それを調べるべく、 東京を飛び出し河口湖へ向かいます。

To find out

電車かバスで2時間ほどの 富士山のふもとに位置します。

We left tokyo and headed to KAWAGUCHI-KO.

東京を離れて地方へと向かう電車は 実にリラックスできます

It's located a couple of hours away by train or bus

どんどん大きくなってくる富士山に興奮します

and its right at the base of Mount FUJI

富士山は何度見てもウキウキします

Getting out of TOKYO and riding to the countryside is really relaxing

あともう一息です

As[Mt.]FUJI-SAN gets bigger and bigger

So does the excitement

空気は新鮮で、車のクラクションや工事の音は 2時間前の東京に置き去りにしてきました

No matter how many times I see Mount [Mt.]FUJI I get excited

代わりに鳥の声や水上のボート、 そして木々を抜ける風があります。

We're allmost there

ここには見事な桜が咲いています。

KAWAGUCHI-KO

この白い桜が山と湖の間に映える 素晴らしいコントラストになっています。

The air is fresh and the sounds of honking cars and construction

富士山をバックにした桜の景色

are a couple of hours away in Tokyo

日本を象徴する二つの組み合わせは 本当に特別なものです

and the wind through the trees

The [Tree]SAKURA here are magnificent

山の天気は特にそうなのですが、 早春の空気は冷たくて、晴れることが多いのです

The white blossoms are striking contrast to the mountains and lake

both the icons of Japan and putting them together is truly something special

Mount FUJI is usually covered in clouds

その冬はまだそこにある

Japan is an island and the weather can change rapidly

春は新たな可能性の季節です

especially at elevations but in the early spring

電車に乗って、また別の山へと向かいます

the air is cool enough to keep the skies clear

今回は関西の奈良へ

There's a path around the lake and this trip is all SAKURA

目的地の吉野山へは、 京都や大阪からローカル線に乗るといいでしょう

It's relaxing here and even on the weekends it's easy to enjoy both the view

日本で一番古いケーブルカーです。

and the surrounding nature

Looking at [Mt.]FUJI-SAN covered in snow I'm reminded of the winter that ended down here

With many sacred shrines and temples

and over 30,000 SAKURA trees

give off many different colors of blossoms and leaves

As the season comes to an end, wind blows the blossoms off the branches

and leave sprout the root

The [Tree]SAKURA in [Mt.]YOSHINO-YAMA were planted in four groves

along the mountainside

Each blooming later in the season

as you get to higher elevations

The top is a perfect place for HANAMI party

picnicking under the cherry blossoms

Kami sembon, the upper 1000 trees

Is a beautiful spectacle to see

It's a patch of springtime colors and a highlight of the area
