I am actually a professional body painter.

How did you get into that?

I went to school for theater and I took a stage makeup course, and it kind of dived me into, I guess, the art of makeup itself.

Shortly after college, I decided that I wanted to dive in more, and I got a job at a professional theater as a hair makeup person, and I started learning prosthetics.

大学を卒業して間もなく、もっと飛び込みたいと思い、プロの劇場でヘアメイクの仕事に就き、義肢装具を習い始めました。

I started in my free time when I wasn't working at the theater to teach myself how to pretty much body paint past the face and the neck.

劇場で仕事をしていない暇な時間に、顔や首を越えたボディペイントのかなりの方法を独学で教えてもらうために始めました。

And then I started to experiment on other people, and I've been doing it now for about seven years.

そして、他の人の実験をするようになって、今では7年くらい前からやっています。

It was monarch butterflies because monarch butterflies are my absolute favorite butterfly.
