十分勉強したかな？

I can't believe its only been a month

車の運転を初めて一ヶ月しか

since I started driving,

たってないなんてありえないです。

and yet here I am.

なぜか、ついに自動車運転免許試験場にきてるの。

If I can pass this final written test,

もしこの学科試験に受かったら

I'll be granted my full Japanese license.

免許証が貰えるの！

Okay, we just finished the test,

さて、テストが今終わったんだけど

and it was a lot harder than I thought it was gonna be.

思っていたよりも難しかった。。。

(upbeat music)

あ！　私がいた！　私だ！

(monitor beeps)

本当に予想外な結果でした。

(Micaela gasps)

８０％の確率で不合格になると思っていた

That's me. That's me.

心から驚いている。

I actually did not expect this to happen today.

最初のドライブ、どこに行こうかな。

I came here like 80% sure I was gonna fail the first test.

ということで早速友達と車を借りて

So this is a really pleasant surprise.

初ドライブに向かって準備をしています！

I wonder where I'll go first.

確かに、緊張はしているけど

Straight away my friend and I rented a car

試験受かったってことで、問題ないでしょう。

for my very first excursion.

あ、ちょっと待ってよ、鍵じゃないじゃん。

I was nervous, but if I passed the exam,

これ、鍵じゃないんだけど。

I must be ready. Right?

鍵は、どうすればいいの？

Okay, red alert, this is not a key.

お、ボタンがあった！

This is not a key. What is this?

うわー格好いい！

それで、うんんと。。。

さて出発します！

What is this?

一番最初に行きたいところはね、

(car engine starts)

気に入っているカフェがあるのよ！

Whew ooh, there we go!

フォトジェニックな場所だし

It's all good.

海沿いにあって

Figured it out; we're ready to go.

食べ物がお洒落だし、

First place I wanna check out now that I have my license

普段、車が持っている友達に 連れて行ってもらっているよね

and a car is Sunflower Cafe in Itoshima.

なんで、今日は一人で頑張って行ってみたいです！

It's super photogenic,

やはり友達と糸島に向かっている時に、 ここにくるのが好きです。

it's like right on the ocean,

福岡市の中心から車で40分ぐらいかかりますが

and I love their food,

なんか、カナダの夏休みでよく過ごしていた

and I can never get there unless someone drives me,

別荘みたいな外見で懐かしいし、

so today I'm gonna drive myself.

店内が明るくて爽快です

(car beeping) (upbeat music)

海の景色もばっちり！

Sunflower's one of my favorite places to visit with a car.

テラス席に座るときは

A 40 minute drive from Fukuoka city center,

犬を連れても良いしね！

the exterior reminds me of a little summer cottage,

結構混み合いますので、早めについた方が良いです。

somewhere I'd spend lots of time back home in Canada.

後、貸切もやっているので、 向かう前にフェイスブックページで

Inside the restaurant it's cozy and bright

営業時間をチェックすると良いです！

with a beautiful seaside view.

野菜ピザを頼みました。

If you're sitting on the terrace,

まるで、ピザ生地に乗っているサラダです！

you can even bring your dog.

そしてシーフードカレーも頼みました！

It gets pretty busy, so it's better to arrive early.

えびがでかいですね！

And a personal tip, always check their Facebook page first

小さな海老ちゃんもあるしね

to make sure they're open for business before driving out.

イカ、甲殻類も入ってて

My vegetable pizza's here, and as you can see,

豪華ですね！

it is basically a salad on top of a pizza.

糸島の外回りを走り道は

Seafood curry.

サンセットロードと呼ばれています。

We got like a big shrimp.

初心者ドライバーにとって楽な道です。

We got some little shrimp,

スタートから最後まで走れば、

we got some squid, some shellfish.

この素敵な半島にある

Wow, it looks good.

砂浜を全部訪れることができます。

The route that takes you along the perimeter

一番人気の観光スポットは

of Itoshima is called Sunset Road,

やはり二見ヶ浦の砂浜と、夫婦岩です。

and it's a popular route for beginner drivers.

神道の伝説によると

Following this route from start to finish,

この綱で繋いでいる石は

youʼll be able to visit all the beaches

夫婦なんです。

that this peninsula has to offer.

ここが大好き！

One of the biggest points of interest

何度もきても飽きないですね。

are the majestic wedded rocks at Futamigaura.

これは、実物をみた方が良いです。

According to Shinto religion,

カメラで映るより迫力があります！

these rocks are husband and wife,

サンセットロードをずっと走れば、海と砂浜が

bound together by a large rope.

楽しめますが

I love it out here.

横切って運転すると

Never get tired of it.

綺麗な緑がたくさんある農地の景色も

I recommend seeing this in person.

楽しむことができます。

It's a lot bigger than it looks on camera.

さて、芥屋の海水浴場まできました。

And while driving along Sunset Road

やっぱ芥屋も変わりましたね。

will show you beachy Japan,

前回きた時と違う。

cutting through the island to get to the other side

アトラクションが増えていますね。

is one way to get a taste of traditional Japan,

まあ、糸島は人気になってきているから

with it's lush green farmland.

どこの砂浜にもありそうですね。

(slow hip hop)

でも、ここの海は、波が少なく

So now I've made it down to Keya Beach,

泳ぎやすいですよ。

and Keya Beach has changed a lot

しかし、糸島は砂浜だけじゃないです！

since the last time I came here.

他にも、神社やお寺など

It didn't have so many attractions,

ハイキングもあります！

but I guess since Itoshima is getting so popular now,

観光客にあんまり知られてない

there's just like, every beach has attractions now.

自然の美しさを楽しめるところたくさんです！

The water's just very calm; it's very easy to swim here.

さて森に入るぞ！

Easy to just float around.

動物の音がすごい！

But Itoshima isn't just beaches.

動物っていうか、蝉だよね。

There are tons of other points of interest as well,

あらま！

including shrines and hiking trails,

こんにちはー！

which are a little less touristy, and more of a way

こういう森ってさー

to experience the natural beauty of the peninsula.

夜になると木が突然動いたり

(adventurous music)

人を掴んで殺したりするよね。

Into the woods we go.

暗く前に帰らないとね・・・

Can you hear all these animals?

多分死ぬと思う。

And by animals, I mean bugs!

あ、光が見えてきた！

Oh my goodness!

太陽の光だ！

That friend could be me 'cause now I have a license.

よく考えたら、先月まで、私が知っていた九州は

交通で繋がっていた九州に限られたよね

今までの人生でずっと、免許なんかいらないと思った

けど、一回その自由を味わってみたら

It's so beautiful up here, and I've just never been up here.

好きなところに好きなときにいけると思ったら

In all the years that I've come to Itoshima,

これから発見する九州がすごく楽しみにしますね。

I've never gone hiking in Itoshima.

これからより深く

And now that I know that this is what it can be like,

九州のよさを見つけて紹介して行きたいと思います！

I think, now that I have a car, and I come out here

そして、ね、一つ知ってほしいことがあって

whenever I feel like it, this is gonna be a thing.

それは、 新しいスキルを覚えるには、まだ遅すぎないこと。

You know it's crazy to think that my life in Kyushu,

I went my whole life thinking I didn't need

a driver's license, thinking it wasn't for me,
