  • Uh, good evening, guys.

  • I'm hanging out with my friend Quinlan today on we're in downtown Morioka.

  • And I thought I would take you guys out for a night on the town with me, especially because I showed you the old Gordy the downtown area in the daytime.

  • And it's no fun in the daytime, so I wanted to show you guys what it's like at night time.

  • So, yeah, I'm gonna go for dinner and go for drinks, and then I'll show you, but of the downtown area, it'll be fine.

  • So where we going first?

  • First, we're going to this tiny little place called Asanuma Show 10.

  • And it's mainly discovered.

  • Was an Australian friend of mine showed it to me because it's got the greatest entrance of any shop in Morioka.

  • Okay.

  • And in fact, I don't know if you guys could tell how tiny this door is.

  • Maybe I should go stand by it, so yeah, Yeah, give us that.

  • It's cute.

  • How did that come about?

  • You know why?

  • Well, I don't know about this particular one, but you know, the story always goes with a lot of places in Tokyo and it'll area they would have the small doors so that samurai wielding swords could not Russian attacking.

  • Oh, my God, that's really cool.

  • Good to know.

  • All right, let's go inside.

  • I will have a mission.

  • So yeah, this place has a system where if you get a 200 yen drink, which there are a few, it's on the white straw.

  • You get 300 which is includes a tap Pearson like that.

  • It's 300 young red straw.

  • I believe you're getting a high end nation.

  • It is 400 yen on for something that has a strong will.

  • Be right in there, collect in your jar against a little jar and then at the end of the night.

  • That's how you can tell how much tax included.

  • It's very simple.

  • Cheers.

  • Jeers.

  • Yeah.

  • Oh, yeah.

  • Oh, yeah.

  • Oh, really?

  • Nice thing is really good.

  • After we finish our drinks here, we're going to head over Italian food, actually, and Japan is really good at doing Italian.

  • On another bonus is that they have lots of vegetarian and vegan stuff.

  • So if you're having trouble finding anything that fits your diet in Japan for a vegetarian or vegan for an Italian restaurant because I was find at least one past there that I could eat.

  • But we're going to a fancy place, and it's like a course.

  • Wear street of getting courses.

  • It's all locally sourced.

  • Every single ingredient is from us.

  • All right, Time to pair.

  • Bill.

  • We got to read straws.

  • That is 800 years, I think.

  • A cool little place.

  • It's pretty quiet down here.

  • The crowds are all down on old Gordy.

  • I guess that's cute.

  • Oh, this is Yeah, It closed and opened again or No, it's a different shop.

  • It's an Indian restaurant now.

  • Oh, yeah, A little bar that it liked.

  • This is such a pretty little river park area gonna short you guys one day when the weather warms up.

  • It's so beautiful.

  • It's such a nice place to walk.

  • Oh, wow.

  • Check out the Christmas lights.

  • Morioka Stepping up their game there be Whiting.

  • I was just hoping that they would start putting up some lights through December.

  • And they have.

  • They haven't let me down.

  • Is that tower always lit up or is it a Christmas thing like that for at least a couple of months?

  • A color That's cool.

  • I love walking along this river.

  • I go for walks along here.

  • It's got a really nice walkway.

  • Have you been to that cafe?

  • I haven't.

  • I always pass it and think that it looks really nice.

  • Oh, uh, just a coffee shop.

  • But you can drink beer there at night.

  • Really?

  • Cool.

  • Also decorated the lampposts along the street.

  • That's really nice.

  • It's a nice cobblestone road.

  • I don't think I've ever been down here.

  • And here we are.

  • This is the Italian restaurant.

  • What's it called you, Philo?

  • Otherness.

  • Philo, I am so stoked.

  • Cannot wait game or Christmas stuff.

  • Our seats upstairs.

  • This is such a cool old building.

  • Love it.

  • No.

  • Oh, that's so nice.

  • This place is so cool.

  • It's so cozy.

  • Love it.

  • It's not that large.

  • Four tables here And then there was a bar counter downstairs.

  • We have the whole place to ourselves at the moment.

  • That'll probably change jeers.

  • It's super tasty.

  • It takes like a smoothie.

  • Actually, it's really clean.

  • Look at this tasty little appetizer.

