  • I'm sorry.

  • I've been away for a little while.

  • I've actually been working on this plan.

  • Just don't marry a 51.

  • Now.

  • What we're gonna do is go in there or I've just been busy moving into a new place, whichever you'd like to believe.

  • Today we're gonna talk about how much I made as a computer science and turn a systems analyst intern to be more specific and to cut right to the chase enter between 2500 and $3300 per month.

  • Now, the reason for the range will get into in just a second.

  • But I'm telling you this I don't mind talking about it simply because they kind of put this on their own website.

  • This is Norfolk Southern is a Fortune 500 company that I've worked for.

  • As I mentioned, I was a systems analyst intern for them.

  • I've worked with their systems analyst team.

  • A little bit of what I did to warrant that $253,300 per month salary was some sequel stuff, a little bit database work generating reports, and then a lot of Microsoft office.

  • So anything that you would expect as a typical intern that works on the computer.

  • I kind of did that.

  • Anything from creating Power Point presentations to working in Excel to generating whatever type of word document or what happened.

  • I would build power point presentations for the director, who was probably like three branches above me.

  • So the director of my group to present new ideas or or ventures within the group to the VP or whoever wasn't already over her.

  • And of course, it's just kind of scratching the surface of what type of work I did there.

  • But it was very in turn light, but also real world experience.

  • With the sequel on the database working What happened?

  • I just want to give you a little bit of context.

  • You could understand what warranted that amount of money.

  • Now, speaking of the range, I wanna hop on into here to give you a little bit of better understanding.

  • All right, so we're gonna do is come on over to the jobs that an s Corp dot com website, co ops and inter job's gonna learn more, and obviously you can come here if you want.

  • This is the U.

  • R L.

  • And this is why I gave you the ranger dependent on your about a credit hours.

  • Essentially what class you were in school is a freshman.

  • You made $2500 per month sophomore, 20 $100 per month junior.

  • $3000 per month, seeing your $3300 per month and then graduate 36 $66 per month.

  • The reason I didn't do that because I haven't been to graduate school.

  • I don't plan to go.

  • Also was an undergraduate, and what I made my first semester was with him.

  • I don't know if I mentioned this earlier.

  • This was a co op.

  • Basically, the way Coop works is you go to work with a particular company for one semester, say, a fall semester.

  • You go to school, spring semester and summer semester.

  • You go back to work and so on and so forth.

  • There are collapse where you can literally do this essentially for your whole entire college degree and pretty much graduate without any debt.

  • What I did was I had a full internship with them, and I also took on a full load of classes like 15 or 18 credit hours.

  • I would recommend that that was probably a really bad idea because my great self heard my This was also when I was starting off my YouTube channel.

  • So basically, in all honesty, that whole entire semester probably had an average of four hours of sleep per night, and you could see that in those videos.

  • I think that was late 2016 actually here nor there.

  • When I was a full coop, I was a junior, so I got paid $3000 per month, and that was for about what, four months thing.

  • I worked there till the end of December, and then when I went back the next summer, I was officially a senior in terms of credit hours.

  • So I got paid $3300 per month for about three months because that's how long summer semester.

  • Now, when you click on fuel, you'll notice that they supposedly have no open positions matching this category or location that is in terms of co ops and in terms of what not?

  • But if you come back here and you go over, you can see on lengthen.

  • It looks like this is an open job for Summer tells 19 I guess that's it now, But over here What?

  • You could see if they have some for fall 2019 and they're probably a few others like this one right here.

  • Fall to those in 19.

  • This was essentially my job, I think.

  • Yeah, this was exactly my job right here.

  • Fall tells in 19 in a row systems internship as I worked in a metal systems and I worked with an immortal operations.

  • Actually, operations took a liking to me, and they actually sent me to Chicago for my second semester.

  • Cause gently how it works.

  • Your first semester, you do a lot of the intern work.

  • You kind of get your footing.

  • And then the next semester you come in, which they only allow people to come in if they're going to be here at least two semesters as long as they decide to invite you back for a second semester.

  • And that's when you do.

  • You're like a big project for me.

  • I went over to Chicago.

  • There are three or no therefore inter motile terminals over there.

  • That's a whole conversation in and of itself.

  • And it's a lot of manual processes at those locations.

  • So what I did is I got up.

  • I was at the terminal by, like, 2 a.m. driving nine to Chicago on the outskirts.

  • Didn't know where I was.

