I watched it and realized that

there are times when I use English hashtags

InstagramとかTwitterで、色んな「＃」を使ったら

and a lot of Japanese people

よく、日本人からのコメントが

will get confused

まあ、混乱しているですけど、

and ask like, "What does that hashtag mean?"

この「＃」はどういう意味ですか見たいなコメントが来るんですけど

So, today I'm going to follow Sharla's lead

そういうわけで、今日はＳｈａｒｌａさんの動画に続いて

and share some English slang for my Japanese viewers.

英語のネット用語を日本人の皆さんにシェアしたいと思います。

The first one is this:

まず、一番目はこれなんです：

#TBT is one that really gets a lot of confused comments.

＃ＴＢＴを使うと日本人からの混乱しているコメントが増えてきますよ。

The reason is that

なぜかというと

well, in the past I never really used Instagram

実は、以前、Instagramは全然使わなかった。

until this year I registered @KemushiJP

でも、今年ぐらいにKemushiJPというハンドルネームで

and decided to get my 'gram game going.

InstagramのグラムゲームをUPすることにしたんですけど

But I have this habit of trying to catch up

その日に撮った写真と前の

by posting images I took recently AND a long time ago right after each other.

ずっと気に入った写真を共にUPする癖があります。

For example, this week I posted

たとえば、今週、この写真をUPしました：

this photo of Hakata TonTon

NYCで撮ったHakataTonTonという

it's a famous restaurant in New York City

結構有名なレストランの名前ですけど

so I posted a picture of what I ate

HakataTonTonの和食の写真をUPしたんですけど

but I also posted a picture from a recent trip to Japan that I really liked, too.

それと、この日本で撮った写真をアップしました。

So people will ask "LORETTA, WHERE DAFUQ R U?!"

それを見て、「ロレッタ、今どこ?！」

So people will ask "LORETTA, WHERE DAFUQ R U?!"

というようなコメントがいつも来るの！

Yeah, this is a picture of me in Japan

確かに、日本で撮った写真ですけど、

but it's an old one, so that's why there's a #TBT tag!!

前に撮った写真だから、この＃TBTが付いているよ！

This hashtag stands for "Throwback Thursday"

この＃TBTというのが、ThrowBack Thursdayですけど

But it's a casual word for like a memory.

カジュアル形ですけど、「思い出」っていうことですよね。

Throwback is similar to Japan's word 'Natsukashii" (nostalgic)

このThrowBackという言葉が懐かしい・恋しいに近いですね。日本語にすると

But in English we don't really use 'nostalgic' too often.

普段の英語では懐かしい、

That'a a bit awkward to say.

という風にいわないんですけど

Funny thing though, a lot of people who study Japanese use 'nostalgic' in English a lot.

日本語を勉強する外国人なんて、このNostalgicの言葉よく使うの。

It's like, when you study Japanese

日本語を勉強すると

you notice that Japanese words NATSUKASHII and KOISHII are so widely used

懐かしい・恋しいみたいなよく使われている言葉があるからこそ

so we almost like reimport the common use of 'nostalgia' into English.

逆輸入して英語にすると

Yeah, that's so nostalgic! I really miss Kyoto!

（懐かしいね…京都戻りたいなぁ～）

I love eating ramen! I'm so nostalgic just thinking about it!

（あ～ラーメン懐かしい！早く食べたいなぁ！）

But really, THROWBACK is more common than 'nostalgic'.

でも、本当は、Nostalgicという言葉じゃなくて

You can express this casually by using

Throwbackというなカジュアル形なフレーズで

the hashtag for Throwback, #tb or #tbt .

この＃TBTをよく使っています。

Another word I use a lot is this:

後、よく使っているネット用語はこれなんです。

When you see a picture of food

食べ物の写真をアップすると

Uhhh that looks amazing! Nomnomnom!

（すごくおいしそうそれ!NomNomNom)

But what is NOM anyway...

NOMというのが、なんなんだろう？

A verb? A noun? Kinda noun-ish?

する形動詞？名詞形？名詞に近いかな？

It's like the sound of happily eating something delicious.

NOMというのが「おいしい」と食べている時の音

So if you see something that looks tasty, you can just comment NOMNOM.

もしおいしいものを見たら、NOMNOMとコメントを書いて反応しても大丈夫ですよ

Ahh, this is a good one!

後、ああ、これはいいね！

Meaning "Don't watch this at work."

この内容はオフィスで見ちゃだめ。

It's kind of a warning so you don't get caught.

注意する略語ですね。

Like, some people like to listen to music while they're working at an office, right?

たとえば、オフィスでヘッドフォーンを使って音楽を聴くタイプもいますよね。

Americans are easy-going about that~~

まあ、アメリカ人は結構適当～

But if you're like: "Oh, i really want to listen to the Nicki Minaj song!"

「今日はNicki Minajの名曲を聴きたいなぁ」と思ったら

and you set it to play, but then you boss walks up

MVを検索した瞬間に上司が来て

and seems some awkward video scene

その微妙なMVを見たら、

Like, her dancing BUTT

Nicki Minajの踊っているあれを見たら！！

THERE'S A CRAZY DANCING BUTT!!!!

Nicki Minajの踊っているあれを見たら！！

That's probably not safe for work :)

これがNSFWみたいなMV.

So if you see "NSFW" and you're not in a private space

なので、もしかして、このNSFWをプライベートじゃないスペースでみたら

it's probably best not to click, and save it for later when you're alone...
