However, the better lock is, the more delays an unauthorized intruder.

Now, one simple way to increase the delay lock provides is to attach it to a mechanism that needs to be turned more than once to open.

That brings me to today's lock.

It's April card door bolt now for cards, a company that's not particularly well known in the U.

S.

Even though it's owned by the same company that makes leg and kryptonite.

That's because these are mostly sold in Europe.

It's a surface mountain deadbolt, and, as you may have guessed, it needs to be turned twice to fully retract the bolt.

It also has an integrated six pen dimple core that will stick through a hole drilled in the door.

We're going to see what it takes to pick this open, and then I'll show you a shortcut that a picker can take tow.

Avoid having to pick this twice.

I'm going to use this Z bar is a turning tool and believe we need to go counterclockwise and to lift the pins.

I'm using this multi pick flag.

Nothing on 123 for five.

Okay, Number six is binding.

So let's set that now.

I'm stuck behind to click there and stuck behind one.

So let's set that as well.

As soon as I set pin one, we dropped into a false set.

That means we probably have a school or to holding us up.

Let's find them.

There's one in chamber three.

Okay, click out of three.

But we lost our false set and I tried to pull back.

I hit two, and we got our false set back.

We're still in that false set, so there's at least one more school in there.

There's one in chamber five set five, and we got it open.

So now that I picked it, I could continue to rotate the core, normally, in which case it will re lock and I'll have to re pick it.

But I could also use a short cut.

It uses a tool called a plug spanner.

It's a spring loaded device that spins the core so fast that the pins don't have time to re engage on a few different spinners, but this one is probably the most powerful.

It's made by a company in Germany called Went, So let's see if it has enough power to spin this.

I think we just did that.

And there we go, got it unlocked.

So a double turn mechanism like this doesn't always have to slow you down if you know what you're dealing with and you have the correct tools.
