Then got you moved to city as a white yes player.

I got released from the forest for being too small.

And after that, they pretty much sign men.

And it just kind of happened in the space of, like, a year.

Wow.

The trunk was in charge of Nottingham Forest when they said your poor heart and Steve Wigley or they moved to city nickname The Pocket Rocket.

How did that come about?

Just used to run, didn't I?

Just didn't think too much about just anyone got in front of me.

I just believed I could just get past him.

So I just did it.

And then you went on to play under Kevin Keegan.

Would you say it was him?

That kind of got you to play the wingback position?

Um, yeah, I think it.

I think he kind of, in a way at the time got pressured into play me because when he first took over after Joe role.

He wouldn't play me because he said I was too small to defend from corners.

But he wanted me to place an attacker.

But as a back pulse didn't think I was that good A header.

And Lily.

So we went into wing backs and then we played with, like, free centerbacks in.

Then it kind of transitioned from the wing back in tow, the winter road.

But you still manage to go on and play for England.

Mature England debut in what, 2004?

Um, it was it was quite well because the city fans would always at the time it was happening.

City fans will always be chairing, like get him on.

Why isn't he playing after that step way kind of build a good relationship Me and Keegan And it worked out perfectly in the back row.

It was new for me because I had never fought ever gonna be defending like the way I did.

But I found it a bit easier because I was never had my back towards anybody, said the picture was always, like, right in front of me, which, obviously, as a player, it helps because you see things a lot quicker without having to turn.

So after that, I just I thought to myself, right, if a manager needs you to play somewhere, don't moan about just learn how to play it because you never know what's gonna happen.

But did you learn how to play it?

Did you work on it?

Yeah.

I actually played there nearly for the whole year, and I've been find a problem.

When I signed for Chelsea at readin, I played right back.

Now I don't think I would have been out to play right back if I hadn't have played right wing back before.

Yeah, they're so funny how you say that as well because I started as a striker.

Miserable foul didn't score goals, But soon as I got moved back into right wing right back exactly how you did it, I knew everything was in front of me and I knew when to attack the space.

Exactly.

So I think it helped him when I was younger in primary school.

Before I ever played, I had to play netball.

My head, Martha from private school, mister and just get away said to me If I don't play netball.

I'm not allowed to play football anyway.

Said it would benefit me on it was only as I got older, I kind of realized that it actually did because he said you you will know what's around you without having to always look, you can kind of anticipate where somebody's gonna come.

And there was a few times I got out situations and, well, how did I get that?

And then it all kind of come kind of just floods back on.

You know, people's position is on the pitcher, you know, kind of right where he's coming from the outside.

So the spaces over there what?

They're so interested them.

But your education continued.

So from Kevin Keegan, you then got you move Thio.

Chelsea?

Yes, I cried like a baby when that happened, by the way, did Yeah, yeah, because I always as a kid, growing up playing for see through the ranks.

I just fought like it was quite naive for me to think it, but I just thought I'm just gonna be there all my life.

I've never just gonna go anywhere.

So did they come to you and say OK, Sean, wait I had to sell me.

Basically, I didn't know at the time, but the club was in a bad situation at the time that I left, and that obviously would have helped him in that situation.

So they had to accept the offer.

Basically, you must have rang people.

You know, you died, however, for guidance.

Anyone since it moved a 1,000,000 times just get on with it and do it.

Yeah, but like the connection I had with, like, the fans or this stuff around the club.

And we used to do a lot of stuff in the community.

So it always do like the Christmas panel every year.

Even though I was shy back then, I would still go on the stage with the kids and have a laugh and stuff.

So there was all things like that at the time that was just gonna get taken away from me.

So it was like having to start again.

Almost the the lucky thing was when I went to Chelsea at the time, there was a few players I already knew.

They helped me settle in pretty quickly, but walking into the stadium with Dad and obviously my agent at the time, he was just like a big kid.

That was just laughing and giggling.

And I'm just I'm quite laidback person.

So I'm just going with the flow.

And he just looked to me, said some Weren't you smiling?

And you happy said, Yeah, I'm happy.

I'm just I just don't need to act like you.

I always remember so happy at the time, but after signing there, getting getting settled with the boys, that never regret anything about it.
