  • does not matter which position you are being interviewed for within the food and beverage

  • industry, please do make sure you watch this tutorial from beginning to end, because I

  • cover during the presentation, to achieve that goal. I will give you sample food and

  • beverage interview questions for all roles. I will give you example answers to help you

  • succeed at your food and beverage interview. I will tell you the qualities you have to

  • show at your interview to pass, and I will also then give you access to further resources

  • to help you succeed at your interview. Before I do that, a very warm welcome to this presentation.

  • My name is Richard McMunn. That's me there in the center. I've been helping people to

  • miss out on any of the weekly training videos I upload. I would also very much appreciate

  • your support if you gave the video a LIKEthank you very much. That tells me you enjoy

  • the content, and I'll create more for you. OK. Let's get into those food and beverage

  • interview questions and top-scoring answers. The first question I want you to prepare for

  • is, tell me about yourself and why you want to work within this food and beverage role?

  • Now, this will be the very first interview question that comes up. So let's give them

  • a powerful and positive answer, because then that enables you to move forward with the

  • remainder of the interview with confidence. Here we go. “I believe I am a professional,

  • attentive, positive and flexible person who enjoys working in a customer-facing role.

  • The experiences I have gained in life so far means I will be able to carry out the duties

  • of this food and beverage role to the necessary standards. For example, I have experience

  • of providing great service to people, I can work as part of a team in a supportive manner,

  • I am diligent and will not make mistakes, and I am also a very fast learner. That means,

  • if I am successful at the interview today, I will be able to learn the role in a short

  • space of time, so I can then start making a positive contribution to your business.”

  • That is a brilliant answer and it is positive in nature. It shows that you are enthusiastic

  • about the role and you can make an immediate positive start. Let us now take a look at

  • the second food and beverage interview question that I want you to prepare for, and that is:

  • why do you want to work for us? Why do you want to work for our company? My tip is, in

  • your answer to this food and beverage interview question, show you have thought carefully

  • about the reasons why you want to work for their company. Here's my perfect answer: “Because

  • we spend so much time at work, I believe you should choose your employer carefully. When

  • I first saw this food and beverage role advertised, I started looking into your company, and it

  • quickly became apparent that you are a good company to work for. The way the business

  • has developed over the years is impressive, and it is also clear from some of the comments

  • left online by both customers and former members staff, that you are an excellent employer.

  • I want to work for a company where I am supported in the role and I also want to work alongside

  • passionate and dedicated people. I believe this will be the case if I get to work for

  • your organization.” So that is a great answer! Its concise, it shows that you've looked into

  • them, you are being positive and complimentary about them, and you feel that you will be

  • a perfect fit for the role and for their organization. I still have more questions to run through,

  • so please don't go anywhere. But when you're ready, if you want to CLICK THAT LINK in the

  • top right hand corner of the video, it takes you through to my website, PassMyInterview.com,

  • and you can download my full set of 19 Food & Beverage interview questions and top-scoring

  • answers. Let's move on to the next question. What qualities do you have that will help

  • you to thrive within this food and beverage role? My advice is to have a set number of

  • qualities ready to talk about in your answer to this interview question. Here is my suggested

  • answer. “I have numerous skills and qualities that will help me to perform well within this

  • role. However, I would say my top ten qualities are: CUSTOMER-FOCUS, ATTENTION TO DETAIL skills,

  • an ability to WORK HARD UNDER PRESSURE, a FLEXIBLE approach to work, which means I can

  • work the hours needed, and also the fact I am a FAST LEARNER. I am also a POSITIVE person

  • who is a SUPPORTIVE TEAM WORKER, I can always be RELIED UPON to do a great job, I have HIGH

  • STANDARDS OF PERSONAL PRESENTATION and I have a COURTEOUS AND PLEASANT ATTITUDE.” The

  • fact that you are listing 10 there is greatthat will help to make you the standout candidate,

  • because the other applicants will be sitting there in the interview chair thinking off

  • the top of their head of what qualities they have that they can bring to the role. However,

  • you already have a list of 10 in your head that you can real off in response to this

  • interview question! And this response is really good for other questions also, such as, tell

  • me about yourself? So they are really good qualities to have within the food and beverage

  • industry. The next question we need to prepare for is: what would you do if another member

  • of the food and beverage team were not pulling their weight? So you have three options for

  • answering this question. Number one is, ignore the situation and basically do the work yourself

  • to make up for the shortfall. Number two, you can report it to your manager or supervisor,

  • which is probably the second best option. However, my option would be to tackle the

  • issue yourself. Because that shows that you don't want to waste your manager's time because

  • he or she are busy. So you're going to sort this out yourself, because you care about

  • the team. So here is my answer. “I would speak to them immediately, in private and

  • out of the way of customers. I would politely explain how important it was for them to help

  • the rest of the team, as if they did not pull their weight and do the duties they were supposed

  • to be doing, it would not only start affecting the rest of the team, but it could also impact

  • on the level of service we provide to our customers. The food and beverage industry

  • is highly competitive, and the success of the business is dependent on returning customers.

  • The only way we, as a team, would get repeat custom, is through providing great levels

  • of service on a consistent basis.” That is a brilliant answerit's really, really

  • strong because it shows that you will take action. But you also, more importantly, understand

  • why not performing to the necessary standards can have an impact on the customer service

  • levels and the business as a whole. The next question is, what's your biggest weakness?

  • Whatever you say in response to this food and beverage interview question, do not give

  • a weakness that is a match for the requirements of the role. Here's the best way to answer

  • this question. "I think my biggest weakness has to be the fact I find it hard asking for

  • help from other people. I am the type of person who wants to figure things out for myself,

  • but obviously this can take extra time, when in fact a more efficient way of doing things,

  • would be to simply ask someone within my team for help or guidance. Although this is a weakness,

  • one of my strengths is I always react positively to feedback from others and I always look

  • to improve and develop within my role.” The next question is, tell me about a time

  • when you went above and beyond for a customer? When have you delivered brilliant customer

  • service? Give a SPECIFIC SITUATION you've been in previously where you've gone above

  • and beyond what was required. Here's a great answer. “I was working in a previous role

  • dealing with a customer who was experiencing some issues ordering one of our products online.

  • My role required me to deal with customer calls within a set time period; however, I

  • felt this was one of those situations whereby I needed to exercise flexibility and go out

  • of my way to help the customer. I could detect they were not very computer savvy, so I spent

  • additional time asking them questions to find out what product they needed. After a few

  • minutes of probing, I managed to establish their requirements and I then found the perfect

  • product for their needs. I then took the payment over the phone and I reassured them the process

  • was secure. I also upgraded them to our fast delivery service as a gesture of good will,

  • and the following day I called them to check they had actually received their delivery.

  • The customer went on to leave a glowing review of our company online, so it was certainly

  • worth the extra effort to help them out.” Now, the way that I have answered that is

  • by giving a specific situation I was in where I'd helped a customer, and that is the way

  • to answer that behavioral type interview question. Do not say what you WOULD DO in that kind

  • of situation. Give a SPECIFIC SCENARIO you've been in previously where you've gone above

  • and beyond for a customer. The next step for you to take, is to download my Food & Beverage

  • Interview Questions and Answers PDF guide by clicking that link in the top-right hand

  • corner of the video. It will take you through to my website, PassMyInterview.com and you
