  • And you feel stressed out because when you finish something and then there's always more and more things powering up and you just playing catch up here trying to catch your breath like Oh my God, you know when when it is gonna end and you're like, totally stress out.

  • You see, with myself with our organization with running a group of companies, there's always more problems right there, always another project as lot initiatives, a lot of projects going on all simultaneously when I'm running a good cos it's just the way that it is.

  • So one of the my students, where was asking me this question?

  • So, Dan, how do you handle stress, right?

  • How do you not get all stressed out when you're under pressure?

  • Now I do, from time to time, get stressed out.

  • I'm human being as well, but there are some things that I do that could help me manage some of these things And how do you also still be able to perform its function and a high level even when you're under a lot of pressure.

  • So today I want to give you some tips on that.

  • Would that be helpful to you comment below?

  • So first of all, is don't be a perfectionist.

  • You see, a lot of times when we tryingto make everything perfect, we want everything to line up perfectly so that we won't make a mistake.

  • The problem is, when you are focusing to be deaf, perfectionist, right, when you're focusing on everything has to be perfect.

  • That usually not just usually almost always that slows down your progress, right?

  • We can try to make it perfect.

  • And chances are he's not gonna be perfect.

  • Anyway, we're chasing something that almost doesn't exist because in business, whatever you do when you put on the market place any project and in the shit initiative that you have, chances are you have the pivot.

  • You have to tweak, right?

  • I have never seen a business plan that fails on paper.

  • Right On paper, it sounds good applying sounds going on a piece of paper, but when you executed, they're all waste tweaks.

  • In fact, sometimes you gotta she can You know what?

  • I thought this would work.

  • And now that it doesn't work, having that flexibility to be able to pivot in terms of behaviors and mindset, it's very critical.

  • So value progress over perfection.

  • You don't have to get it right.

  • You just have to get it going.

  • As long as we're moving forward.

  • As long as we a little bit closer to our goals.

  • I am okay with making some mystics.

  • I'm okay with not getting it perfect.

  • Number two Script your day.

  • Imagine you are a performer.

  • You are performing in front of a large group of people at a theater.

  • Right?

  • What do you do?

  • Do you just go out there and perform and say whatever you want?

  • Say whatever you feel like it dens, whatever you feel like it.

  • Know every thing that you do.

  • The entire performance is rehearsed and, most importantly, scripted.

  • So not just scheduling your day.

  • I'm talking about scripting your day.

  • There's a difference scheduling your day.

  • Sometimes it could be other people.

  • They want your time, right?

  • If you look at your calendar right now, do you have a lot of other people's agendas on your calendars?

  • That are simply distractions, or that you feel it's an obligation that you have to attend to some of these meetings and things like that on this phone call, right versus scripting your day, meaning that you are a performer, right, that you're running your business, you pursuing your career.

  • This is the outcome that you want just like a performance.

  • At the end of the day, we want to entertain the audience.

  • We want them to be enjoyed.

  • Experience it, give us a standing ovation.

  • That is the outcome that we want.

  • How do we script out so that it happens?

  • So scripting is you block out every single thing that you're gonna do throughout the day.

  • You scrip it, your lunch, you scrip it, right, you'll exercise time, you put it in and your script, you block it out so the other people cannot put their whatever agendas onto your calendar.

  • You protect your time.

  • In fact, you protect your time more so you and you protect your money because that's your most valuable asset.

  • You have to treat it like so.

  • If you think you do, you have to ask yourself the question.

  • Return on time invested R o T I.

  • What?

  • It's my return.

  • If I invest this amount of time talking to this person, meeting with this person, handling this email, where is versus being all distracted?

  • So script your day Number three.

  • When you are feeling stress.

  • And recently I just talked this to my wife, Jenny, and I thought Jenny would know this more than anybody else.

  • But turns out she doesn't, and it's been very useful for her.

  • So she's working on a pretty project for me, and she had a lot of things in her mind.

  • She felt overwhelmed a little bit under pressure because there's a deadline.

  • And I said to her, Instead of keeping everything in your head, why don't we write everything?

  • Oh my God, it's overwhelming, right?

  • And it's like, No, no, let's sit down together.

  • We spend about 45 minutes and she wrote everything out, right?

  • Let's buy list.

  • And so and then I helped to categorize.

  • Okay, these things would go here.

  • These things would go here.

  • This would this would have with 30 day deadline.

  • It's actually a 60 day deadline.

  • You have a living more time with these tasks.

  • And when she does that suddenly she feels believe.

  • So in your mind.

  • You may be thinking you've got 100 things to do, but when you lay it all out and you might think Well, actually, I have 100 things, but actually no, I don't.

  • I only have 20 things to do and out of those 20 things, I only need to do these two things this week.

  • And this month, I need a accomplished these 10 things.

  • So then you're not less overwhelmed when your layout don't keep it in your head, Write it out.

  • And there may be some things where You know what?

  • I don't even need to do this.

  • I can just cross it out to lead it.

  • And this one?

  • Maybe.

  • Maybe I could do it much, much later.
