And today in this video, I will be talking about my study abroad experience in Ecuador.

そして今日はこの動画で、私がエクアドルに留学した時の話をします。

Ecuador is in South America, and lots of people forget about it because it's right in the corner there by Colombia and Brazil and Venezuela.

エクアドルは南米にありますが、コロンビアやブラジル、ベネズエラの角にあるので、多くの人がそれを忘れています。

So but it's there, and it's a wonderful place to go.

だから、しかし、そこには素晴らしい場所があります。

I studied Spanish there and also had a great time experiencing the Spanish culture.

現地でスペイン語を勉強し、スペイン文化にも触れ、とても楽しい時間を過ごしました。

Um, my favorite thing about Ecuador was probably my host family.

えーと、エクアドルで一番好きだったのは、たぶんホストファミリーだったと思います。

It was a big family, and they're all warm and welcoming.

大家族で、みんな温かく迎えてくれました。

And the family structure was similar to Korean families and that they're all very close.

家族構成も韓国の家庭と似ていて、みんな仲が良いと

And maybe the sons and daughters will live with their parents until they get married and they don't move away very often.

そして多分、息子や娘は結婚するまでは親と一緒に住んでいて、あまり引っ越すことはないのではないでしょうか。

They all stay together, Um, usually in the same neighborhood, actually.

みんな一緒に住んでいるんです、えーと、大抵は同じ近所に住んでいます、実際に。

So that was a wonderful part of, um, my Ecuador adventure.

だから、それは私のエクアドルの冒険の素晴らしい部分だった、ええと、私のエクアドルの冒険。

But also I love the food.

でも、食べ物も大好きです。

The food was so good, I would wake up in the morning and there would be a big bowl of granola and yogurt and tons of fresh fruit and vegetables.

朝起きたらグラノーラとヨーグルトの大盛りと新鮮な果物や野菜が大量に入っていて、とても美味しかったです。

And I had all the energy I needed for the day and then I would go about my day and come back for lunch.

そして、一日に必要なエネルギーを全て手に入れて、一日を過ごして、お昼に戻ってくるのでした。

And lunch was actually a really big experience, Um, in Ecuador for me because we had a special time called a siesta.

昼食は本当に大きな経験でした。エクアドルではシエスタと呼ばれる特別な時間があったからです。

And during the siesta, everyone would come home, aunt, have a huge lunch and maybe take a nap.

そしてシエスタの間は、みんな家に帰ってきて、おばさん、大きなお弁当を食べて、たぶんお昼寝をしていました。

And then everyone need either go back to work or they would go back to school and dinner.

そうすると、みんな仕事に戻るか、学校に戻って夕飯を食べるか、どちらかにしないといけない。

It was actually a very small event in comparison toe lunch, and it was usually just bread or coffee.

実際にはつま先立ちランチに比べれば、とても小さなイベントで、普段はパンかコーヒーだけだったのですが、今回のイベントでは、そのようなことはありませんでした。

So the food was great.

ということで、料理は最高でした。

Siesta nap in the middle of the day.

昼間のシエスタ昼寝。

Who doesn't like naps in the middle of the day?

昼寝が嫌いな人っているのかな？

Uh, the other great thing about Ecuador, um, was the vacation spot.

エクアドルのもう一つのいいところはバケーションスポットですね

So Koreans have Jeju Island and Ecuadorians have, uh the Galapagos Islands and the Galapagos Islands are beautiful and tropical, and they're especially known for their exotic animals, like flamingos and beautiful birds.

だから韓国人は済州島を持っていて、エクアドル人はガラパゴス諸島を持っていて、ガラパゴス諸島は美しくて熱帯の島で、特にフラミンゴや美しい鳥などのエキゾチックな動物がいることで知られています。

Um, so they had beautiful beaches and turtle turtle the size of a small car.

えーと、だから、綺麗なビーチがあって、小型車くらいの大きさの亀がいたんですね。

They were so big.

とても大きかったです。

So I was lucky enough to be able to experience Ecuador and go to the Galapagos Islands and have a wonderful host family.

なので、エクアドルを体験してガラパゴス諸島に行くことができ、素晴らしいホストファミリーにも恵まれました。

So that was my trip to Ecuador.