  • Apparently, this is an Italian style kind of okonomiyaki dish, so a savory pancake.

  • And he said all the dishes they use at this restaurant, our local to Iwate Prefecture as well.

  • Look at this gorgeous dish.

  • I wish I knew where to purchase some.

  • I would definitely get some for my house.

  • I love it so much.

  • Taste you.

  • Do you make me get home?

  • I do.

  • I love the green hands on top.

  • So here we have a beet salad, beet and carrot salad, and this is a radish dish that's flavored with African spices.

  • It's very fragrant.

  • Smells like cumin, coriander.

  • Typical that curry spices.

  • Actually.

  • Whoa, going to disappears in your mouth.

  • When you bite into it, it must be stewed.

  • I expect it to be a lot tougher.

  • It's really hard to explain.

  • It's kind of about the texture of a really soft marshmallow and beats.

  • It's so exciting to see beats in Japan.

  • They're one of my favorite vegetables, and they're not included in Japanese cuisine.

  • So I never see them go to a foreign restaurant like this.

  • So Quinlan has run into a little dilemma.

  • I've run into a snag.

  • What's happened?

  • Well, it's a course menu, so we don't decide anything.

  • All I know is I'm getting this nice course, but yeah, what you could see but maybe not recognize on here.

  • So look at this.

  • You see that, huh?

  • Guess Guess what.

  • Guess what this is now, This is a family friendly channel, so I'll try and say this and most delicate way that I can, But this is basically salmon.

  • It's what the salmon uses to fertilize the eggs.

  • So, yeah, they eat it in Japan.

  • It's called shit, uncle, and you're not a fan.

  • And I had it once before, and the only reason I had it before is because I was told How could you say that?

  • Like you've never tried it?

  • I thought, Yes, you're right.

  • And it was worse than I imagined.

  • Oh, no.

  • I love this restaurant in this chef is amazing.

  • So if anyone, I actually I have faith that you will like it because I've had Chicago before and I actually liked the flavor, but I didn't like that.

  • I like the flavor, but all right, I don't get too much my first bite, but I have to take it all.

  • Have to take it off, making it worse.

  • Good.

  • Well, yeah, I guess it doesn't mean it won't make sense.

  • It's not just that, you know in some hole sauce thing, but it's got this fishy nous that pervades it that I'm not a big fan of but but yeah, all the other flavors are so delicate you want some complex and it's this vegetable base.

  • Shocked, I reminded it's good school in replacement of the normal anchovy sauce that they would use.

  • They flavored it with Koji the socket Koji that you guys saw in my camping video if you watched it.

  • So that's really neat.

  • Wow, I can't live.

  • There's no cheese in this kind of taste, like it has a Parmesan labor.

  • Todo has brought out a tray of knives and we can choose our own steak knife.

  • All right.

  • My steak has arrived.

  • It's a radish and cauliflower steak replacement.

  • It smells so good.

  • I can't wait to dig into this And look at this cool dish.

  • I'm really enjoying seeing all the plates and accessories that they're using to serve the food.

  • It's so nice.

  • Oh, yeah.

  • So the spaces are so nice.

  • Contest like fried chicken.

  • It's a weird thing to say, but yeah, it really does.

  • I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant.

  • I was so impressed with this meal.

  • Every single dish was super tasty.

  • It was really cool how he could make it a vegan.

  • I'm pretty sure he would take any requests you have.

  • So if you have certain allergies or dietary restrictions, feel free to contact them beforehand on Oscar.

  • Any changes you need but certainly recommend this place if you find yourself in the Morioka area.

  • This is such a nice little street.

  • In there, you see the yellow one.

  • It's a peek atyou, but so this is my favorite pub in Morioka.

  • So far, it's called Sundance is actually the place where all the foreigners used to hang out.

  • But if you go there nowadays, it's mostly this Japanese people and me probably.

  • But it's kind of like, ah, British style pub.

  • They have all the foreign beers they got like fish and chips and all the typical dishes you would see in a British pub.

  • It's really nice.

  • Scudder really nice, cozy atmosphere.

  • I love it.

  • So there's actually an area town that I've been meaning to check out.

  • What?

  • I haven't made it there yet.

  • So I'm gonna stop by there now When they made a video about it, There's a new like a row of shops along the river.
