  • Hi, everybody.

  • My name is Richard on in this video, I'm going to cover graduates Aptitude tests.

  • So if you're required to want to take any kind of graduate test or psychometric assessment for a job application or interview, then you're gonna find this video extremely useful.

  • Please watch it from beginning to end.

  • Make sure you take notes.

  • And there are also a number of questions for you to try as I progressed as I progressed through this video.

  • So I'm gonna cover tutorials questions on dhe sample answers to help you pass your graduate or cycle lectured aptitude tests.

  • Okay, let's get straight into it.

  • A little bit of background about the different kind of tests that unformed part or comprise of graduate aptitude tests, you are more likely to be asked questions relative to numerical reasoning, verbal comprehension, mechanical reasoning, critical reasoning, inductive reasoning, abstract reasoning on also spatial reasoning.

  • Now there's lots of different tests that can form on encompass graduate aptitude test.

  • I'm gonna cover the majority of these in this video as well.

  • What I'd like to do is just also explain how these tests are likely to be presented.

  • Well, you will more often than not have to carry out graduate aptitude tests under timed conditions on.

  • They will also usually be multiple choice in nature, which does make it slightly easier if you so.

  • If I just quickly show you this sample question here.

  • Very basic.

  • One question number to calculate 6.47 minus 3.29 You will be presented with Eva four or five options to choose from now, some of them will be extremely similar.

  • Like, for example, A, B and E are similar, and this is designed so that it means that you can't wild guess on.

  • Also whilst on guessing, some people feel that if they're running out of time on, let's say they've got five questions left to answer.

  • But I can't complete them fully than they will guess.

  • This, in my opinion, is a bad move because some employers on testing centers will deduct marks for incorrect answers on a lot of tests are really difficult to complete under time conditions with the time that you got left, so speed and accuracy are just as important as each other.

  • So the answer their question to would be 3.18 very similar to the option B and es as well.

  • Okay.

  • Also, another really important tip you guys is to calculate how long, on average you have to answer each question.

  • What I mean by that is that you can generally find out prior to the graduate aptitude test, how long the test is and how many questions you have to undertake.

  • So, for example, if there are 30 questions in total in the test and you have 20 minutes to complete the test, if you do a quick calculation on U turn minutes into seconds, then divided by the number of questions that will tell you how long in second you've got per question.

  • So if that's the case there with 30 questions, you have got, on average 40 seconds to tackle each question, which is not that very long.

  • So when you're practicing graduate aptitude tests before you go along to the real exam, my advice is to spend no longer than 40 seconds on each question.

  • Now, the sample questions that I'm gonna give you today actually only give you 12 seconds, so you're under quite a lot of pressure, but I think it's better to work in that way, because then when you go along to really test, you might have more time to complete it.

  • Okay, let's have a look at a number of sample questions.

  • I've got quite a few to work through with you, You'll find is really useful for graduate aptitude tests.

  • And also, like I said, I'm gonna give you guys some toe work for yourself.

  • So below is a diagram of a cube.

  • You have to work out his volume in cubic centimeters.

  • Okay.

  • Not sent to me to square, but cubic centimeters on the way to work this out.

  • Volume is length multiplied by with multiplied by heart.

  • So what we have to do is 0.9 multiplied by 0.9 by 0.9 and the answer will be 0.73 cubic centimeters.

  • Okay.

  • Really basic.

  • Really simple on whilst on this, you're not likely to be able to do this in your head.

  • You were more often than not with graduate tests to be allowed to use a calculator.

  • But obviously, the important today is to make sure you know how to use one.

  • So I'm gonna give you guys a sample question.

  • Have I got this one below is a diagram of a cube workout.

  • It's William in cubic cubic meters.

  • Please put your answer in the comments section below for market.

  • So three by three by three You got 12 seconds to answer that question, and you should have been able to work that out in your head without the use of a computer.

  • Okay, sample question Number three.

  • How many different numbers could be made from these four playing cards?

  • So you've got 493 and one.

  • We have to work out how many different numbers can be made from these four playing cards.

  • Now the way to tackle this question quickly is to work out how many numbers can be made with one of them starting, for example, of four first.

  • So you can make those six numbers only from the number four starting at the beginning, so you'll see that will quickly work out how many I can do there, which is six.

  • And then all I have to do is multiply that by four to get my answer.

  • So because there are four playing cards, simply multiply six by four to reach your answer, because it's pointless standing there and working out.

  • How many begin with nine.

  • How many begin with three.

