Female Speaker: So D23 how was the signing? How are you enjoying it so far?

Alex Hirsch: It's good, it's fun, a lot of fans.

I just saw a guy in a Grunkle Stan costume that was probably the highlight of

my day so far.

Female Speaker: So speaking of Stan if he was here what do you think he would be doing?

Alex Hirsch: I think if Grunkle Stan was here he would say "Pretzels for $13?

That's too cheap, raise the price.

Well done, Walt Disney." I have a hunch.

Female Speaker: And you left us on quite a cliffhanger at the end of Season 1 so what are the -

do you have some - can you tease any plans that you have for that second season?

Alex Hirsch: Yes. Dipper, Mabel and Stan are all aliens

and Grunkle Stan is actually a puppet

controlled by plant people so post that, put that on your Twitters, just tell

everyone aliens and plant people Season 2.

Female Speaker: Aliens in Gravity Falls - that works, that makes sense for the show.

Alex Hirsch: Yes.

Female Speaker: What do you think is like the secret behind the success of the show?

Alex Hirsch: I don't entirely know.

I think if you - we try to put a lot of different things together, right?

So comedy and mystery and action

and stuff for little kids and stuff for their parents. It's like a bag of jelly beans with every

flavor and hopefully there's something in there for everyone.

Female Speaker: What has been the most surprising part for you being like

creating Gravity Falls and that success?

Alex Hirsch: This is the most surprising part, like the level of excitement from

the fans.

I never could have predicted.

I always hoped, I crossed my fingers that people would - they'd love it but you

never know working in animation, you spend all this time just drawing alone in

a cubicle somewhere so to come out here and see all these fans is just a dream come true.

Female Speaker: And finally do you have a message for the fans who couldn't be here?

Alex Hirsch: For the fans who couldn't be here I would say thank you for watching
