Going thio, the local grocery store called the commissary.

ゴーイング・ティオ、地元の八百屋さんはコミッセリーと呼んでいました。

Uh, you have to have a military ID in order.

So it's just like a normal American grocery store.

But it is such a nice thing to see if this is, like, such a luxurious day.

Okay, so we're in the food court at the Yokota Air Force Base, and I just bought my first Philly steak Philly cheese steak and you got to talk about?

Yeah, I got a Chiluba.

Nice, but yeah, there's so much stuff here that you can't get outside of the base.

You can't get anywhere else in Japan.

日本ではどこにも行けない。

American size, American size, right?

アメリカンサイズ、アメリカンサイズですね。

This is a regular.

I get a regular and this is a lodge.

Things like this.

This is definitely a lodge in Japanese standards.

これは間違いなく日本基準の宿です。

So, yeah, things are a lot bigger.

So everyone here is in American dollars.

ここにいる人はみんなアメリカドルなんですね。

But here way were able to pay in yen as well, which is really convenient.

しかし、ここでは日本円での支払いも可能だったので、とても便利でした。

Not a bad deal.

Okay, so we just finished getting some groceries, and now we're actually at the high school that's on base.

食料品の調達が終わって 基地の高校に着いたわ

There's a high school middle school and then there's two elementary schools.

高校の中学があって、あとは小学校が2つ。

It's crazy.

狂っている。

It's like an American high school that was playing American football.

アメリカンフットボールをやっていたアメリカの高校のようです。

E can't believe it, but yeah, there's so many facilities here.

Eは信じられないけど、ええ、こんなにたくさんの施設があるんですね。

There's schools and police in a fire station and ah, hospital.

消防署に学校と警察があって、あー、病院だ。

Yeah, it's like its own little world.

ああ、それは自分の小さな世界のようなものだ。

Well, the school system is still based on American time, so they still have their summers in June and July, and then their school starts August all the way through May.

まあ、学校のシステムはまだアメリカの時間を基準にしているので、6月と7月に夏があって、8月からずっと5月まで学校があるんですけどね。

Just American school.

ただのアメリカンスクール。

Yeah, it's an American school in Japan, but only for military families.

ああ、日本ではアメリカの学校だけど、軍人家庭だけの学校だよ。

Okay, so now we are at the Faces movie theater.

さて、今は「顔」の映画館にいます。

That's crazy, that there's bowling movie here to schools.

ここの学校にボーリングの動画があるなんて異常だな。

Also, the times here are the same as American times.

また、ここの時代はアメリカの時代と同じです。

So usually in Japan, when a movie is released, it's released way later than it is when it's released in America.

だから日本では映画が公開されると、アメリカで公開されるよりもずっと後に公開されるのが普通なんです。

But here you get to see movies early.

でも、ここでは早めに映画を見ることができます。

How often do you come here say, maybe like once every two months?

ここに来る頻度は？２ヶ月に１回とか？

Yeah, I'm not a big movie person, but e really like that.

映画はあまり好きじゃないんだけど、これは本当に好きなんだ。

They have it here because as soon as a movie comes out, it'll either take like a week to get here on D.

映画が公開されるとすぐにDで1週間くらいかかるか、ここに来るまでに1週間くらいかかるかのどちらかだから、ここにあるんだそうです。

Sometimes on special occasions, there will be, like early release, just for military families.

特別な日には、軍人の家族のためだけに、早期リリースのようなものがあるでしょう。

So it's really cool.