  • And how many begin?

  • We won because we already know the number of variations.

  • So the answer, therefore would be 24.

  • Okay, What I want you guys to do is have a go.

  • This one again.

  • Put your answer in the comments section below for Mark in simple question.

  • For how many different numbers coming made from these three playing cards?

  • You got 12 seconds toe work that out and moving on to question number five.

  • Okay, this question is very similar to the Kanye would get asked during graduate aptitude tests.

  • Sample question five.

  • A function is represented by the following machine.

  • So we have an input and then it's multiplied by eight.

  • So the import, whatever is multiplied by eight plus eight and that gives you the output and he stays there.

  • If the output is 64 what is the input?

  • So that's the input there.

  • We need to find out the number that goes there to complete the sequence where we already know that the answer is 64.

  • So it's something multiplied by eight plus eight equals 64.

  • So the way to work this out.

  • I'm gonna get you guys to do this in a second is working out.

  • Turn it on its head, Turn it around to start with the 64 instead of the plus eight.

  • Do minus eight and then instead, off multiplied by eight, divided by it.

  • And that will give your input, which is seven.

  • So seven multiplied by eight plus eight equals 64.

  • Okay, Relatively straightforward, if you know this process and you can answer these questions really quickly.

  • So sample question number six.

  • Same type of question, but with different numbers of function is represented by the following machine.

  • A number is put into the machine, which is the input.

  • Now, the output of this is 71.

  • What is the number?

  • The input that's put into the machine.

  • You got 12 seconds to work this out.

  • Not long.

  • Off you go.

  • Okay.

  • Hopefully have managed to work that one out.

  • Moving on now to sample question seven, which is a form of abstract reasoning.

  • So it stays here, complete the pair.

  • Look at how the figure changes from box.

  • Want to box to and then apply the same changes in order to find the missing box.

  • So we're trying to find out what goes there, and we're having to use the top two squares or boxes toe work out.

  • Some kind of sequence will change and then apply it to the bottom one.

  • And then we have the options below.

  • Multiple choice A, B, C or D is the answer.

  • So if we look at the top to weaken, see that each of the four shaded parts moves in words one place, and once it gets to the center and then goes directly back out to the top, so looking at the options below, the only answer it can be is a on.

  • If I was under time conditions, I would directly and eliminate C, D and B because they have different shaded options, you can see there.

  • The second Central circle is entirely different to anything else that presented.

  • Therefore, the only answer can be a okay question Number eight.

  • This is a different, kind off spatial reasoning and abstract reasoning question.

  • So we have to work out which of the cubes coming made from the cube net.

  • So this is the cube net, and we're looking down on this from above it's laying flat on the floor.

  • And then we have to work out which three d one is constructed from this net when it's put together.

  • And there's only one answer Now, the way that I recommend you calculate these out, we're gonna get you guys to have a go at this in a second is to use a process of elimination to tackle this type of question.

  • So if I look at a, I can tell straight away that it is not the correct answer, because if we look at that circle there at the top in the middle of the net, you can see that that goes there.

  • But next to it, Here are these two.

  • Are these two parts off the net?

  • Is that one there on the right and that one there on the left.

  • Therefore, they can't sit next to each over there.

  • They would have to go on the alternate side of that circle.

  • Therefore, A is not correct.

  • B is also not correct, because if we look, that circle there again is at the top.

  • This one here, this small moon shape, actually when this is created, would sit on the alternate side of that one, So it's definitely not be the same applies for D.

  • That is not the correct answer is that the only one it can be is In fact, C C is the correct answer to number.

  • Right?

  • Question number nine.

  • This is for you guys to have a go work out Which of the cubes can be made from the Net.

  • This is a tricky one.

  • Please.

  • Once you've got the answer, put it in the comments section below for marketing and you've only got 12 seconds to work this out.

  • Off you go.

  • Okay, hopefully managed to find out the correct answer.

  • Question number 10.

  • Which figure completes the sequence pattern again?

  • A similar kind off non verbal reasoning question or abstract reasoning.

  • So this is relatively straightforward because each shape across the top moves anti clockwise 90 degrees each time and shift from a circle to the six sided check so you can see there you have the circle and then the shape moves around 90 degrees anti clockwise.

  • That's a six sided shape.

  • Therefore, if it continues 90 degrees anti clockwise, we are looking for a shape.

  • They're so straight away we can eliminate be we can also eliminate E move around again.

  • 90 degrees.

  • It goes to six sided shape on also the circle.

  • Will he answer?

