We are at Gracias Madre and it is a vegan restaurant.

グラシアス・マドレにいますが、ここはヴィーガンレストランです。

I think this is the first time I've been to a vegan restaurant with Crystal.

クリスタルと一緒にヴィーガンレストランに行ったのは初めてだと思います。

I was actually surprised she wanted to come here.

実は彼女がここに来たがっていたことに驚いています。

Well the both of us - we're not vegan but we wanted to try something different.

私たちは菜食主義者ではありませんが、何か違うことを試してみたいと思っていました。

And this place had amazing reviews. It's kinda like the hot spot right now in LA and we're right on Melrose.

Their menu was really interesting when we saw it online and one of the things that Crystal keeps raving about

is this jackfruit. She says it tastes like meat even though it's not meat so I'm pretty excited to try that.

はこのジャックフルーツです。お肉じゃないのにお肉の味がするそうなので、これを食べてみたいとかなり期待しています。

And we just ordered our margaritas so we're just kind of waiting right now for our drinks

マルガリータを注文したばかりなので今は飲み物を待っているところです

and then we'll look over the menu and put in all of our delicious orders.

そして、メニューを見て、美味しい注文を全て入れていきます。

Alright so we got our margaritas.

マルガリータを手に入れたよ

And... we just ordered margaritas... me and Candy, we both got the same thing

そして... マルガリータを注文しました... 私とキャンディは二人とも 同じものを手に入れました

It's the regular margarita but interesting thing is they have a nice bar here but

普通のマルガリータだが、面白いのは、ここには素敵なバーがあるということだ。

they only serve tequila and mezcal. And I guess mezcal is like a Mexican liquor and it's more smoky.

テキーラとメスカルしか出ないんですよ。メスカルはメキシコのお酒みたいで、もっとスモーキーな感じなのかな。

And they make a margarita out of that but I wasn't sure if I liked smoky kind of liquor

マルガリータを作ってくれるんだけど、スモーキーなお酒が好きなのかどうか分からなかった。

so I just ordered it with a regular tequila.

ということで、普通のテキーラで注文しました。

So as Candy was saying, she was like, "Hey, just so you know, this is a vegan restaurant..."

キャンディが言っていたように "ここはビーガン・レストランだから..."

And I'm like, "Yeah I know, I know." Because one of my co-workers... we had like this potluck one day at work

私は「ああ、わかってる、わかってる」って感じだったわ。同僚の一人が...ある日職場でポットラックをしたの

and he made a kind of a pulled pork kind of dish and it was made out of jackfruit.

と言って、豚の引き肉のようなものを作ってくれて、ジャックフルーツで作ってくれました。

Which I couldn't even tell. It tasted like meat.

私には分からなかった肉の味がした

So ever since then, I've kind of been a big fan of Mexican vegan dishes.

それ以来、私はメキシコのヴィーガン料理の大ファンになりました。

So I thought this place would be really great to try.

なので、このお店はぜひ行ってみたいと思いました。

And we just ordered some guacamole. Pretty typical for a Mexican restaurant.

But I'm also thinking of getting that... what was it?...ummm... what was that thing she just pointed out?

でも、それも手に入れようかな......うーん........さっき彼女が指摘していたのは何だったのかな.......？

CANDY: Cauliflower?

CANDY：カリフラワー？

Cauliflower... with some kind of like... oh yeah, cauliflower in cashew nacho cheese.

カリフラワー...カリフラワーのカシューナッツ入りのナチョ・チーズだ

That sounded really interesting. And of course the tacos with jackfruit. Really interesting stuff here.

Mmmm... it's one of the best margaritas I've ever had.

CRYSTAL: It is really good.

CRYSTAL：本当にいいですね。

It doesn't even... I can't taste the alcohol! It's got the perfect amount of lime in there.

それすらも...お酒の味がしない！ライムの量がちょうどいいんだよ

I can probably get drunk off of this. Hahaha. Like it's so good! I need to like drink it really slow.

これで酔いが回ってくるかもしれませんね。ハハハ美味しい！ゆっくり飲まないと

CRYSTAL: Yeah

うん

We're not going to be able to wake up tomorrow morning if I have like... yeah, this is really good.

明日の朝起きれないような...うん、これは本当にいいよ。

CRYSTAL: I know.

知っています。

The chips are really good.

It doesn't necessarily taste like meat, the jackfruit, but it has kind of like the texture of meat

I mean, it looks like meat. It looks like pulled pork.

見た目がお肉に見えるんですよ。プルプルした豚のように見えます。

Mmm! Actually, there's like a little bit of a kick to it. What was in this again? It's a little bit spicy.

CRYSTAL: It's like nacho cheese or something... let's see... cashew nacho cheese and lemon.

Oh... I don't taste the cashew...

あ、カシューナッツの味がしない・・・。

maybe because I just had some guacamole and I'm mixing things up a little bit.

But I do like that it's... uh... how do you say it?

It's got some weight to it... so it's kind of... I don't really know how to explain it.
