  • - This fall, I had the opportunity to go to

  • the east coast of Canada and spend some time

  • in one of my favorite places, Prince Edward Island.

  • Being surrounded by the island's natural

  • vibrant colors and the old fashioned buildings,

  • you really feel like you've stepped

  • inside of a Canadian folktale here.

  • So, a lot of you kids might be too young to remember this,

  • but I actually have been to Prince Edward Island before.

  • And the very first time I vlogged a trip

  • to Prince Edward Island, I started

  • right in front of this light house right here.

  • It feels really kind of surreal

  • to be five years older, five years wiser,

  • but I'm here, I'm back where I started.

  • Prince Edward Island was formed by

  • a bed of soft sandstone, high in iron oxide.

  • The color comes from the rusting of the dirt,

  • giving Prince Edward Island it's

  • signature shade of brick red.

  • This really makes the landscape on the

  • east coast of Canada feel strikingly different

  • from the west coast and the Canadian Rockies

  • that I'm used to seeing.

  • That was such a beautiful fox.

  • Okay guys, we stopped the car, look at

  • right in front of us is this gorgeous little fox.

  • And he's just chilling, he's not afraid

  • of anything, which is kind of not so good.

  • He should be more afraid of us.

  • But, he's just so beautiful.

  • I love the colors.

  • Look at you handsome boy, he's such a handsome boy.

  • The biggest city on the island, Charlottetown,

  • is home to around 36,000 people.

  • But the tight-knit community welcomes

  • over a million tourists to the island every year.

  • Many come in the summer to get away

  • from big cities and relax, but fall harvest

  • is a really fun time to visit if you're a foodie like me.

  • There is one more thing about this island

  • that makes it a special destination

  • for people all over the world.

  • Lucy Maud Montgomery, the famous author

  • of Anne of Green Gables, was born here.

  • And it was on this island that she wrote

  • about Anne's adventures, which later went on

  • to be translated into 15 different languages,

  • making it a well-known story, even in Japan.

  • So, what trip to PEI is complete without

  • a trip to Green Gables.

  • Here we are at the Anne of Green Gables park.

  • I grew up with the story of Anne of Green Gables,

  • and recently I've been watching Anne with an E

  • on Netflix, so being here in this

  • house is actually really exciting.

  • I find it really nostalgic to look at these rooms

  • and, like, remember little details about the story

  • that I had totally forgotten about.

  • How many times have you been here?

  • - I think 2,000.

  • - [Host] 2,000 times?

  • - In twenty years!

  • - [Host] But you really love Anne, right?

  • - Yeah.

  • - [Host] What do you like about Anne?

  • - Well, she started as an orphan, but she studied hard,

  • and she went to a good school and she got married with a

  • doctor, so she's climbing ladder to success.

  • - [Host] Yeah, it's very inspiring.

  • - That's the part I like.

  • - Yeah, that's a good part.

  • Prince Edward Island is surrounded by

  • deep sapphire blue sea, which means

  • it's rich in delicious sea food.

  • You can find lobster and clam chowder

  • on almost every menu here.

  • And while you'd expect to be paying top dollar

  • for lobsters of this size, here on the east coast

  • of Canada, this fine dining is incredibly affordable.

  • So, for lunch I have a mango and lobster salad.

  • And it's crazy, it's huge.

  • My hand's this big, salad's this big.

  • Normally I never eat lobster because it seems

  • like such a hassle to, like, bread it apart and pull

  • the meat out, but luckily, here, they do it for you.

  • This is a lot of meat, it's a lot of food.

  • Mmm, so good.

  • Alright, guys, so now we are here at one of the

  • must-stop location in PEI this is COWS Creamery.

  • They have the best ice cream, on PEI at least.

  • But, also possibly, like, the best ice cream in Canada.

  • Possibly the best ice cream in the world.

  • Thank you.

  • - You're welcome.

  • - Oh.

  • So I got Gooey Mooey and Wowey Cowey, which are

  • two of the flavors at COWS Creamery, you know,

  • because it's COWS Creamery, I should get the ones

  • that are named after cow puns.

  • Look at all that caramel just dripping off

  • this ice cream cone onto my hands, making a huge mess.

  • Oh, oh.

  • Oh, I'm in heaven.

  • Mmm.

  • So right now we're in Georgetown, which is a tiny

  • little town in Prince Edward Island,

  • with a population of about 500 people.

  • It's really, really nice here.

  • I love all the old buildings.

  • And we were just at the playhouse, where apparently

  • wedding banquets are often held, and they have

  • this beautiful public garden right next to it.

  • And it had me thinking, like, how cool would it be

  • to have, like, a small wedding with, like,

  • close family and friends and just come to PEI

  • and, like, have a little family get-together.

  • Take some photos in beautiful dresses

  • and see those in this old-fashioned town,

  • and just, like, eat lots of lobster.

  • In my opinion, the best part about being on the island

  • is that every experience feels extremely personal,

  • like you've stepped into a fairytale-land

  • where time seems to stand still and

  • you're able to just enjoy the moment.

  • (man singing)

  • This lobster is, like, the size of my head.

  • And I'm going to eat it.

  • The only thing I regret about this trip

  • is that I couldn't spend more time here on the island.

  • There's still so much to explore on the

  • east coast of Canada, but I guess that just means

  • I'll have to come back next year.

  • Thanks so much for watching.

  • If you like this video, let me know.

  • Do you have a favorite place in Canada?

  • I'd love to hear what your favorite spot is, too.

  • If you want to see more travelogs from

  • this channel, don't forget to subscribe.

  • Thank you, and I'll talk to you again soon.

  • Bye.
