It appears to be an antique U S Navy lock, made of solid brass with four levers and made in Philadelphia by W.

Belen sons.

In reality, this was never a U.

S.

Navy lock.

It only has three levers inside.

And to the best of my knowledge, it was made in Hong Kong during the 19 eighties.

I call it a fantasy lock because it is not an antique or a copy of an antique.

This is a complete fabrication.

There never was A W.

Navy never used a lock like this.

Unfortunately, I often see them on eBay with high asking price is being sold as genuine antiques.

In fact, eBay is often saturated with fake antique clocks.

Most of them are fairly obvious to experienced collectors, as is the case with this one.

However, when purchasing antique clocks, the buyer really does need to be alert and do their research.

However, just because this is a fraud doesn't mean we can't have some fun picking it.

So let's see what it takes to get this open.

And it looks like we opened this up.

Yeah.

So it seems like I only needed to pick two of the three levers to open this up, which wasn't very difficult, but I really didn't expect much from this lock.
