Well, I dunno, I still felt like the match was still going.

So, I just thought, that I didn't really think it was real.

だから、現実だと感じてはいなかったと思います。

I mean, you were playing your lifelong idol, Serena Williams, and you even said that.

だって、子どもの頃から大好きだった人と試合をしてたんだし。セリーナ・ウィリアムズと。君自身もそう言ってたでしょ。

Were you nervous to play her?

彼女との試合は緊張した？

Well no, because I've played her once before, I just think since it was the Grand Slam final that it felt like a different experience.

‐ う～ん、緊張はしてませんでした。前にも試合したことあったし。ただ、グランドスラムの決勝以来だったから、その時とはまた違った感じでしたね。

Did you know that you made some amazing shots?

And, now, during the ceremony, the ceremony brought you tears, what were you feeling at that moment?

さて、閉会式の時、君は涙を流していたけど、あの時はどんな気持ちでしたか？

Like, really happy because, Serena, she told me some stuff, and I hugged her.

‐ そうですね。すごく嬉しかったです。だってセリーナが、色々言ってくれて、ハグもしたし。

I've always wanted to hug her, I know that sounds weird.

ずっとハグしたいと思ってたんです。変に聞こえると思うけど。

That don't sound weird to me.

‐ 僕は変だとは思わないよ。

Did she say something encouraging to you, was it funny?

セリーナは君を元気づけるようなことを言ったの？それとも面白いこと？

No, it was just like, she was saying, like, she was proud of me.

‐ いいえ、何て言うか、私のことを誇りに思うみたいなことを言ってくれました。

And for me that's just something I never thought I would hear, because I grew up watching her.

私はそんな言葉が聞けるとまったく思ってませんでした。彼女を見て育ったから。

So, just, for her to even acknowledge, that I'm, like, my existence, I dunno.

ただ彼女が私の存在を知ってくれたことは、何て言うか、

That just felt, like, really surreal.

本当に現実じゃないみたいでした。

No, I thought it was such a classy ceremony, that Serena first acknowledge you the win.

- いやいや、僕はすごく粋(いき)な式だったと思うよ。セリーナがまず君が勝者だと認めたね。

Because, you know, all that had went on during the match, that was a whole news story, we're not gonna get into that.

だって、あの試合では色々あったでしょ。それはまた別の話だから、今はそこは省くけど。

But I'm talking about, after the match was over, when you all were about to receive your trophy, she told the audience, "No, this is her first Grand Slam championship ... and she played her heart out, and she deserves everybody's love and respect."

ただ、試合の後、君がトロフィーを受け取ろうという時、セリーナが観客に言ったこと。「待って、これはナオミの初めてのグランドスラム優勝なんです。ナオミは全力でプレーしたし、みんなに素晴らしいと思われ、称えられて当然です」 って。

I thought that was so cool for her to do that.

僕は、彼女の行動はすごく格好良いと思ったよ。

She wasn't up there being bitter, because, I mean, you finna (you're fixing to) break a lot of records.

ただ、すごく嬉しいよって。私のことを誇りに思うってだけ言ってました。

But honestly, it felt better coming from Serena.

でも正直、セリーナからの言葉の方が良かったかな。