  • Can only be a because they are alternating.

  • So we are looking for a circle there in that position, and that's the only one.

  • Therefore, the answer to Question 10 is a moving on question.

  • 11.

  • This is for you guys to try.

  • Which figure is the odd one out from A, B, C, D or E.

  • Please put your answer in the comments section blow for market.

  • This is quite a tough question, but I'm gonna give you a clue.

  • The clue is in the direction off the arrow.

  • She got 12 seconds to answer questions.

  • 11.

  • Off you go.

  • Moving on to question 12.

  • Which figure completes the sequence pattern.

  • Okay, so you've got these five across the top.

  • We're looking from a, B, C, D or E.

  • Which one goes here?

  • This is quite a tricky one.

  • But if you look for a sequences and where the dots move, you should be able to wanted it.

  • So again, give this graduate aptitude test question ago.

  • You've got 12 seconds to want to question 12 OK, brilliant question.

  • Number 13.

  • Now, this is a kind of non sorry.

  • A verbal comprehension test on you're given a massive text.

  • Now, the reason why I wanted to put this kind of question up is to show you how confusing it is.

  • The important thing here is to read first of all, the title off the scripts that he says the importance of health and safety in the workplace.

  • Don't bother reading all of the text.

  • It will take you too long.

  • What you should do to answer this is look at the question and then search for information within the text based on the question so it jumps out at you.

  • So it says here on employer must ensure all floor surfaces are non slip in order to prevent slips, trips and falls.

  • And you are given three options.

  • Is the information true folds or you cannot say based on the information provided.

  • So I'm going to do quickly is scan through this text to see whether I can see the words slips, trips and falls and I'm looking through and I can't see anything at all.

  • I can't I do actually know.

  • And this is what you got to be careful.

  • I do know that an employer must ensure or floor surfaces are non slip in order to prevent slips, trips and falls on.

  • That generally falls under health and safety guidance.

  • But if the information isn't presented to you in the text, you cannot say.

  • Therefore, the answer to Question 13 is cannot say, based on the information providing a lot of people would put true.

  • But that would be incorrect because we are not presented with information.

  • Okay, I want you guys to have a go at a sample question.

  • Fortin.

  • Don't forget to learn what I've just told you.

  • Read the title, but don't read the information and then look for the information in the question to be ableto want to it, analysts predict to North 0.4.

  • Rise in Internet sales is a true be false or C cannot say, Please put your answer to 14 in the comments section below, and you got 12 seconds to work this one out.

  • Okay, well done.

  • Question number 15.

  • Here's a kind of mechanical comprehension question.

  • The following three HD Visa parked on an incline, A, B and C, their center of gravity is identified by this dot got one there one there and one there.

  • Which of the three H DVD is least likely to fall over, least likely to fall over?

  • Okay, so let's say we turn the question around which of the one is most likely to fall over.

  • Okay, So which one would you think is most likely to fall over?

  • Well, the further to the left either direction of the incline, the more likely the four will occur.

  • So that would be a.

  • However, if we actually tackle the question which of the three hate Stevie's is least likely to fall over?

  • Then the answer would be see, because it's further over to the right question.

  • Number 16 How much weight is required to balance point X So we have point X here.

  • Now, this is a thing to look out for.

  • You got the weight there 20 kilograms.

  • You got one meter point there and you've got two meters there, so double the distance.

  • The weight is hard, so the double distances the two meters because he's double from one.

  • Therefore, we have the weight.

  • That answer is 10 key the grounds.

  • So question 17 for you guys to try to balance the beam.

  • How much weight should be placed on the right hand side?

  • Here.

  • Okay.

  • And you've got 12 seconds to onto this question.

  • 21 feet there, 14 feet.

  • They're So this is slightly more tricky when she got the answer.

  • Please put it in the comments section below for marketing market.

  • Off you go.

  • Okay.

  • Well done.

  • That's question 17.

  • Moving on.

  • Question 18.

  • A builder is told to pitch his ladder 1/3 of the working hide away from the building below.

  • So you've got 12 meter building.

  • Their 12.

  • Me too high on the ladder.

  • Needs to be pitched 1/3 of the working hard.

  • How many meters away from the building should the foot of the ladder be placed?

  • Please put your answer in the comments section below for Marquis, you got 12 seconds to onto number 18.

  • Okay, well done.

  • So, to give you Mork graduate Aptitude tests, please click the link below the video and it will send you three to a page where you can get access to grow up.

  • Mortgage adieu.
