We're back with Kobe Bryant.
And Kobe is now expecting another child.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
Thank you, thank you.
Thank you.
So you have three girls.
This will be your fourth daughter.
Fourth girl, yup.
Fourth girl.
Now is that-- were you excited to hear that you were--were you
hoping for a boy or--
No, I'm super excited.
I love my princesses.
You know, I think Vanessa--
Vanessa was kind of like putting a pressure on me to have a boy.
She said, we got to-- you can do it.
You can do it.
And then, nah, you can't do it.
Yeah.
Does that give you pressure to try again for a boy?
Well I would say yeah.
But Vanessa right now would look at me as if I was crazy.
She's like, no.
We're done.
That's it.
Well she says that now.
But--
Right.
Probably.
Now how many would you have, like, total,
if you could have--
how many kids?
I would go for a solid starting five.
Really?
You know what I mean?
And you just have your own internal basketball team,
you know?
Right.
Well, it sounds like you could because they're
doing very well.
We could.
They're doing well.
Yeah they are.
So you're busier than ever.
You're retired.
But then, since you've retired, you've
become a New York Times bestselling writer,
which, that's amazing.
Congratulations!
Thank you.
Thank you.
So that was your last book.
And now you have another book.
Yes.
OK.
And this one is "Legacy and the Queen."
Yes.
What is this about?
It's about a young tennis phenom that
finds that her true power comes from her
accepting her own emotions.
Right?
In our world, the power and the magic within the world
comes from your emotions.
And once she embraces that, then she finds her magic.
That's a great story.
And it's a great thing for girls to be able to--
because sometimes girls are not supposed
to be expressing their emotions so much.
We're supposed to be quiet.
Well at home, you know, dealing with my daughters
and watching them play sports, it's important to have--
I try to teach them life lessons.
And they just can't look at me, like, Dad, shut up.
You don't know what you're talking about.
So I figure I better put it into a sports story that involves
a little fantasy and magic.
Right.
This way, I can teach them without them
having to roll their eyes when I talk to them.
Well and they should read these books.
Do they read your books?
They do.
So they read them as I write them.
Oh that's great.
So we'll be sitting there and I'll bring back
a chapter or a couple ideas.
And they'll look at me and be like, Dad,
that's a really bad idea.
Oh they give you notes?
Oh all the time.
Oh good.
Or that's great, Dad.
Keep doing that.
Well that's great.
Because then you really get the feedback right away.
Well they don't pull punches, that's for sure.
And are you going to be the JK Rowling's of the sports
fantasy book world?
No.
The goal for us is really try to find great creative writers
and try to help them with their own careers
and launch their careers.
I just come up with the idea.
And then, you know, these writers
just take it to another level.
That's fantastic.
Well it's a great idea.
And the last time you were here, I have to ask,
you we gave you a Harry Potter robe.
Yes.
Because you're a big fan.
And there's a-- so you are wearing it?
I am wearing it.
That's great.
I am wearing it.
OK.
In all my wizardry.
I got for your new baby so you all can match--
Oh my god!
Are you kidding?
That's amaze-- this is amazing.
Are you kidding me right now?
I'm telling you.
Yo.
Yup.
It's good.
Daddy Dumbledore and Baby Dumbledore.
Yeah.
All right.
You can preorder "Legacy and the Queen" now on Amazon.
The book comes out September 3rd.
