Only a 30 minute train ride from central Tokyo.

都心から電車でわずか30分。

Even though it's close to Japan City that never sleeps, you'll feel like you've traveled pretty far with the traditional temples and shrines to the old souvenir shops.

眠らない日本市に近いにもかかわらず、昔ながらの寺社仏閣から昔ながらのお土産屋さんまであり、かなり遠くまで旅した気分になれます。

College Way harnesses the charm of places like Kyoto, full of history and exciting information from the past looks chaotic.

カレッジウェイは、京都のように歴史と刺激的な情報が詰まった場所の魅力を生かして、カオスのように見える過去からの情報を発信しています。

This trip was a bit of a challenge.

今回の旅行は、ちょっとしたチャレンジでした。

I decided to try and get around my day trip using Illy Translator, a translation device.

We couldn't see everything here in one day, so I definitely would love to make another trip back.

So we're heading Thio Kono Machi now, which is a very old town in Kawagoe.

ということで、今から潮来町に向かっているのですが、ここは川越の中でもかなり古い町です。

And it's supposed to represent the Edo period.

そして、江戸時代を代表するものとされています。

We grabbed a quick bite to eat before exploring the old shops down Kono Machi Kono machi represents Japan's Edo period cuda, meaning warehouse and machi, meaning street.

河野町の古いお店を散策する前に、軽く食事をしてから河野町を散策しました。河野町は日本の江戸時代を象徴する町で、蔵を意味する「久田」と通りを意味する「町」があります。

Back in the day, the street was a successful commercial town.

昔、この通りは商業の街として成功していました。

The merchants here became so rich that they built their very own shops.

I recently had this big love for Japanese roasted green tea, and when I saw a shot for it, I wanted to purchase a bag to take home.

If you love museums, Kaluga Way has its very own.

The wooden structures they used in their festivals are on display.

The movie is all in Japanese, but the image is pretty much says it all.

映画は全て日本語ですが、画像を見る限りではかなりのものです。

It looks chaotic.

Walking further down the road, we came to a street also known as Candy Street, full of traditional snacks and souvenirs for all to enjoy.

道をさらに下っていくと、キャンディストリートとも呼ばれる通りに出ました。

This street was my favorite place in Kawagoe Way.

この通りは川越道で一番好きな場所でした。

So far, there was so much to look at and try.

今までは、見てみたいこと、やってみたいことがたくさんありました。

I noticed people were carrying large, lengthy boxes with what looked like a sweet potato on steroids.

ステロイドのサツマイモのようなものを持って、大きくて長い箱を運んでいる人がいるのに気づいた。

It turns out it's a spongy bread like lightweight sweet potato snack and it's calico, a specialty.

軽いサツマイモのおやつのようなスポンジ状のパンで、名物のキャリコであることがわかりました。

Oh, okay, so it's It's a ginormous piece of bread.

Italy has served me well this trip, if I do say so myself.

イタリアは今回の旅でよく役に立ったよ。

It was definitely difficult not being able to speak Japanese, since I have studied it for so long.

長い間日本語を勉強してきたので、日本語が話せないのは確かに辛かったです。

But it was nice to get a feel of what it's like to be a traveler that doesn't know the language.

でも、言葉を知らない旅人の気持ちが伝わってきて良かったです。

I think this is like not Oh wow, that's so cool.

Ending our day with coffee was the cherry on top.

Cowlick away is definitely a Tokyo day trip gem.

カウリックアウェイは間違いなく東京の日帰り旅行の逸品です。

I didn't know much about it before, but now I do, and I will definitely come back for more since there's just so much to see.

今まであまり知らなかったのですが、今は知っていますし、見所がたくさんあるので、必ずまた来ます。
