I featured APIs brand products containing their high end X plus core.

Well, this caught the eye of Ricky, who works in a bike shop in Texas.

He recommends Abbas products with these cores and has apparently told his customers that they can't be picked now.

To be fair, he is correct that the chances of an X plus core being picked on the street is quite low.

But that said, they're certainly not unpick a ble.

Anyway, Ricky wanted to see how I fare against one of these locks.

If I had never picked it before, he offered to supply the lock and I agreed to open the box and pick it on camera.

So this is it.

We're gonna open it up and get to picking, okay?

We just have the lock.

No key.

And I'm not familiar with this particular model, but it looks like we have the X plus score.

The first thing we're going to do is rotate it as far clockwise as we can.

And you noticed I gave it a little jiggle, and that was to release the disc locking mechanism that I'm going to get the pick that Bosnian Bill and I made.

And as I look at this, I see the flat bottom, and I'm gonna try getting one of my standoffs.

And let's adjust the height of this just a little bit.

Let's see how that is.

I think that's just about right for this, okay?

And generally speaking, these X plus cores bind from the back.

So let's go check out the bottom disc.

I'm going up.

Another click.

I think that was the third or 4th 1 Okay, I got a little bit of movement on the core, which probably means every single one of these disks is in a gate.

Now, I'm going to go back to the bottom and see if we can find the true gates.

Wow, I got that open.

Ah, lot faster than I was expecting.

Okay, Ricky, you have your answer.

I'm not sure it was what you were looking for.

I didn't time this, but I think it was a little bit quicker than the other X plus cores I've picked on video.

I know that didn't take very long, but it does bear note that these do require a fair bit of skilled open.

So if I were in your shoes, I would still be recommending these to my customers.

So I leave out the unpick a ble bit from my sales pitch.
