  • I recently took part in an amazing project with five other incredible women in the YouTube

  • Tokyo Space Jidaigeki set. Jidaigeki meanshistorical playso as you can imagine,

  • the whole set was shaped to look like it was from another era!

  • You can probably guess from the intro, but we made a music video! It won’t be released

  • until the 15th, but before then we all have our own videos to share first! Most of you

  • probably don’t watch Japanese YouTubers, so I want to introduce you to the awesome

  • Japanese women I worked with today. Theyre all amazing so I hope youll check out their

  • channels!

  • First up is Sayulee, the incredible song-writer and singer! She made this song! The name is

  • Chuwon Chuwon, and I’ll talk about the meaning behind it a little bit later!

  • This is Sasaki Asahi. Pro YouTuber, beauty guru, model, and dancer, Asahi-san is the

  • intimidatingly gorgeous woman who planned this project with Sayulee and YouTube!

  • This is Yuka Kinoshita. She’s a competitive eater.

  • Oh geez, Yuka will eat them all.

  • I want to but I'm trying to be patient.

  • In her most viewed video she ate 62!!!! hamburgers in a row! What is she doing with it all I

  • don’t understand!

  • This is Kumamiki, fashion school graduate, Harajuku designer, and beauty vlogger!

  • She's the go-to person you want to watch if you like Japanese kawaii culture!

  • This is HappyShoot Jacky. She’s a dancer and the owner of the artistic photography

  • company HappyShoot. She coordinated all of our kimono and hairstyles for the video, and

  • choreographed a dance for us!

  • Together, we all brainstormed and put our thoughts and hearts into the song Chuwon Chuwon.

  • We could flap. Like a bird.

  • As professional women in the public eye weve all faced similar difficulties, and this song

  • is about overcoming our hardships and using them to make us stronger. Each of us has our

  • own story in the music video, so pay attention carefully! I actually don’t know what everyone

  • else’s stories are, and I haven’t seen the final video yet, either, so I’m dying

  • to see it just as much as you guys!!

  • Most of the day was spent getting us all into our kimono and makeup. We had not only a regular

  • kimono, but also a heavy kimono coat on top of it.

  • It's really heavy.

  • You might be able to guess but it was really hot! The head pieces were also a bit weighty,

  • but they were so amazingly put together that I didn’t want to take it down at the end of the day!

  • Seriously, the creativity that went into designing the hair styles for everyone

  • was just insane. The whole day I couldn’t stop looking at everyone else!

  • We all took turns filming our individual video parts. The scene director knew exactly what

  • positions we needed to be in for everything so it went by pretty quickly! I still don’t

  • know what the shots he took looked like, so I hope he got a good angle!

  • After our individual pieces were filmed, we had to learn a dance, which everyone else

  • turned out to be AMAZING at. But I have absolutely no coordination.

  • Can you dance? No. Not at all.

  • We're gonna have a hard time.

  • So it took me a while to get it. I hope I look at least somewhat graceful in the final video.

  • There’s one move where we all had to swing our kimono sleeves up over our arms,

  • but my kimono coat didn’t have separate sleeves, so there was nothing for me to swing.

  • So when you watch the dance scene in the video, see if you can spot me awkwardly trying to

  • fake a sleeve swing with my little kimono arm flap.

  • All in all it was one of the funnest days I’ve had in Japan. I feel so honored and

  • blessed that I was able to be a part of it and work together with such amazing women.

  • I’m really grateful to everyone for inviting me and helping me throughout the day, and

  • I really hope I get to work with everyone again!

  • The full video will be released on the 15th, but until then the rest of us are all uploading

  • our own videos, so please look at the video schedule and subscribe to everyone’s channels!