  • People tried crazy in Chicago, and then I would stay until about 10 a.m. Give or take it just all dependent on the particular day in document the whole entire process for what they did.

  • A one particular job at each of those terminals.

  • And then it was my job to figure out how to automate those whether that be automated completely or allow the the person working there to shrink their eight hour day down into a to our day.

  • And then they could spend the other six hours doing whatever they want, or I don't know that's on them.

  • I was just trying to figure out how to be more efficient enough about this particular internship.

  • I want to talk a little bit more about what y'all can expect in an internship, especially is computer science majors?

  • As many of you all are, and that is, don't take an unpaid internship.

  • There's always variables and exceptions to the role.

  • Maybe there's an amazing opportunity, but it's a computer science student.

  • You should be making anywhere from 15 to $20 per hour and an internship co up.

  • That's how much this is.

  • If you were to take the $2500 per month and you do the math on that, believe that is $14 on 42 cents.

  • I did this map yesterday, so correct me if I'm wrong down in the comments.

  • But the $2500 per month, $14.42 per hour as a freshman in college internship, your gaming experience or making some pretty decent money, you don't have to be a total broke college kid.

  • And then once you're a senior, the $3300 per month you're gonna be getting paid.

  • I think that's around $19 per hour, maybe close to $20 per hour.

  • So that's what you should expect somewhere in that range as a computer science intern.

  • Now, I had another job at NASA.

  • Langley was a contract job where it was at NASA Langley, but does under another company.

  • You'll know contract stuff worked, and I think there may have gotten paid 13 or $14 per hour, but like I mean, that was I was happy without as well, Very first internship ever.

  • So if you're gonna take anything away from this video, just that's it.

  • I mean, I don't know how it is outside the United States, but within the United States expect to get paid and 15 to $20 per hour.

  • I've seen some of these internships.

  • Other.

  • They're like, No, it's unpaid, but you have a high chance of getting a job after you graduate.

  • If you're an intern here, if it's paid, you also have a high chance of getting a job.

  • That particular company.

  • As long as they like you, you do your work because obviously you made it past their interview system.

  • Now you're an intern there.

  • It'll make your life a whole lot easier building connections within that company.

  • That's a company that you actually want to work at once you graduate, doesn't matter if it's paid or unpaid.

  • If you do your work and you're a likable person, you have a very high chance of getting a job there if that's what you want.

  • If you do plan on going into any of these internships anytime soon, if it's something more Software engineering, internship.

  • Instead of like a systems analyst, you may need to study for some algorithms of affiliate partnership with algo expert where they essentially teach algorithms to you coding on the rhythms in it.

  • Khan Academy style.

  • I'm gonna leave my Lincoln the top of the description use Perma code forest for 30% off if that's something that interests.

  • And that's basically the end of the video in terms of talk about this inter ship.

  • Now let's talk a little bit about this office in a few things that are coming up on the champ.

  • I'm gonna be doing a whole entire office billed out where the whole desk that's gonna be built out.

  • I'm gonna have another desk, right.

  • There may be a bookshelf here, and they're definitely stop hanging on the wall.

  • So it's not as echoey as you may hear.

  • Now, hopefully, you don't hear the echo, but I also have gotten quite a few things in the mail.

  • That is the rise in new 3700 X.

  • This is the new Horace generation for us.

  • S D.

  • This is, um, trying to see rgb Ram.

  • I got 2060 super graphics card.

  • I got some isopropyl alcohol and thermal paste because I'm gonna be reusing my water cooler.

  • And then finally, I got this nice motherboard right here.

  • He having guessed yet?

  • I'm building a new PC.

  • Many of y'all have already knowing that, but for anyone who didn't know that, you know, I also have a brand new monitor that I'm going to be adding on to this one.

  • That is 100 20 Hertz 145 something something more than 60 Hertz like this one in a brand new computer case that's going to be a series on this.

  • I have quite a few videos that I want to make surrounding that, including the build kind of the performance tests as well is comparing it to this five year old PC.

  • So I should probably sit down here soon and duel the benchmarks and test on this PC before start tearing it apart to use some of the extra components in here like the battery and the water cooler and whatever else it throw it over into the new PC.

  • So that's something you only interested in, or you just like this video as a whole.

  • Please give it a big thumbs up in subscribe.

  • Because if you don't subscribe, you're never gonna know about how much better this 2060 super is then, eh?

  • I think that's like a 9 70 detection and 70.

I'm sorry.
