  • Hello World from where I'm from in Japan, this is what Japanese Halloween is like.

  • Alright so you're interviewing me. What's different about trick or treating in Japan and in Canada?

  • In Japan, I don't even know if they have trick or treating.

  • Because we did an event, there was an event where you paid some money and you can go walk around to 20 houses where they organized in advance

  • and so all this group of like I don't know maybe 300 or 400 kids

  • they all got together and walked in this big long snake of a line and they go and say "Happy Halloween"!! and they get candy.

  • Happy Halloween

  • But they don't say "Trick or Treat" I don't think.

  • So trick or treat in Japan was kind of different because

  • the only reason we had it where we live is because there's an English teacher who started it. Like maybe 10 years ago or something

  • but the rest of the people living around our area, they had no clue about trick or treating

  • Hello

  • Hello?

  • Okay, so tell me, how was Halloween in Tokyo, in Japan?

  • Well it was kind of different. But It was fun

  • Yeah it's kind of sad you only get one candy, each house. Oh each house, ya.

  • Are you eating your candy already, Shin?

  • Yeah, one candy.

  • Look, who's this guy?

  • A ghost

  • Were there any cool house?

  • Umm, yeah!

  • Yeah? Well what was cool about the houses you went to?

  • Hm, one had a purple zombie.

  • He went like this *sound effect*

  • And, how are the costumes

  • of the kids?

  • Well, just like Canada or Vancouver

  • Just like Vancouver?

  • Yeah

  • What did you wear?

  • Why didn't you wear a costume?

  • My costume was too...

  • small

  • Your costume was too small?

  • Oh

  • So did something weird happen?

  • Well, something that was different

  • or I kinda thought was funny was

  • We were trick or treating around 20 houses

  • we had a map actually

  • of all the 20 houses you could go to

  • and there's these high school students

  • in their high school uniforms

  • so it looks like a really good uniform actually

  • if you took that uniform back to Canada

  • it'll be a really good, trick or treating, Halloween uniform

  • but they went and they said "Can I have some candy?"

  • they're like "no you didn't register"

  • so the kids didn't register and pay their money to go trick or treating

  • so they couldn't get the Halloween candy

  • I kinda felt bad for the kids

  • Did you have fun at Halloween?

  • Why are you pretending?

  • It's kind of this

  • Okay so which Halloween do you like better?

  • Do you like it better in Canada or ..

  • Canada!

  • I didn't even finish my question!

  • Do you like it better in Canada ..

  • Canada!

  • or Japan?

  • Canada!

  • Why?

  • Because you don't need money, you don't need to sign up

  • You just..

  • and you don't get one, or two candies

  • Well, how many candies do you get at each house you go to in Canada?

  • I mean, no no no

  • that's in Japan!

  • Like ...

  • (10)

  • or

  • (5)

  • Ten candies??Really?

  • Or

  • (5)

  • It's a lot!

  • Really? I didn't know that

  • Yeah it just goes - shove it *bong* shove it *bong*

  • That's how it goes

  • Yeah

  • Oh that's cool

  • That's kinda like dance

  • Shove it *pong* shove it *pong*

  • No!

  • shove it shove it shove it *pong*

  • No

  • It kinda seems like a dance

  • The candy dance

  • *giggle* the candy dance

  • yeah

  • Did you have a good Halloween?

  • and, what was it like

  • I want to see in the comments

  • Why are you looking at me?

  • Are you looking at them or ..

  • I like seeing comments

  • See you next time, bye!

  • how many houses do you go to trick or treating

  • that's 2 and 0?

  • No

  • zero, two?

  • No

  • two, zero?

  • no

  • twenty!

  • twenty, that's two zero!
