked fourth in the nation. How you feeling about the right now? Right about that, you know? And you know, Shaka is more than more than a great coach. He's a He's a great man. And he's, you know, it looks like Now start to see the outcome of some of this culture that he's been teaching these young men about how you play on the court and off the court in life. Um, you know, I Seymour Seymour dog in the team. I love to see that, uh, Seymour dog and shock on the sidelines. So growing his hair back Uh huh. Oh, they're looking good, and they're young, but yet they still have. They still have senior leadership. Uh, they're looking good on the court, man. They had They had a tough loss against, checked the other day, came back and took took care of Kansas State. After that, um, we got a tough conference, but we I like the way we look.
