Hi! Today I'm going to talk about Uniqlo's HeatTech innerwear.
I'm actually wearing it right now underneath this sweatshirt
and underneath this skirt that I'm wearing.
I'm wearing the HeatTech leggings and HeatTech long sleeve top.
So, what is HeatTech?
HeatTech basically generates heat from your body to help you stay warm
and it also helps you stay fresh.
So I can wear this shirt that I'm wearing underneath for 3 days
and it will still smell like it just came out of the dryer and I'm not joking because
I have worn it for 3 days in a row and it still smelled fine
but I went ahead and washed it anyway because in my mind I'm like
Ok, it's probably dirty even though I'm not smelling it.
Hahaha but anyways
I take and I wear HeatTech innerwear whenever I go and travel to colder climates.
It really does help retain the warmth...
It's moisture wicking and it helps retain body heat
and it really works with your body temperature
so if I'm sightseeing and I'm walking around outside
and all of a sudden I have to take the train or the bus...
it's like fluctuating temperatures all the time
but wearing the HeatTech innerwear really works with my body and it helps me stay comfortable
throughout the day.
I discovered HeatTech innerwear from Uniqlo
I wanna say about a few years ago
I didn't actually discover it on my own.
My sister, who lives in Japan, she's a big fan of it
so she said that I should give it a try.
And I did and I loved it and since then, I've expanded
and I now own two leggings and three tops.
But they are a little bit different.
I have...
the three tops that I have, two of them are the same and one of them is a little bit different.
and the two leggings that I have
they're both different.
And what's different about them is that HeatTech has three different categories.
They have the HeatTech, HeatTech Extra Warm and the HeatTech Ultra Warm.
So basically, you know... just from the titles
the fabric... you can basically guess that
the Ultra one is super warm, the Extra Warm is a little bit warmer than the regular HeatTech.
I don't actually have the Ultra Warm one. I never traveled or been in a climate where it was necessary.
Just having the Extra Warm has been plenty warm enough for me.
Weather that's 30 degrees, I'll wear the Extra Warm,
a wool sweater or cashmere sweater and then a coat and it keeps me pretty comfortable throughout the day.
And I'm going to show you right now the one I'm wearing is the regular one
It's got a nice scoop neck so that it doesn't expose...
...because that's the last thing you want is wearing something and then the HeatTech...
...the clothing underneath is exposed.
It might not match. It might look sloppy.
And I don't want that so they really thought about the cut of the fabric.
The one I'm wearing has a deep U-neck.
They also have ones where the shoulder is cut more deep.
This one has a regular cut of the shoulder.
If I can show you, it's just right there.
But they have some that come just above the shoulder
so if you have top that's a little bit deeper,
they'll have a style where it won't show.
Another thing about HeatTech innerwear
the tops - I'm wearing the long-sleeve but they have a variety of styles
they have short-sleeves, tank tops and even a turtleneck.
And these shirts can be worn by itself.
It does not have to be worn underneath clothing.
So yeah, it's cool that you can wear it by itself if you want to as well.
Another thing I like about these shirts is that it's very smooth and silky
so it's a little bit different from cotton.
You know when you wear cotton, you layer it and it kinda sticks to the clothing you're wearing?
So it kinda creates like these weird creases
and it's just kind of uncomfortable.
Well, you don't have that problem with this fabric.
It's very smooth so it moves with the shirt...
not moves with it, but it doesn't stick to the shirt you're wearing on top
and also, it doesn't stick to your body so it's really, really comfortable on your skin
So that's one thing I really like about the fabric of this as well
is that it's not sticky and it really works with your body
and it doesn't stick to the clothing that you're wearing on top.
Same thing with the leggings. Right now I'm wearing the leggings underneath the skirt
which is great because I can still wear skirts and go to cold climates and not be cold
because I'm wearing nice, warm leggings underneath.
And what's great about these leggings are that the waistband is thin
so when you're buckling or zipping up your pants or your skirt, it's not getting in the way
of being able to button it or buckle it or zip it up.
They made the fabric thin up on top and flat so that it doesn't interfere with that.
Which is great because that was one thing I was worried about.
I was like, well, if I wear these leggings underneath my pants will I be able to close my pants?
Because most of my clothes are pretty fitted. I don't really wear a lot of baggy clothes.
So it's nice that the fabric is thin. They've thought about the waistband and making sure that's thin as well.
Cause you don't want to add extra inches to your waistband.
So when I first bought the HeatTech shirt,
This is the original one I bought and because it worked so well
it helped me stay fresh and it kept me warm
really comfortable throughout the day
that I decided to buy more
so then I ended up buying the leggings
and then I was like, you know what? I should have an extra shirt
so then I bought another shirt. I got just like a simple black.
And then I was like, well, if I go someplace that's even colder or one day if the temperatures really drop
I want something that's a little bit warmer
so then I got the Extra Warm leggings and the top.
So I'm a huge fan. I'm not sponsored by Uniqlo.
I just really love their products.
One, because they work.
Two, the fit is nice.
And three, they're very, very reasonably priced.
I think I bought this shirt for like $12 or $14.
I forget. I bought it when it was on sale.
That's another thing too. They have sales all the time.
And I bought this in-store in Japan but they have stores in the US
and they have a website where you can purchase clothing online
and be on the lookout for free shipping
because they offer it quite often
and also they offer discounts a lot of the times
so they have deals all the time.
So I generally tend to buy from them when the season's about to end
cause then they reduce a lot of the prices on their clothing
and I know I'm going to use their HeatTech.
The one thing I like about their products
is that not only do they have it in clothing
or not only do they have it tops and pants
but they also implement HeatTech in their socks,
leg warmers, hats, gloves
anything you can think of.
They've been developing this for 17 years
so they know what they're doing.
If you actually go to their site, they have a whole page dedicated to explaining what HeatTech is.
They have diagrams and videos so it's pretty cool to learn about the products really in depth
so you're not just seeing text that says, Yes, here's HeatTech and it works.
They really go through the science and let you know how their products work.
