  • It's Natasha of NatashasKitchen.com,

  • and today I'm sharing

  • a creamy chicken asparagus pesto pasta.

  • It has everything you love about a creamy pasta

  • with incredible flavor,

  • and it's impressively easy.

  • This 30-minute meal might just become your new favorite.

  • Start by cooking your pasta.

  • (snaps)

  • You'll need 12 ounces of fettuccine noodles

  • or your favorite pasta.

  • Add salt to a pot of boiling water

  • and cook the pasta according to the package instructions.

  • (soft upbeat music)

  • While the pasta is on the stove, let's do some quick prep.

  • Snap away the tough ends of your asparagus,

  • then cut them into bite-size pieces.

  • (soft upbeat music)

  • Transfer the asparagus to a plate

  • so it's ready when you need it.

  • Now slice one pound or two medium chicken breasts

  • in half lengthwise.

  • (soft upbeat music)

  • Season all over with about half a teaspoon of salt

  • and a quarter teaspoon of black pepper, or season to taste.

  • (soft upbeat music)

  • Heat a large deep skillet over medium heat

  • with two tablespoons of olive oil.

  • Once the oil is hot, add the chicken in a single layer

  • and saute until the chicken is fully cooked through

  • or about three minutes per side.

  • Then remove it from the pan and let it rest five minutes

  • before slicing it into bite-size strips.

  • (soft upbeat music)

  • In the same pan, no need to clean it,

  • add another two tablespoons of oil

  • and your prepared asparagus.

  • Saute for just two to three minutes

  • or until its crisp-tender.

  • Add two cups of heavy whipping cream, bring it to a simmer,

  • and cook another three minutes stirring occasionally.

  • Stir in four tablespoons of pesto sauce,

  • then add the sliced chicken back to the pan

  • and cook another two minutes.

  • Season the sauce to taste,

  • and I added about half a teaspoon more salt.

  • Once the pasta has reached your desired doneness,

  • drain and add the cooked noodles to your finished sauce.

  • (soft upbeat music)

  • Stir to coat the noodles in sauce and take it off the heat.

  • (soft upbeat music)

  • (laughs) Ooh!

  • I cannot wait to eat this because my kitchen smells so good!

  • Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum!

  • Okay.

  • Just give this a quick toss.

  • Make sure every noodle is coated

  • in that amazing pesto cream sauce.

  • Ooh!

  • So creamy!

  • Wow!

  • Okay, and I like to add a little bit of fresh basil

  • because there is basil in a good pesto sauce,

  • so it works really well together.

  • Hey, here we go.

  • Time to serve it up.

  • (soft upbeat music)

  • Look at how creamy!

  • (laughs)

  • Mmm, mmm, mmm.

  • Little bit of extra chicken and asparagus.

  • And I love that this is just a meal in itself.

  • It's got protein.

  • It's got veggies.

  • You've got your pasta.

  • We've got dinner tonight!

  • (laughs)

  • Okay, can you tell I'm excited?
